Evangelio
En aquel tiempo, con la fuerza del Espíritu, Jesús volvió a Galilea. Iba enseñando en las sinagogas; todos lo alababan y su fama se extendió por toda la región.
Fue también a Nazaret, donde se había criado. Entró en la sinagoga, como era su costumbre hacerlo los sábados, y se levantó para hacer la lectura. Se le dio el volumen del profeta Isaías, lo desenrolló y encontró el pasaje en que estaba escrito: El Espíritu del Señor está sobre mí, porque me ha ungido para llevar a los pobres la buena nueva, para anunciar la liberación a los cautivos y la curación a los ciegos, para dar libertad a los oprimidos y proclamar el año de gracia del Señor.
Enrolló el volumen, lo devolvió al encargado y se sentó. Los ojos de todos los asistentes a la sinagoga estaban fijos en él. Entonces comenzó a hablar, diciendo: “Hoy mismo se ha cumplido este pasaje de la Escritura que acaban de oír”.
Todos le daban su aprobación y admiraban la sabiduría de las palabras que salían de sus labios.

Gospel
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit,
and news of him spread throughout the whole region.
He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all.
He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up,
and went according to his custom
into the synagogue on the sabbath day.
He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah.
He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring glad tidings to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.
Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down,
and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him.
He said to them,
“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”
And all spoke highly of him
and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.

Meditacion:
Obviamente Jesús pronunció estas palabras para referirse a sí mismo. Pero, ¿tú crees que se podría decir lo mismo sobre ti? Todos los que han sido bautizados en Cristo han recibido su Espíritu Santo. Ya sea que lo sientas o no, en realidad, ya sea que tu experiencia te lo diga o no, ¡el Espíritu Santo está sobre ti
Entonces, ahora que sabes esto, ¿qué puedes hacer con esta información? Después de sorprenderte, sin duda, ¿deberías limitarte a sentarte y deleitarte en tu grandiosa fortuna? No, eso no es.
Jesús vino a inaugurar el Reino de Dios, el lugar donde se enjugarán todas las lágrimas y se romperá toda cadena. Los afligidos escuchan la buena noticia del amor de Dios, y las personas que una vez estuvieron ciegas finalmente verán la evidencia de su presencia. Aquellos que están esclavizados al pecado serán liberados y los que tienen hambre de paz quedarán satisfechos.
Todo esto suena muy bien, ¿no es cierto? Pero según lo que sabemos, nada de esto sucede por arte de magia. El Reino de Dios solamente crece conforme nosotros, portadores de su Espíritu, nos amamos unos a otros así como él nos amó, cuando hacemos por otros lo que él ha hecho por nosotros.
Podrías pensar que no eres la persona adecuada para llevar a cabo esta tarea, pero Dios no piensa de la misma manera. El Señor te dio su espíritu con ese único propósito y mientras aprendes a sentirlo y a seguir su guía, irás venciendo las limitaciones que parecen crecer en tu corazón. Con el tiempo, crecerás en confianza, y Dios te usará para cosas más grandes.
Esta idea de “sentir” al Espíritu puede sonar como algo que está lejos de nuestro alcance, pero en realidad es algo bastante sencillo. Es esa pequeña y tranquila voz que está en tu mente animándote a perdonar a tu compañera de trabajo por eso que dijo de ti, o ese impulso que te acerca a tu vecino que parece solitario o esa sensación en tu garganta que surge cuando estás por decir algo inapropiado o dañino. Cada vez que sigues uno de estos impulsos, estás colocando otra piedra angular del Reino; y además, estás edificando una base más fuerte para tu propia vida, una base de paz y de confianza en el Espíritu que vive en ti.

Obviously Jesus spoke these words to refer to himself. But do you think the same could be said about you? All who have been baptized into Christ have received his Holy Spirit. Whether you feel it or not, in reality, whether your experience tells you or not, the Holy Spirit is upon you!
So now that you know this, what can you do with this information? After being amazed, no doubt, should you just sit back and revel in your great fortune? No, that is not.
Jesus came to inaugurate the Kingdom of God, the place where all tears will be wiped away and every chain will be broken. The afflicted hear the good news of God's love, and people who were once blind will finally see the evidence of his presence. Those who are enslaved to sin will be set free and those who hunger for peace will be satisfied.
This all sounds great, doesn't it? But from what we know, none of this happens by magic. The Kingdom of God only grows as we, bearers of his Spirit, love one another as he loved us, when we do for others what he has done for us.
You might think that you are not the right person to carry out this task, but God does not think in the same way. The Lord gave you his spirit for that sole purpose and as you learn to feel it and follow his guide, you will overcome the limitations that seem to grow in your heart. In time, you will grow in confidence, and God will use you for greater things.
This idea of “feeling” Spirit may sound like something that is out of reach, but it is actually quite simple. It is that small and calm voice that is in your mind encouraging you to forgive your coworker for what she said about you, or that impulse that brings you closer to your neighbor that seems lonely or that feeling in your throat that arises when you are about to say something inappropriate or harmful. Each time you follow one of these impulses, you are laying another cornerstone of the Kingdom; and furthermore, you are building a stronger foundation for your own life, a foundation of peace and trust in the Spirit that lives in you.
