Jn 8, 1-11

GospelJN 8:1-11
Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
But early in the morning he arrived again in the temple area,
and all the people started coming to him,
and he sat down and taught them.
Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman
who had been caught in adultery
and made her stand in the middle.
They said to him,
“Teacher, this woman was caught
in the very act of committing adultery.
Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women.
So what do you say?”
They said this to test him,
so that they could have some charge to bring against him.
Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger.
But when they continued asking him,
he straightened up and said to them,
“Let the one among you who is without sin
be the first to throw a stone at her.”
Again he bent down and wrote on the ground.
And in response, they went away one by one,
beginning with the elders.
So he was left alone with the woman before him.
Then Jesus straightened up and said to her,
“Woman, where are they?
Has no one condemned you?”
She replied, “No one, sir.”
Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you.
Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”

Meditacion:
Ayúdame a seguir tu guía y escuchar tu voz.” Amen

Today's Gospel speaks of each one of us. The tradition of the Bible (I would call it the parallel stories, not always true but sometimes interesting) tell us that what Jesus wrote on the ground was the name of each of the accusers and their sins.
It may or may not be, but in this case, each one recognizes that he is a sinner and that he cannot accuse without being accused.
If this woman was guilty or not, it is secondary, the important thing of this gospel is to recognize two things
a) We are all sinners, with the same rod we measure we will be measured.
b) The love of God is infinite and where there is repentance and desire to improve ("go and sin no more") there will be forgiveness.
So, friends, let us make our life a place of reflection and love, let us not rush to judge because that is why God is already there and we are merciful to those who choose to live in sin.
That is the way to testify our love for God.
Let us therefore be attentive to the witnesses who speak to us, and ask the Holy Spirit to make us see clearly that what Jesus teaches us is the truth. If we are well disposed, this testimony will reach our hearts with all strength and clarity (John 14:26; 15:26).
“Holy Spirit, teach me to personally know Jesus, the light of the world. Help me to follow your guidance and listen to your voice. ” Amen
