Señor, Señor!!

Mt 7, 21-29

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “No todo el que me diga: ‘¡Señor, Señor!’, entrará en el Reino de los cielos, sino el que cumpla la voluntad de mi Padre, que está en los cielos. Aquel día muchos me dirán: ‘¡Señor, Señor!, ¿no hemos hablado y arrojado demonios en tu nombre y no hemos hecho, en tu nombre, muchos milagros?’ Entonces yo les diré en su cara: ‘Nunca los he conocido. Aléjense de mí, ustedes, los que han hecho el mal’.

El que escucha estas palabras mías y las pone en práctica, se parece a un hombre prudente, que edificó su casa sobre roca. Vino la lluvia, bajaron las crecientes, se desataron los vientos y dieron contra aquella casa; pero no se cayó, porque estaba construida sobre roca.

Cuando Jesús terminó de hablar, la gente quedó asombrada de su doctrina, porque les enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad y no como los escribas.

GospelMT 7:21-29

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name?
Did we not drive out demons in your name?
Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’
Then I will declare to them solemnly,
‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.
And everyone who listens to these words of mine
but does not act on them
will be like a fool who built his house on sand.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

When Jesus finished these words,
the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority,
and not as their scribes.

Meditacion:

En estos ultimos dias, Jesús ha venido explicando a lo largo del Sermón del Monte en qué consiste su proyecto del Reino, y en qué consiste ser discípulo suyo (=cristiano). Y el pasaje de hoy vendría a ser el resumen y conclusión de todo lo dicho hasta aquí: discípulo suyo es el que escucha su Palabra y la cumple, el que pone como cimiento de su vida las enseñanzas del Evangelio. 

 Se trata, por tanto, de construir mi persona (mi proyecto de vida), mi comunidad y la sociedad de la que formo parte sobre la Palabra de Jesús. Donde lo importante no es el decir «Señor, Señor» (una oración/culto separados de la vida y del compromiso por transformar la realidad, una oración llena de palabrería...), cuanto que nos preguntemos continuamente y procuremos discernir cuál es la voluntad de Dios para mí en cada momento de mi vida, de modo que vayamos haciendo nuestros los valores del Evangelio (los cimientos de la casa). Los cumplimientos y los mínimos de que he hablado antes quedan así del todo superados, tenemos que ir mucho más allá por convencimiento, por complicidad con el proyecto de Jesús. Jesús ha invitado a «hacer» la voluntad del Padre y no quedarnos en palabras o bellas intenciones. En esa voluntad el eje central siempre serán sobre todos en los otros, y especialmente los que están marginados, los que sufren, etc. Ser como él, vivir como él, para lo mismo que él, y apoyarnos en él. Esto es construir sobre roca.

“Ven, Espíritu Santo y ayúdame a imitar más a Jesús. Quiero ser sus manos y sus pies en este mundo.” Amen

Where the important thing is not saying "Lord, Lord" (a prayer / cult separated from life and commitment to transform reality, a prayer full of verbiage ...), as long as we constantly ask ourselves and try to discern what is the God's will for me at every moment of my life, so that we can make the values ​​of the Gospel our own (the foundation of the house). The fulfillments and the minimums of which I have spoken before are thus completely surpassed, we have to go much further by conviction, by complicity with the project of Jesus. Jesus has invited us to "do" the Father's will and not remain in words or beautiful intentions. In that will, the central axis will always be above all others, and especially those who are marginalized, those who suffer, etc. Be like him, live like him, for the same as him, and lean on him. This is building on rock.
