El camino hacia Dios

Mt 5, 17-19

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "No crean que he venido a abolir la ley o los profetas; no he venido a abolirlos, sino a darles plenitud. Yo les aseguro que antes se acabarán el cielo y la tierra, que deje de cumplirse hasta la más pequeña letra o coma de la ley.

Por lo tanto, el que quebrante uno de estos preceptos menores y enseñe eso a los hombres, será el menor en el Reino de los cielos; pero el que los cumpla y los enseñe, será grande en el Reino de los cielos".

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”

Meditacion

Jesus nos dice hoy dia "no he venido a abolir la ley de los profetas.." 

A que se referia? A que no cambiana nada de los diez mandamientos, pero en Mateo 5 y 6 esos mandamientos se amplian y refuerzan porque son analizados a traves de la vision de Dios en el Sermon de la Montana.

Las bienaventuranzas son los "nuevos mandamientos" dictados por Jesus; yo siempre digo que los diez mandamientos es lo minimo, es lo que no se puede dejar de cumplir pero las bienaventuranzas nos abren un mundo de posibilidades y nos ensenan el camino directo hacia la santidad.

Hay un pasaje que encontre en un libro de teologia respecto a este tema que me gusto mucho; el padre Vicenç Guinot i Gómez, de España, en la siguiente reflexión:

“Hoy día hay mucho respeto por las distintas religiones. Todas ellas expresan la búsqueda de la trascendencia por parte del hombre, la búsqueda del más allá, de las realidades eternas. En cambio, en el cristianismo, que hunde sus raíces en el judaísmo, este fenómeno es inverso: es Dios quien busca al hombre."

O sea en el cristianismo, Dios busca al hombre, le dice que hacer y le da (en sus mandamientos y en las bienaventuranzas) el camino que debe seguir para convertirse en santo.. facil verdad?

Entonces no son los mandamientos o las bienaventuranzas algo muerto, letra de libros viejos, sino palabra de vida para cada dia que nos muestra el camino.

Estaba finalizando el comentario cuando me llego la noticia de la canonización de Monseñor Romero, el Obispo asesinado en El Salvador en los '80. En Romero tenemos un ejemplo muy claro de lo que venimos diciendo; su vida fue siempre una clara opción por la misericordia y los pobres en un momento muy difícil de Latinoamérica. Amen

Jesus tells us today "I have not come to abolish the law of the prophets .."

What was he referring to? That does not change anything of the ten commandments, but in Matthew 5 and 6 those commandments are amplified and reinforced because they are analyzed through the vision of God in the Sermon on the Mount.

The beatitudes are the "new commandments" dictated by Jesus; I always say that the ten commandments is the minimum, it is what can not be stopped but the Beatitudes open a world of possibilities and teach us the direct path to holiness.

There is a passage that I found in a theology book on this subject that I liked a lot; Father Vicenç Guinot i Gómez, from Spain, in the following reflection:

"Today there is a lot of respect for different religions. All of them express the search for transcendence on the part of man, the search for the beyond, for eternal realities. In contrast, in Christianity, which has its roots in Judaism, this phenomenon is the reverse: it is God who seeks man. "

That is, in Christianity, God looks for man, tells him what to do and gives him (in his commandments and in the beatitudes) the path he must follow to become a saint .. easy truth?

So the commandments or the beatitudes are not dead, the letter of old books, but the word of life for each day that shows us the way.

I was finishing the commentary when I received the news of the canonization of Monsenor Romero, the Bishop murdered in El Salvador in the '80s. In Romero we have a very clear example of what we have been saying; his life was always a clear option for mercy and the poor in a very difficult time in Latin America. Amen
