En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos esta parábola: “El Reino de los cielos es semejante a un propietario que, al amanecer, salió a contratar trabajadores para su viña. Después de quedar con ellos en pagarles un denario por día, los mandó a su viña. Salió otra vez a media mañana, vio a unos que estaban ociosos en la plaza y les dijo: ‘Vayan también ustedes a mi viña y les pagaré lo que sea justo’. Salió de nuevo a medio día y a media tarde e hizo lo mismo.
Por último, salió también al caer la tarde y encontró todavía a otros que estaban en la plaza y les dijo: ‘¿Por qué han estado aquí todo el día sin trabajar?’ Ellos le respondieron: ‘Porque nadie nos ha contratado’. El les dijo: ‘Vayan también ustedes a mi viña’.
Al atardecer, el dueño de la viña le dijo a su administrador: ‘Llama a los trabajadores y págales su jornal, comenzando por los últimos hasta que llegues a los primeros’. Se acercaron, pues, los que habían llegado al caer la tarde y recibieron un denario cada uno.
Cuando les llegó su turno a los primeros, creyeron que recibirían más; pero también ellos recibieron un denario cada uno. Al recibirlo, comenzaron a reclamarle al propietario, diciéndole: ‘Esos que llegaron al último sólo trabajaron una hora, y sin embargo, les pagas lo mismo que a nosotros, que soportamos el peso del día y del calor’.
Pero él respondió a uno de ellos: ‘Amigo, yo no te hago ninguna injusticia. ¿Acaso no quedamos en que te pagaría un denario? Toma, pues, lo tuyo y vete. Yo quiero darle al que llegó al último lo mismo que a ti. ¿Qué no puedo hacer con lo mío lo que yo quiero? ¿O vas a tenerme rencor porque yo soy bueno?’
De igual manera, los últimos serán los primeros, y los primeros, los últimos’’.

Jesus told his disciples this parable:
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a landowner
who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard.
After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage,
he sent them into his vineyard.
Going out about nine o’clock,
he saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
and he said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard,
and I will give you what is just.’
So they went off.
And he went out again around noon,
and around three o’clock, and did likewise.
Going out about five o’clock,
he found others standing around, and said to them,
‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’
They answered, ‘Because no one has hired us.’
He said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard.’
When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman,
‘Summon the laborers and give them their pay,
beginning with the last and ending with the first.’
When those who had started about five o’clock came,
each received the usual daily wage.
So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more,
but each of them also got the usual wage.
And on receiving it they grumbled against the landowner, saying,
‘These last ones worked only one hour,
and you have made them equal to us,
who bore the day’s burden and the heat.’
He said to one of them in reply,
‘My friend, I am not cheating you.
Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage?
Take what is yours and go.
What if I wish to give this last one the same as you?
Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money?
Are you envious because I am generous?’
Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

Meditacion:
“¡Estás contratado!” Estas palabras son música para los oídos de cualquier desempleado. Significa que sus talentos y habilidades son valoradas. Es una oportunidad de ser productivo y, desde luego, financieramente recompensado.
Dios también quiere contratarte a ti: “Vayan también ustedes a mi viña” (Mateo 20, 7). No importa en cuál “hora” de la vida estés, Cristo te está enviando al mundo a proclamar la buena nueva del amor de Dios. Y al final, serás recompensado con el ciento por uno.
Pero a pesar de que el empleador es tan generoso, ¿cuántos de nosotros realmente queremos ser contratados para esta tarea? Alguien podría preguntar: “Señor, ¿no hay alguna otra cosa que necesites que yo haga?” No, ¡la cosecha es mucha! El mundo está sediento de Cristo. Los que sufren ansían una respuesta a sus gritos de quebranto y están anhelando una razón para tener esperanza.
Cada uno de nosotros tiene una fe particular, relaciones singulares y talentos únicos que nos convierten en un trabajador irremplazable para la economía de la salvación. Es más, Dios no se limita a enviarnos a la batalla mientras él observa desde su oficina central en el cielo. No, él trabaja codo a codo con nosotros, enviando su Espíritu para ayudarnos y prepara los corazones de las personas para el testimonio que les vamos a dar. Así que pide la guía del Espíritu para identificar las necesidades específicas de la familia, parroquia o comunidad.
Al ingresar al mercado de la evangelización, recuerda que uno de tus recursos más importantes es tu propia experiencia personal, o sea aquellos momentos en los que sentiste a Dios especialmente cerca o cuando recibiste una respuesta a una oración desesperada, o bien esos momentos cuando estuviste dispuesto a perdonar o acercarte a alguien muy distinto a ti. No te reserves estas cosas solo para ti. Cuéntales a quienes quieran escuchar cómo Dios ha transformado tu vida, y permíteles saber que él puede hacer lo mismo por ellos.
Sí, Dios quiere contratarte, así que intenta dar hoy un paso de fe y ve a dónde te lleva. Aun cuando no veas el fruto inmediato, tu testimonio plantará las semillas de la fe que brotarán luego. Dios es un patrón generoso que recompensará tus esfuerzos.
“Espíritu Santo, guíame hacia aquellos que están esperando escuchar hoy que los amas y los aceptas.” Amen

"You are hired!" These words are music to the ears of any unemployed person. It means that your talents and abilities are valued. It is an opportunity to be productive and, of course, financially rewarded.
God also wants to hire you: "You also go to my vineyard" (Matthew 20, 7). No matter what “hour” of life you are in, Christ is sending you into the world to proclaim the good news of God's love. And in the end, you will be rewarded one hundred for one.
But even though the employer is so generous, how many of us really want to be hired for this task? Someone might ask, "Sir, isn't there something else you need me to do?" No, the harvest is great! The world is thirsty for Christ. Those who suffer long for an answer to their cries of brokenness and are longing for a reason to hope.
Each of us has a particular faith, unique relationships, and unique talents that make us an irreplaceable worker for the economy of salvation. What's more, God doesn't just send us into battle as he watches from his headquarters in heaven. No, he works hand in hand with us, sending his Spirit to help us and prepares people's hearts for the testimony that we are going to give them. So ask for the guidance of the Spirit to identify the specific needs of the family, parish, or community.
When entering the market of evangelization, remember that one of your most important resources is your own personal experience, that is, those moments when you felt God especially close or when you received an answer to a desperate prayer, or those moments when you were willing to forgive or get close to someone very different from you. Don't keep these things just for yourself. Tell those who want to hear how God has transformed your life, and let them know that He can do the same for them.
Yes, God wants to hire you, so try taking a step of faith today and see where it takes you. Even when you don't see immediate fruit, your testimony will plant the seeds of faith that will sprout later. God is a generous patron who will reward your efforts.
