Ser agradecido

Lc 17, 11-19

En aquel tiempo, cuando Jesús iba de camino a Jerusalén, pasó entre Samaria y Galilea. Estaba cerca de un pueblo, cuando le salieron al encuentro diez leprosos, los cuales se detuvieron a lo lejos y a gritos le decían: "Jesús, maestro, ten compasión de nosotros".

Al verlos, Jesús les dijo: "Vayan a presentarse a los sacerdotes". Mientras iban de camino, quedaron limpios de la lepra.

Uno de ellos, al ver que estaba curado, regresó, alabando a Dios en voz alta, se postró a los pies de Jesús y le dio las gracias. Ése era un samaritano. Entonces dijo Jesús: "¿No eran diez los que quedaron limpios? ¿Dónde están los otros nueve? ¿No ha habido nadie, fuera de este extranjero, que volviera para dar gloria a Dios?" Después le dijo al samaritano: "Levántate y vete. Tu fe te ha salvado".

GospelLK 17:11-19

As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem,
he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten persons with leprosy met him.
They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying,
"Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!"
And when he saw them, he said,
"Go show yourselves to the priests."
As they were going they were cleansed. 
And one of them, realizing he had been healed,
returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. 
He was a Samaritan.
Jesus said in reply,
"Ten were cleansed, were they not?
Where are the other nine? 
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?" 
Then he said to him, "Stand up and go;
your faith has saved you."

Meditacion:

Hoy es dia de accion de gracias para los que vivimos en Estados Unidos, se celebra la tradicion de una cena que los indigenas prepararon para los hambrientos y recien llegados protestantes de Inglaterra.

Es una celebracion llena de amor, fraternidad y alegria donde las familias se reunen para comer el tradicional pavo asado.

Tambien es la oportunidad para acordarse de lo que menos tienen y muchas Iglesias organizan llevar comida a los que viven en la calle; lamentablemente, el grupo con que haciamos cada año esta accion no logro ponerse de acuerdo este año y esta hermosa accion que ponia en contacto personas que viven en la calle con personas que normalmente no estan en contacto con esta realidad no se podra hacer.

Y hoy nos encontramos con este evangelio tan bello donde contemplamos la curacion de 10 leprosos... pero lo mas valioso del evangelio, es la ultima parte donde de 10, solo uno vuelve a dar las gracias.

Donde nos encontramos nosotros? en los otros 9 o somos el que da gracias a Dios por los favores recibidos cada dia? 

Hoy celebramos el Dia de Accion de Gracias.. no nos olvidemos al menos hoy de ser, al menos por un dia, el que volvio a agradecer, el que tiene un alma llena del amor del Padre, el que reconoce, en la mirada del hermano que vive en la calle y no tiene ni las posibilidades ni la vida que nosotros llevamos, al Cristo hermano crucificado.

Si hacemos eso, el año que viene no seremos tan descuidados y celebraremos juntos con los que menos tienen. Amen

Today is a day of thanksgiving for those of us who live in the United States, celebrating the tradition of a dinner that the Indians prepared for the hungry and newly arrived Protestants of England.

It is a celebration full of love, fraternity and joy where families gather to eat the traditional roast turkey.

It is also the opportunity to remember what they have least and many churches organize to bring food to those who live on the street; unfortunately, the group with which we made this action every year could not agree this year and this beautiful action that put people who live in the street in contact with people who normally are not in contact with this reality can not be done.

And today we find this beautiful gospel where we contemplate the healing of 10 lepers ... but the most valuable of the gospel, is the last part where of 10, only one returns to give thanks.

Where are we? in the other 9 or are we the one who gives thanks to God for the favors received each day?

Today we celebrate the Day of Thanksgiving ... let us not forget at least today to be, at least for a day, the one who returned to thank, the one who has a soul full of the love of the Father, the one who recognizes, in the gaze of the brother who lives on the street and has neither the possibilities nor the life that we lead, to the crucified Christ Christ.

If we do that, next year we will not be so careless and celebrate together with those who have less. Amen

Talentos...

