Ven y sigueme

Mt 19, 16-22

En aquel tiempo, se acercó a Jesús un joven y le preguntó: "Maestro, ¿qué cosas buenas tengo que hacer para conseguir la vida eterna?" Le respondió Jesús: "¿Por qué me preguntas a mí acerca de lo bueno? Uno solo es el bueno: Dios. Pero, si quieres entrar en la vida, cumple los mandamientos". El replicó: "¿Cuáles?"

Jesús le dijo: No matarás, no cometerás adulterio, no robarás, no levantarás falso testimonio, honra a tu padre y a tu madre, ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

Le dijo entonces el joven: "Todo eso lo he cumplido desde mi niñez, ¿qué más me falta?" Jesús le dijo: "Si quieres ser perfecto, ve a vender todo lo que tienes, dales el dinero a los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el cielo; luego ven y sígueme". Al oír estas palabras, el joven se fue entristecido, porque era muy rico.

A young man approached Jesus and said,
"Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?"
He answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good?
There is only One who is good.
If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
He asked him, "Which ones?"
And Jesus replied, "You shall not kill;
you shall not commit adultery;
you shall not steal;
you shall not bear false witness;
honor your father and your mother;
and you shall love your neighbor as yourself."
The young man said to him,
"All of these I have observed. What do I still lack?"
Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go,
sell what you have and give to the poor,
and you will have treasure in heaven.
Then come, follow me."
When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad,
for he had many possessions.

Meditacion:

Esta semana sera especial; venimos de celebrar la asuncion de Maria la semana pasada y celebraremos su coronacion esta semana, despues de contemplar la vida de algunos santos importantes de la Iglesia.

Ayer hablaba con una diacono respecto a la famosa formula de la confesion de fe : “¿renunciáis a la tentación de creer que ya estáis convertidos del todo?”. En sí el texto va mucho más a la raíz: “¿renunciáis a quedaros en vuestros métodos, instituciones, reglamentos y no ir a Dios?” Hemos de estar vigilantes: somos capaces de disfrazar de evangélico lo más sagrado. Y con frecuencia, como el joven del evangelio, nos vamos tristes porque somos muy ricos.

Humildemente les prevengo... Ojo a esa falsa sensacion de que ya tenemos el cielo ganado!. Eso de "pero si yo soy bueno, no hago mal a nadie" y cosas parecidas. Hay personas que esconden la cabeza como un avestruz pensando en pasar desapercibidos por la vida, sin usar sus talentos. 

Hermanos, todos somos ricos y Dios nos dio esos talentos para ser usados en bien de los demas, no nos quedemos sentados, sin aprovecharlos o aprovechandolos solo para nosotros.

A Dios llegamos sin nada, como dice el dicho, hasta hoy nadie ha visto un cadaver con bolsillos o sea que vivamos en un constante estado de compartir y aprender.

"Senor Dios ensename el camino a seguirte cada dia y hazme humilde y austero en mi vida" Amen

This week will be special; We came to celebrate the assumption of Mary last week and we will celebrate her coronation this week, after contemplating the life of some important saints of the Church.

Yesterday I spoke with a deacon about the famous formula of the confession of faith: "Do you give up the temptation to believe that you are already completely converted?" In itself, the text goes much further to the root: “Do you renounce to stay in your methods, institutions, regulations and not go to God?” We must be vigilant: we are able to disguise the most sacred evangelical. And often, as the young man of the gospel, we are sad because we are very rich.

I humbly warn you ... Beware of that false feeling that we already have heaven won !. That of "but if I'm good, I don't hurt anyone" and similar things. There are people who hide their heads like an ostrich thinking about going unnoticed through life, without using their talents.

Brothers, we are all rich and God gave us those talents to be used for the good of others, we do not sit, without taking advantage of them or taking advantage of them only for ourselves.

We come to God with nothing, as the saying goes, until today nobody has seen a corpse with pockets, that is, we live in a constant state of sharing and learning.

"Lord God teach me the way to follow you every day and make me humble and austere in my life" Amen
