El que viene de lo alto

Jn 3, 31-36

GospelJN 3:31-36

The one who comes from above is above all.
The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things.
But the one who comes from heaven is above all.
He testifies to what he has seen and heard,
but no one accepts his testimony.
Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God remains upon him.

Meditacion:

Amen

Today we read from "The Word Among Us":
Those who have gone through situations of shortages of food and other essential products due to political or economic crises, often find later that it is difficult to know what to do in abundance, and then, once the crisis is over, they remain very prudent in their expenses. and they keep in reserve some of what they have "just in case".
Thank God, the faithful do not have to be like this with our heavenly Father. His love is inexhaustible and he does not ration us anything. Rather, he gives us his Holy Spirit with full hands. As much as we have experienced his generous love, he always lavishes more on us if we ask him.
A beautiful prayer that is recited during the Passover meal contains a refrain called Dayenu, which means "That would have been enough for us." Says so:

If only God had created us, that would have been enough for us.

If only he had taken us out of Egypt, that would have been enough for us.

If only he had given us the Law, that would have been enough for us.

If only he had fed us with manna, that would have been enough for us.

If only he had brought us to the Promised Land, that would have been enough for us.

The prayer concludes by saying, "How much more are we to be thankful for the limitless blessings that God has given us by his mercy."
This is an excellent prayer that we can use today. Although we do not understand everything that God has done for us, there is always something else that He wants to give us. Perhaps you have been blessed in ways you have not even perceived. Certainly the Lord always has more gifts in store for you. There will never be a reason to doubt that God wants to give you more.
Think of all those times when your heavenly Father has lavished on you what you need, has blessed you, and revealed his love to you. Think, too, of the blessings you want the Lord to give you in the years to come. Spend some time today to pray and rejoice in the magnificent gifts that God has given you in your past life, those that he gives you today and those that he will give you tomorrow.
“Lord, if you had only forgiven my sins, that would have been enough for me; but you have done so much more than that. For all that, I thank you and praise you! ” Amen