Lc 19, 11-28

En aquel tiempo, como ya se acercaba Jesús a Jerusalén y la gente pensaba que el Reino de Dios iba a manifestarse de un momento a otro, él les dijo esta parábola:

"Había un hombre de la nobleza que se fue a un país lejano para ser nombrado rey y volver como tal. Antes de irse, mandó llamar a diez empleados suyos, les entregó una moneda de mucho valor a cada uno y les dijo: 'Inviertan este dinero mientras regreso'.

Pero sus compatriotas lo aborrecían y enviaron detrás de él a unos delegados que dijeran: 'No queremos que éste sea nuestro rey'.

Pero fue nombrado rey, y cuando regresó a su país, mandó llamar a los empleados a quienes había entregado el dinero, para saber cuánto había ganado cada uno.

Se presentó el primero y le dijo: 'Señor, tu moneda ha producido otras diez monedas'. Él le contestó: 'Muy bien. Eres un buen empleado. Puesto que has sido fiel en una cosa pequeña, serás gobernador de diez ciudades'.

Se presentó el segundo y le dijo: 'Señor, tu moneda ha producido otras cinco monedas'. Y el señor le respondió: 'Tú serás gobernador de cinco ciudades'.
Se presentó el tercero y le dijo: 'Señor, aquí está tu moneda. La he tenido guardada en un pañuelo, pues te tuve miedo, porque eres un hombre exigente, que reclama lo que no ha invertido y cosecha lo que no ha sembrado'. El señor le contestó: 'Eres un mal empleado. Por tu propia boca te condeno. Tú sabías que yo soy un hombre exigente, que reclamo lo que no he invertido y que cosecho lo que no he sembrado, ¿por qué, pues, no pusiste mi dinero en el banco para que yo, al volver, lo hubiera recobrado con intereses?'

Después les dijo a los presentes: 'Quítenle a éste la moneda y dénsela al que tiene diez'. Le respondieron: 'Señor, ya tiene diez monedas'. Él les dijo: 'Les aseguro que a todo el que tenga se le dará con abundancia, y al que no tenga, aun lo que tiene se le quitará. En cuanto a mis enemigos, que no querían tenerme como rey, tráiganlos aquí y mátenlos en mi presencia' ".

Dicho esto, Jesús prosiguió su camino hacia Jerusalén al frente de sus discípulos.

GospelLK 19:11-28

While people were listening to Jesus speak,
he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem
and they thought that the Kingdom of God
would appear there immediately.
So he said,
"A nobleman went off to a distant country
to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return.
He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins
and told them, 'Engage in trade with these until I return.'
His fellow citizens, however, despised him
and sent a delegation after him to announce,
'We do not want this man to be our king.'
But when he returned after obtaining the kingship,
he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money,
to learn what they had gained by trading.
The first came forward and said,
'Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.'
He replied, 'Well done, good servant!
You have been faithful in this very small matter;
take charge of ten cities.'
Then the second came and reported,
'Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.'
And to this servant too he said,
'You, take charge of five cities.'
Then the other servant came and said,
'Sir, here is your gold coin;
I kept it stored away in a handkerchief,
for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding man;
you take up what you did not lay down
and you harvest what you did not plant.'
He said to him,
'With your own words I shall condemn you,
you wicked servant.
You knew I was a demanding man,
taking up what I did not lay down
and harvesting what I did not plant;
why did you not put my money in a bank?
Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.'
And to those standing by he said,
'Take the gold coin from him
and give it to the servant who has ten.'
But they said to him,
'Sir, he has ten gold coins.'
He replied, 'I tell you,
to everyone who has, more will be given,
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away.
Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king,
bring them here and slay them before me.'"

After he had said this,
he proceeded on his journey up to Jerusalem.

Meditation:

Ya en camino a Jerusalen, Jesus relata la parabola de los talentos. No es una leccion de finanzas como alguna vez me dijo alguien en un retiro, es una llamada de atencion.. yo me voy y les dejo a cada uno sus talentos, usenlos inteligentemente.

Cada uno de nosotros fue hecho a imagen y semejanza de Dios y con talentos para desarrollar el plan que Dios tiene para nosotros.

