Lc 1, 39-45

En aquellos días, María se encaminó presurosa a un pueblo de las montañas de Judea y, entrando en la casa de Zacarías, saludó a Isabel. En cuanto ésta oyó el saludo de María, la creatura saltó en su seno.

Entonces Isabel quedó llena del Espíritu Santo y, levantando la voz, exclamó: “¡Bendita tú entre las mujeres y bendito el fruto de tu vientre! ¿Quién soy yo, para que la madre de mi Señor venga a verme? Apenas llegó tu saludo a mis oídos, el niño saltó de gozo en mi seno. Dichosa tú, que has creído, porque se cumplirá cuanto te fue anunciado de parte del Señor”.

LK 1:39-45

Mary set out in those days
and traveled to the hill country in haste
to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah
and greeted Elizabeth. 
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
“Most blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the infant in my womb leaped for joy. 
Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled.”

Meditacion:

Después de que María es visitada por Dios, ella misma se dedica a visitar.

La visita de Dios, que le trajo bendición, confianza y gérmenes de vida, es devuelta por María a Isabel, llevándole eso mismo que ella ha recibido.

E Isabel lo nota. Porque lo que llevamos en el corazón, lo muestran el rostro y las palabras. “Tan pronto como tu saludo llegó a mis oídos, saltó de alegría la criatura en mi vientre”. Las cosas importantes se transmiten así: por contagio. Como la fe, la confianza, el amor, la esperanza… “Y ella quedó llena del Espíritu Santo”.

En la visita a Isabel, María también recibe. Recibe la confirmación del camino que ha comenzado: “Dichosa tú que has creído…”. Y seguro que, tras un tiempo, volvió a Nazaret también llena de alegría.

Las visitas de Dios son don y tarea. Desde la gratuidad, somos queridos y elegidos para una misión. Esa misión nos pone en camino hacia los demás. Y en ese camino, recibimos nuevos dones. Como María. Amen

The visits of God are gift and task. From gratuitousness, we are loved and chosen for a mission. That mission puts us on the path to others. And in that way, we receive new gifts. How maria. Amen
