Mt 9, 1-8

En aquel tiempo, Jesús subió de nuevo a la barca, pasó a la otra orilla del lago y llegó a Cafarnaúm, su ciudad.

En esto, trajeron a donde él estaba a un paralítico postrado en una camilla. Viendo Jesús la fe de aquellos hombres, le dijo al paralítico: “Ten confianza, hijo. Se te perdonan tus pecados”.

Al oír esto, algunos escribas pensaron: “Este hombre está blasfemando”. Pero Jesús, conociendo sus pensamientos, les dijo: “¿Por qué piensan mal en sus corazones? ¿Qué es más fácil: decir ‘Se te perdonan tus pecados’, o decir ‘Levántate y anda’? Pues para que sepan que el Hijo del hombre tiene poder en la tierra para perdonar los pecados, –le dijo entonces al paralítico–: Levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa”.

El se levantó y se fue a su casa. Al ver esto, la gente se llenó de temor y glorificó a Dios, que había dado tanto poder a los hombres.

GospelMT 9:1-8

After entering a boat, Jesus made the crossing, and came into his own town.
And there people brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic,
"Courage, child, your sins are forgiven."
At that, some of the scribes said to themselves,
"This man is blaspheming."
Jesus knew what they were thinking, and said,
"Why do you harbor evil thoughts?
Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,'
or to say, 'Rise and walk'?
But that you may know that the Son of Man
has authority on earth to forgive sins"–
he then said to the paralytic,
"Rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home."
He rose and went home.
When the crowds saw this they were struck with awe
and glorified God who had given such authority to men.

Meditacion:

La liturgia de la Palabra para este día nos invita a valorar la vida, la propia y de todo lo creado, como el don más sagrado. Además, nos invita a curarnos de las parálisis en las que solemos vivir a causa del consumismo y el culto idolátrico al dinero.

La primera lectura de hoy nos muestra a Abraham que tiene que tomar una decision: ofrecer a su propio hijo en sacrificio o desobedecer a Dios.

Pero Abraham tiene en claro una cosa: todo lo que tiene es de Dios, incluido su propio hijo. En el evangelio, lo unico que poseia el paralitico era su paralisis.

Nosotros somos paraliticos, lisiados por nuestras propias necesidades ciegas de cosas materiales, de vanidades, de envidias, de odios sin razon y faltas de amor.

Los escribas nuevamente fallan en quedarse en la superficie y solo criticar y juzgar a Jesus en vez de ayudar y resolver. Y esta es la gran diferencia entre Jesus y "el mundo" por decirlo de alguna manera.

Jesus resuelve desde el amor, siempre desde el amor; las personas muchas veces se quedan lamentandose de una situacion pero son incapaces de arremangarse y resolver.

Por caso somos voluntarios en algun hospital o casa de ancianos aunque sea unas horas por semana? Hacemos alguna practica de misericordia cada dia?. En otras palabras vivimos para nosotros o para los demas?

No seamos escribas, seamos Abraham que no sabia si Dios le iba a dejar vivo a su hijo (como paso luego) pero su fe en Dios era tan inquebrantable, clara y limpia que no dudaba.

No dudemos, no nos quedemos en la superficie, sumerjamonos en el amor de Dios y resolvamos siempre desde la misericordia y el amor a los demas.

“Gracias Padre, porque puedo confiar en ti plenamente.” Amen

The liturgy of the Word for this day invites us to value life, our own and everything created, as the most sacred gift. In addition, it invites us to cure ourselves of the paralysis in which we usually live because of consumerism and the idolatrous cult of money.

Today's first reading shows Abraham that he has to make a choice: offer his own son in sacrifice or disobey God.

But Abraham is clear about one thing: all he has is God, including his own son. In the gospel, the only thing that the paralytic possessed was his paralysis.

We are paralyzed, crippled by our own blind needs of material things, of vanities, of envies, of hatred without reason and lack of love.

The scribes again fail to stay on the surface and only criticize and judge Jesus instead of helping and solving. And this is the great difference between Jesus and "the world" to say it in some way.

Jesus resolves from love, always from love; People often stay complaining about a situation but are unable to roll up their sleeves and resolve.

Are we volunteers in a hospital or nursing home even if it is a few hours per week? Do we practice some mercy every day? In other words, do we live for ourselves or for others?

Let's not write, let's be Abraham who did not know if God was going to leave his son alive (as happened later) but his faith in God was so unbreakable, clear and clean that he did not doubt.

Let's not doubt, let's not stay on the surface, immerse ourselves in the love of God and always resolve from mercy and love to others.

"Thank you, Father, because I can trust you fully." Amen