Descubrir nuestros talentos y ponerlos a trabajar es una parte importante de cumplir con ese plan.

Algunos nos hemos encontrado metidos en este extravagante sueño de Jesús, nos reconocemos sus siervos y hemos recibido una misión invertir cuanto somos y hemos recibido en hacer brotar el Reino a nuestro alrededor.

A veces nos cuesta reconocer los talentos que de él hemos recibido y no en pocas ocasiones sentimos la tentación de esconder lo que nos ha sido dado, de no ponerlo a fructificar y simplemente vivir. Dejar que la vida nos viva.

“Nuestro tiempo pasa, Señor.

Danos tu tiempo para que podamos vivir.

Danos el valor de servir a la vida y no a la muerte.

Danos tu futuro a nosotros

y a nuestros hijos.” (J. Moltmann)

Already on the way to Jerusalem, Jesus tells the parable of the talents. It is not a lesson in finance as someone once told me in a retreat, it is a wake-up call .. I leave and I leave to each one their talents, use them intelligently.

Each of us was made in the image and likeness of God and with talents to develop God's plan for us.

Discovering our talents and putting them to work is an important part of fulfilling that plan.

Some of us have found ourselves caught up in this extravagant dream of Jesus, we recognize his servants and we have received a mission to invest what we are and we have received in bringing forth the Kingdom around us.

Sometimes it is hard for us to recognize the talents that we have received from him and not rarely do we feel the temptation to hide what has been given to us, not to put it to fruition and simply to live. Let life live us

"Our time is passing, Lord.

Give us your time so we can live.

Give us the courage to serve life and not death.

Give us your future to us

and our children. "(J. Moltmann)

Zaqueo, el del arbol

Lc 19, 1-10

En aquel tiempo, Jesús entró en Jericó, y al ir atravesando la ciudad, sucedió que un hombre llamado Zaqueo, jefe de publicanos y rico, trataba de conocer a Jesús, pero la gente se lo impedía, porque Zaqueo era de baja estatura. Entonces corrió y se subió a un árbol para verlo cuando pasara por ahí. Al llegar a ese lugar, Jesús levantó los ojos y le dijo: "Zaqueo, bájate pronto, porque hoy tengo que hospedarme en tu casa"

Él bajó enseguida y lo recibió muy contento. Al ver esto, comenzaron todos a murmurar diciendo: "Ha entrado a hospedarse en casa de un pecador".

Zaqueo, poniéndose de pie, dijo a Jesús: "Mira, Señor, voy a dar a los pobres la mitad de mis bienes, y si he defraudado a alguien, le restituiré cuatro veces más". Jesús le dijo: "Hoy ha llegado la salvación a esta casa, porque también él es hijo de Abraham, y el Hijo del hombre ha venido a buscar y a salvar lo que se había perdido".

GospelLK 19:1-10

At that time Jesus came to Jericho and intended to pass through the town.
Now a man there named Zacchaeus,
who was a chief tax collector and also a wealthy man, 
was seeking to see who Jesus was;
but he could not see him because of the crowd,
for he was short in stature. 
So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree in order to see Jesus,
who was about to pass that way.
When he reached the place, Jesus looked up and said, 
"Zacchaeus, come down quickly,
for today I must stay at your house." 
And he came down quickly and received him with joy. 
When they saw this, they began to grumble, saying, 
"He has gone to stay at the house of a sinner." 
But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord,
"Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor,
and if I have extorted anything from anyone
I shall repay it four times over."
And Jesus said to him,
"Today salvation has come to this house
because this man too is a descendant of Abraham. 
For the Son of Man has come to seek
and to save what was lost."

Meditacion:

Que linda en su simpleza es la conversion de Zaqueo! Y como me r

How beautiful in its simplicity is the conversion of Zacchaeus! And as it reminds me of our own life!

We can compare Zacchaeus with the rich young man who, at the invitation of Jesus to follow him, decided to follow his path; Zacchaeus, on the other hand, Jesus worried him, wanted to know him and went to him. He made several decisions of which we can learn. He decided, he climbed into a tree, he welcomed Jesus joyfully and decided to change his life.

