Los niños

Mt 19, 13-15

En aquel tiempo, le presentaron unos niños a Jesús para que les impusiera las manos y orase por ellos. Los discípulos regañaron a la gente; pero Jesús les dijo: "Dejen a los niños y no les impidan que se acerquen a mí, porque de los que son como ellos es el Reino de los cielos". Después les impuso las manos y continuó su camino.

Meditacion:

Hoy miramos culturalmente a los niños con ternura. ¡Son tan indefensos, tan débiles! Y pensamos que lo que Jesús nos quiso decir fue que hay que protegerlos y cuidarlos. Nos sentimos tranquilos. Eso ya lo sabemos y lo hacemos.

Pero, en realidad, Lo que Jesús nos dice es más serio. Los niños, en aquella época, eran considerados simplemente como no personas. Carecían de cualquier derecho social hasta que llegaban a la mayoría de edad.

Como otros grupos en aquella sociedad estaban marginados. De ellos es el Reino de Dios, y de gente como ellos, es decir, de tos marginados, de los que son considerados como nada.

Para entrar en el Reino hay que hacerse como aquellos niños. De algún modo hay que marginarse de esta sociedad, salirse de sus carriles. No podemos jugar a dos barajas.

El que sigue a Jesús tiene que dejar este estilo de mundo. Hay que hacerse como los marginados, para allá. desde los márgenes y las fronteras, aprender otra forma de ser personas, un nuevo estilo de vida más acorde con el Reino.

Ahora te pregunto, ¿crees que tu conducta te asemeja más al Jesús compasivo o a los discípulos que marcaban las diferencias sociales? La próxima vez que te topes con una persona diferente a ti, no pases de largo. Salúdala, haz un alto y entérate de su nombre. Pon atención a esa persona y deja que te cuente su historia. A lo mejor ves que pueda haber una forma en la que puedas ayudarle.

Jesús valora a cada persona. Así como permitió que los niños se acercaran a él, tú también puedes permitir que la gente se acerque a ti. Es importante que los católicos tengamos siempre una conducta claramente cristiana, que demuestre que somos tolerantes, solidarios y bondadosos, como Jesús nos mandó.

“Amado Señor, enséñame a valorar a todas las personas, incluso a los ‘más pequeños’.” Amen

Today we look culturally at children with tenderness. They are so helpless, so weak! And we think that what Jesus meant to us was that we must protect and care for them. We feel calm. We already know that and we do it.

But really, what Jesus tells us is more serious. Children, at that time, were considered simply as non-persons. They lacked any social rights until they reached the age of majority.

Like other groups in that society were marginalized. Theirs is the Kingdom of God, and of people like them, that is, of marginalized coughs, of those who are considered as nothing.

To enter the Kingdom you have to be like those children. Somehow you have to get out of this society, get out of their lanes. We can't play two decks.

Whoever follows Jesus has to leave this world style. You have to be like the marginalized, over there. From the margins and borders, learn another way of being people, a new lifestyle more in line with the Kingdom.

Now I ask you, do you think that your behavior is more like the compassionate Jesus or the disciples who marked social differences? The next time you bump into a person other than you, don't pass by. Greet her, stop and find out her name. Pay attention to that person and let me tell you their story. Maybe you see there may be a way you can help him.

Jesus values ​​each person. Just as he allowed the children to approach him, you can also allow people to approach you. It is important that Catholics always have a clearly Christian behavior that demonstrates that we are tolerant, supportive and kind, as Jesus commanded us.
