Dios de vivos

Mc 12, 18-27

En aquel tiempo, fueron a ver a Jesús algunos de los saduceos, los cuales afirman que los muertos no resucitan, y le dijeron: “Maestro, Moisés nos dejó escrito que si un hombre muere dejando a su viuda sin hijos, que la tome por mujer el hermano del que murió, para darle descendencia a su hermano. Había una vez siete hermanos, el primero de los cuales se casó y murió sin dejar hijos. El segundo se casó con la viuda y murió también, sin dejar hijos; lo mismo el tercero. Los siete se casaron con ella y ninguno de ellos dejó descendencia. Por último, después de todos, murió también la mujer. El día de la resurrección, cuando resuciten de entre los muertos, ¿de cuál de los siete será mujer? Porque fue mujer de los siete”.

Jesús les contestó: “Están en un error, porque no entienden las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios. Pues cuando resuciten de entre los muertos, ni los hombres tendrán mujer ni las mujeres marido, sino que serán como los ángeles del cielo. Y en cuanto al hecho de que los muertos resucitan, ¿acaso no han leído en el libro de Moisés aquel pasaje de la zarza, en que Dios le dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac, el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos. Están, pues, muy equivocados”.

Some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection,
came to Jesus and put this question to him, saying,
“Teacher, Moses wrote for us,
If someone’s brother dies, leaving a wife but no child,
his brother must take the wife
and raise up descendants for his brother.
Now there were seven brothers.
The first married a woman and died, leaving no descendants.
So the second brother married her and died, leaving no descendants,
and the third likewise.
And the seven left no descendants.
Last of all the woman also died.
At the resurrection when they arise whose wife will she be?
For all seven had been married to her.”
Jesus said to them, “Are you not misled
because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?
When they rise from the dead,
they neither marry nor are given in marriage,
but they are like the angels in heaven.
As for the dead being raised,
have you not read in the Book of Moses,
in the passage about the bush, how God told him,
I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,
and the God of Jacob?
He is not God of the dead but of the living.
You are greatly misled.”

Meditacion:

Los saduceos: el término deriva de Sadoc, sacerdote ligado a la historia de David y Salomón. Poco numerosos, pero con mucho poder, los saduceos pertenecían a la clase sacerdotal y a la nobleza laica. Se atenían a la letra de la Escritura Santa y a la autoridad de Moisés (precisamente por eso Jesús les argumenta así); no aceptaban la tradición oral de los fariseos como fuente de interpretación de la Escritura.

Partiendo de una interpretación ridícula de la ley del Levirato -Dt 25- (la viuda debe casarse con el hermano) quieren atacar a Jesús y su planteamiento sobre la resurrección. Y por ahí no pasa Jesús

Dios de vivos. Jesús acude al pasaje de Moisés en la zarza ardiendo. El “Dios de Abrahán, de Isaac y de Jacob” quiere la vida de todos sus hijos. “No es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos; porque para él todos están vivos”. Él quiere la vida de todos y cada uno de sus hijos. La Vida con mayúsculas, en condiciones. Porque Jesús ha resucitado la vida de los seres humanos tiene sentido. Y a partir de la resurrección de Jesús, la vida de los hombres y de las mujeres merecen la pena y, lo que es más importante, merecen la alegría.

Credo. La creencia en la vida que no tiene fin es uno de los elementos centrales de nuestra profesión de fe: “CREO EN LA RESURRECCIÓN DE LOS MUERTOS Y EN LA VIDA ETERNA”.

The Sadducees: the term derives from Sadoc, a priest linked to the story of David and Solomon. Few in number, but very powerful, the Sadducees belonged to the priestly class and the lay nobility. They adhered to the letter of Holy Scripture and to the authority of Moses (precisely why Jesus argues them like this); they did not accept the oral tradition of the Pharisees as a source of interpretation of Scripture.

Starting from a ridiculous interpretation of the Levirate law -Dt 25- (the widow must marry the brother) they want to attack Jesus and his approach to the resurrection. And that does not happen Jesus

God of the living. Jesus goes to the passage of Moses in the burning bush. The "God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob" wants the life of all his children. “He is not God of the dead, but of the living; because for him everyone is alive ”. He wants the life of each and every one of his children. Life in capital letters, in conditions. Because Jesus has risen the life of human beings makes sense. And after the resurrection of Jesus, the lives of men and women are worthwhile and, more importantly, they deserve joy.

Creed. The belief in life that has no end is one of the central elements of our profession of faith: "I BELIEVE IN THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD AND IN ETERNAL LIFE."