In return Jesus exclaims: "Today salvation has come to this house!"

Let's learn from this ... the invitation to follow Jesus must be constantly present in our life, it is not a question of going to a conversion retreat, saying yes and leaving happy ... it is a daily, permanent decision that will change our lives.

Sometimes even after that decision we should make difficult changes in our lives, abandon people or groups that no longer follow Christ.

And finally, a fragment of the Apocalypse that is the first reading of today and that I think is very good for this Tuesday, almost the beginning of Advent:

"I rebuke and correct everyone I love." React, then, and amend, "I'm here, knocking on the door, if anyone hears my voice and opens, I'll go into his house and have dinner together."

To the one who overcomes I will sit with me on my throne; just as I, when I conquered, I sat with my Father on his throne "(Revelation 3. 14-22)

"Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I want to imitate Zacchaeus and receive you in my home. Come and dine with me, Lord. "Amen

ecuerda nuestra propia vida!

A Zaqueo lo podemos comparar con el joven rico que, ante la invitacion de Jesus a seguirlo, decidio seguir su camino; en cambio a Zaqueo Jesus le inquietaba, queria conocerlo y fue a El. Y toma varias decisiones de las cuales podemos aprender.. decidido, se sube a un arbol, recibe, alegre a Jesus y decide cambiar su vida.

A cambio Jesus exclama: "Hoy la salvacion ha llegado a esta casa!"

Aprendamos de esto.. la invitacion a seguir a Jesus debe estar presente constantemente en nuestra vida, no es cuestion de ir a un retiro de conversion, decir si y salir contentos.. es una decision diaria, permanente y que nos cambiara la vida.

A veces incluso detras de esa decision debamos hacer cambios dificiles en nuestra vida, abandonar personas o grupos que ya no siguen a Cristo.

Y para terminar, un fragmente del Apocalipsis que es la primera lectura de hoy dia y que me parece bien muy bien para este martes, casi comienzo del Adviento:

"Yo reprendo y corrijo a todos los que amo. Reacciona, pues, y enmiéndate. Mira que estoy aquí, tocando la puerta; si alguno escucha mi voz y me abre, entraré a su casa y cenaremos juntos.

Al que venza lo sentaré conmigo en mi trono; lo mismo que yo, cuando vencí, me senté con mi Padre en su trono" (Apocalipsis 3. 14-22)

“Amado Señor Jesucristo, quiero imitar a Zaqueo y recibirte en mi casa. Ven a cenar conmigo, Señor.” Amen

Amor perdido

Lc 18, 35-43

En aquel tiempo, cuando Jesús se acercaba a Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado a un lado del camino, pidiendo limosna. Al oír que pasaba gente, preguntó qué era aquello, y le explicaron que era Jesús el nazareno, que iba de camino. Entonces él comenzó a gritar: "¡Jesús, hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!" Los que iban adelante lo regañaban para que se callara, pero él se puso a gritar más fuerte: "¡Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!"

Entonces Jesús se detuvo y mandó que se lo trajeran. Cuando estuvo cerca, le preguntó: "¿Qué quieres que haga por ti?" Él le contestó: "Señor, que vea". Jesús le dijo: "Recobra la vista; tu fe te ha curado".

Enseguida el ciego recobró la vista y lo siguió, bendiciendo a Dios. Y todo el pueblo, al ver esto, alababa a Dios.

GospelLK 18:35-43

As Jesus approached Jericho
a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging,
and hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what was happening.
They told him,
"Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
He shouted, "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!"
The people walking in front rebuked him,
telling him to be silent,
but he kept calling out all the more,
"Son of David, have pity on me!"
Then Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to him;
and when he came near, Jesus asked him,
"What do you want me to do for you?"
He replied, "Lord, please let me see."
Jesus told him, "Have sight; your faith has saved you."
He immediately received his sight
and followed him, giving glory to God.
When they saw this, all the people gave praise to God.

