Mt 20, 1-16
En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos esta parábola: "El Reino de los cielos es semejante a un propietario que, al amanecer, salió a contratar trabajadores para su viña. Después de quedar con ellos en pagarles un denario por día, los mandó a su viña. Salió otra vez a media mañana, vio a unos que estaban ociosos en la plaza y les dijo: 'Vayan también ustedes a mi viña y les pagaré lo que sea justo'. Salió de nuevo a medio día y a media tarde e hizo lo mismo.
Por último, salió también al caer la tarde y encontró todavía a otros que estaban en la plaza y les dijo: '¿Por qué han estado aquí todo el día sin trabajar?' Ellos le respondieron: 'Porque nadie nos ha contratado'. El les dijo: 'Vayan también ustedes a mi viña'.
Al atardecer, el dueño de la viña le dijo a su administrador: 'Llama a los trabajadores y págales su jornal, comenzando por los últimos hasta que llegues a los primeros'. Se acercaron, pues, los que habían llegado al caer la tarde y recibieron un denario cada uno.
Cuando les llegó su turno a los primeros, creyeron que recibirían más; pero también ellos recibieron un denario cada uno. Al recibirlo, comenzaron a reclamarle al propietario, diciéndole: 'Esos que llegaron al último sólo trabajaron una hora, y sin embargo, les pagas lo mismo que a nosotros, que soportamos el peso del día y del calor'.
Pero él respondió a uno de ellos: 'Amigo, yo no te hago ninguna injusticia. ¿Acaso no quedamos en que te pagaría un denario? Toma, pues, lo tuyo y vete. Yo quiero darle al que llegó al último lo mismo que a ti. ¿Qué no puedo hacer con lo mío lo que yo quiero? ¿O vas a tenerme rencor porque yo soy bueno?'
De igual manera, los últimos serán los primeros, y los primeros seran los ultimos

"The Kingdom of heaven is like a landowner
who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard.
After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage,
he sent them into his vineyard.
Going out about nine o'clock,
he saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
and he said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard,
and I will give you what is just.'
So they went off.
And he went out again around noon,
and around three o'clock, and did likewise.
Going out about five o'clock,
he found others standing around, and said to them,
'Why do you stand here idle all day?'
They answered, 'Because no one has hired us.'
He said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard.'
When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman,
'Summon the laborers and give them their pay,
beginning with the last and ending with the first.'
When those who had started about five o'clock came,
each received the usual daily wage.
So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more,
but each of them also got the usual wage.
And on receiving it they grumbled against the landowner, saying,
'These last ones worked only one hour,
and you have made them equal to us,
who bore the day's burden and the heat.'
He said to one of them in reply,
'My friend, I am not cheating you.
Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage?
Take what is yours and go.
What if I wish to give this last one the same as you?
Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money?
Are you envious because I am generous?'
Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last."

Meditacion:
Hoy nos encontramos con otro de esos evangelios "incomodos" que nos obligan a pensar detenidamente que podemos aplicar en nuestra vida diaria.
Ayer Jesus nos hablaba de que dificilmente un rico entrara en el cielo; hoy, este rico hacendado decide ser increiblemente generoso con sus bienes y pagar a sus jornaleros lo mismo, sin medir cuantas horas han trabajado cada uno.
Yo lo medite por un momento y me parecio justo. Es su dinero, puede hacer lo que desee con el.
Me hubiera quejado si hubiera sido uno de los jornaleros de la manana? No creo, me pagaron lo que acordamos.
Podria ser tan generoso con mis talentos como el rico hacendado? Y aca esta el punto. Somos igualmente de generosos con nuestros hermanos?
Porque no todo es dinero; hay muchas maneras de ayudar al otro... escucharlo, apoyarlo, ayudarlo en sus necesidades... lo somos??
Y es cuando uno comprende esto que este evangelio se pone incomodo porque nos obliga a enfrentarnos a nosotros mismos.
Hoy en dia en nuestras Parroquias escuchamos muchas veces como a Pedro en Juan 21:21... "Y este que?", refiriendonos al diferente, al que no encaja en la comunidad, al que no comparte todas mis creencias.
Les propongo solo por hoy mirar a cada persona que se nos cruce y, al contrario de Pedro, poner a su servicio alguno de nuestros talentos. Les propongo solo por hoy, ayudar a alguien, escuchar a alguien, caminar por unos minutos en los zapatos de alguien.
En suma, les propongo solo por hoy santificarnos en el servicio.
“Señor Jesucristo, gracias por darme el regalo increíble de tu amor.” Amen

Today we find another one of those "uncomfortable" gospels that force us to think carefully that we can apply in our daily lives.
Yesterday Jesus told us that hardly a rich man would enter heaven; Today, this rich landowner decides to be incredibly generous with his assets and pay his day laborers the same, without measuring how many hours they have worked each.
I thought about it for a moment and it seemed fair. It's your money, you can do what you want with it.
I would have complained if I had been one of the morning laborers? I don't think they paid me what we agreed.
Could I be as generous with my talents as the rich landowner? And here is the point. Are we equally generous with our brothers?
Because not everything is money; there are many ways to help the other ... listen to him, support him, help him in his needs ... are we ??
And it is when one understands this that this gospel becomes uncomfortable because it forces us to face ourselves.
Today in our parishes we hear many times like Peter in John 21:21 ... "And this what?", Referring to the different, who does not fit in the community, who does not share all my beliefs.
I propose only for today to look at each person that crosses us and, unlike Pedro, put at your service some of our talents. I propose only for today, help someone, listen to someone, walk for a few minutes in someone's shoes.
In sum, I propose only for today to sanctify ourselves in service.