Meditacion:

Si bien generalmente no comento la primera lectura, la de hoy que es el comienzo del libro del Apocalipsis tiene mucho que ver con el evangelio asi que vamos a leer una partecita y despues charlamos:

"Conozco tus obras, tu esfuerzo y tu paciencia; sé que no puedes soportar a los malvados, que pusiste a prueba a los que se llamaban apóstoles sin serlo, y descubriste que eran unos mentirosos. Eres tenaz, has sufrido por mí y no te has rendido a la fatiga. Pero tengo en contra tuya que ya no tienes el mismo amor que al principio. Recuerda de dónde has caído, arrepiéntete y vuelve a proceder como antes' ". (Apocalipsis 2. 1-5)

Aqui se estan refiriendo a la Iglesia de Efeso y si bien Dios por medio de su profeta valora todo lo que la Iglesia habia hecho, tambien les dice que se quedaron sin amor. El amor es la esencia misma del cristianismo y la base de la ley y los profetas. Jesús prodigó su amor incondicional a sus discípulos y luego les mandó que pusieran ese amor en práctica en el diario vivir.

Al ir perdiendo este amor, la iglesia de Éfeso corría el riesgo de privarse de la gracia y la protección divina y podía llegar a convertirse simplemente en un grupo social, un club o una asociación de personas activas y dedicadas, pero sin que su vida fuera un testimonio de la gracia y del poder sobrenatural del Señor; por eso, Dios les quitaría el candelabro, es decir, el testimonio de la gloria divina en su comunidad.

Muchas veces he visto esto ocurrir en diferentes grupos de formacion catolica... se preocupan mas por las formas y las normas que por el amor de Dios; hay que saber valorar lo de Dios en su momento.

Y todo esto entonces hacer ver al grupo como el ciego de este evangelio, gritando por compasion y preguntando que es eso del Amor de Dios; cuando un ciego toma conciencia de que alguien lo puede curar, grita y no para de gritar hasta ser oido por Jesus que le pregunta que quiere?... que quisieramos nosotros, almas sin fe a veces, para nosotros mismos? tal vez el amor fraternal que nos falta?, la misericordia para comprender al hermano?. Lo que sea que nos falta no siempre es tan claro como el ciego que sabia que queria.

Por eso la oracion permanente es importante para meditar sobre nosotros mismos y pedir como el compasion y curacion, tanto para nosotros como para los grupos de formacion que participemos.

“Padre eterno, restituye en nosotros el primer amor que tuvimos por ti y continúa colmándonos de tu amor, para que seamos luminarias que brillen siempre con el resplandor de tu presencia.” Amen

While I do not usually comment on the first reading, the one today that is the beginning of the book of Revelation has a lot to do with the gospel, so we are going to read a little part and then we talk:

"I know your works, your effort and your patience, I know that you can not stand the wicked, that you tested those who called themselves apostles without being so, and you discovered that they were liars.You are tenacious, you have suffered for me and you have not You have surrendered to fatigue, but I have against you that you no longer have the same love as at the beginning, remember where you have fallen from, repent and proceed as before. '" (Revelation 2. 1-5)

Here they are referring to the Church of Ephesus and while God through his prophet values everything the Church had done, he also tells them that they were left without love. Love is the very essence of Christianity and the basis of the law and the prophets. Jesus lavished his unconditional love on his disciples and then ordered them to put that love into practice in daily life.

As this love was lost, the Ephesian church risked depriving itself of divine grace and protection and could simply become a social group, a club or an association of active and dedicated people, but without their life a testimony of the grace and supernatural power of the Lord; therefore, God would take away the candelabrum, that is, the testimony of the divine glory in their community.

Many times I have seen this happen in different groups of Catholic formation ... they care more about the forms and rules than for the love of God; we must know how to value God at the time.

And all this then make the group look like the blind man of this gospel, shouting out of compassion and asking what is that of the Love of God; When a blind man realizes that someone can heal him, he screams and keeps screaming until he is heard by Jesus asking him what he wants? ... What would we, souls without faith sometimes, wish for ourselves? perhaps the fraternal love that we lack ?, the mercy to understand the brother ?. Whatever we lack is not always as clear as the blind man who knew what he wanted.

That is why the permanent prayer is important to meditate on ourselves and ask for compassion and healing, both for ourselves and for the formation groups that we participate.

"Eternal Father, restore in us the first love we had for you and continue to fill us with your love, so that we may be luminaries that shine with the radiance of your presence." Amen

Fe sobre la tierra

Lc 18, 1-8

En aquel tiempo, para enseñar a sus discípulos la necesidad de orar siempre y sin desfallecer, Jesús les propuso esta parábola:

"En cierta ciudad había un juez que no temía a Dios ni respetaba a los hombres. Vivía en aquella misma ciudad una viuda que acudía a él con frecuencia para decirle: 'Hazme justicia contra mi adversario'.

Por mucho tiempo, el juez no le hizo caso, pero después se dijo: 'Aunque no temo a Dios ni respeto a los hombres, sin embargo, por la insistencia de esta viuda, voy a hacerle justicia para que no me siga molestando' ".

Dicho esto, Jesús comentó: "Si así pensaba el juez injusto, ¿creen acaso que Dios no hará justicia a sus elegidos, que claman a él día y noche, y que los hará esperar? Yo les digo que les hará justicia sin tardar. Pero, cuando venga el Hijo del hombre, ¿creen que encontrará fe sobre la tierra?"

GospelLK 18:1-8

Jesus told his disciples a parable
about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. 
He said, "There was a judge in a certain town
who neither feared God nor respected any human being. 
And a widow in that town used to come to him and say,
'Render a just decision for me against my adversary.'
For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought,
'While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, 
because this widow keeps bothering me
I shall deliver a just decision for her
lest she finally come and strike me.'" 
The Lord said, "Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. 
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones
who call out to him day and night? 
Will he be slow to answer them? 
I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. 
But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

Meditacion:

"Pide y se os dara" dice el evangelio y sin duda a la hora de leer el evangelio de hoy, es facil recordar la otra pero a todos nos ha pasado que hemos pedido insistentemente algo con fe y no nos ha sido concedido.

"No tuvimos suficiente fe" o "Dios tiene algo mejor para nosotros" suelen ser las respuestas medias facilongas que por alli los clerigos nos sueltan.

Lucas nos ofrece una lección muy sencilla de confianza para hacer oración de petición. La parábola es elocuente: si hasta un juez inicuo acaba concediendo lo que se le pide con perseverancia, cuánto más lo dará Dios, que ciertamente no es inicuo. Pero también aquí aparece la preocupación del evangelista por algún tipo de enfriamiento en la fe de su comunidad, en la que se supone que “el Hijo del Hombre tardará en llegar”.

La lección sobre la confianza es quizá demasiado sencilla, y más de un cristiano sincero dirá que eso no se cumple literalmente, y que la conocida oración de San Bernardo a la Virgen, según la cual “jamás se ha oído decir …”, queda algo desmentida por la experiencia, incluso cuando la petición se hace al Padre; hay personas que lamentan no haber sido escuchadas; y recurrir a que “habrán pedido con poca fe” puede ser una escapatoria facil. Tal vez el mismo evangelio nos proporcione los matices convenientes. Según Lc 11,13, lo que asegura Jesús es que el Padre, a imagen de un buen padre terreno, “dará el Espíritu Santo a los que se lo pidan”. Y San Pablo, para que relativicemos con humildad nuestra forma de orar, nos enseña que “no sabemos pedir como conviene” (Rm 8,26). Más desconcertante resulta el hecho, insinuado por la carta a los Hebreos, de que al parecer incluso Jesús se haya quedado corto en su petición: “en los días de su vida mortal, oró con clamor y lágrimas a quien podía librarle de la muerte, y fue escuchado por su reverencial temor” (Hb 5,7). ¡De hecho el Padre no ahorró a Jesús pasar por la angustia de la muerte!

Lo que pasa generalmente es que pedimos algo conveniente a nosotros y nuestra vida y no muy conveniente al plan que Dios preparo para nosotros.

El secreto para hacer una oracion profunda, comprometida y efectiva es dejar que Dios actue en nuestra vida, incluyendo la frase "que se haga tu voluntad" o la muy esenia jaculatoria "es mi voluntad que se haga tu voluntad"

“Padre celestial, enséñame a confiar en ti y amarte más cada día. Fortalece mi fe, Señor, para caminar contigo y entregarte todo mi corazón.” Amen

"Ask and it will be given to you" says the Gospel and without a doubt at the time of reading the Gospel today, it is easy to remember the other one but it has happened to all of us that we have insistently asked for something with faith and it has not been granted to us.

"We did not have enough faith" or "God has something better for us" are usually the easy half answers that the clergy release us there.

Luke offers us a very simple lesson of confidence to make prayer of petition. The parable is eloquent: if even a wicked judge ends up granting what is asked of him with perseverance, how much more will God give him, which is certainly not wicked. But here also appears the evangelist's concern for some kind of cooling in the faith of his community, in which it is supposed that "the Son of Man will delay in arriving".

The lesson about trust is perhaps too simple, and more than a sincere Christian will say that this is not true literally, and that the well-known prayer of Saint Bernard to the Virgin, according to which "one never heard ..." remains denied by experience, even when the request is made to the Father; there are people who regret not having been heard; and to resort to "having asked with little faith" can be an easy escape. Maybe the same gospel will give us the right nuances. According to Lk 11,13, what Jesus says is that the Father, in the image of a good earthly father, "will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him." And Saint Paul, so that we can humbly relativize our way of praying, teaches us that "we do not know how to ask as it should" (Rm 8,26). More puzzling is the fact, hinted at in the letter to the Hebrews, that even Jesus seems to have fallen short of his request: "In the days of his mortal life, he prayed with tears and tears to those who could deliver him from death, and he was heard for his reverential fear "(Hb 5,7). In fact, the Father did not save Jesus from going through the anguish of death!

What usually happens is that we ask something that is convenient for us and our life and not very convenient for the plan that God prepared for us.

The secret to making a deep, committed and effective prayer is to let God act in our life, including the phrase "that your will be done" or the very esseia ejaculatory "it is my will that your will be done"

"Heavenly Father, teach me to trust you and love you more each day. Strengthen my faith, Lord, to walk with you and surrender all my heart. "Amen

Estemos preparados...

Lc 17, 26-37

En aquellos días, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Lo que sucedió en el tiempo de Noé también sucederá en el tiempo del Hijo del hombre: comían y bebían, se casaban hombres y mujeres, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca; entonces vino el diluvio y los hizo perecer a todos.

Lo mismo sucedió en el tiempo de Lot: comían y bebían, compraban y vendían, sembraban y construían, pero el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió fuego y azufre del cielo y los hizo perecer a todos. Pues lo mismo sucederá el día en que el Hijo del hombre se manifieste.

Aquél día, el que esté en la azotea y tenga sus cosas en la casa, que no baje a recogerlas; y el que esté en el campo, que no mire hacia atrás. Acuérdense de la mujer de Lot. Quien intente conservar su vida, la perderá; y quien la pierda, la conservará.

Yo les digo: aquella noche habrá dos en un mismo lecho: uno será tomado y el otro abandonado; habrá dos mujeres moliendo juntas: una será tomada y la otra abandonada''.

Entonces, los discípulos le dijeron: "¿Dónde sucederá eso, Señor?" Y él les respondió: "Donde hay un cadáver, se juntan los buitres".

GospelLK 17:26-37

Jesus said to his disciples:
"As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;
they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage up to the day
that Noah entered the ark,
and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot:
they were eating, drinking, buying,
selling, planting, building;
on the day when Lot left Sodom,
fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.
So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, someone who is on the housetop
and whose belongings are in the house
must not go down to get them,
and likewise one in the field
must not return to what was left behind.
Remember the wife of Lot.
Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it,
but whoever loses it will save it.
I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed;
one will be taken, the other left.
And there will be two women grinding meal together;
one will be taken, the other left." 
They said to him in reply, "Where, Lord?"
He said to them, "Where the body is,
there also the vultures will gather."

Meditacion:

Hay un dicho entre los militares del mundo que viene del libro "El arte de la guerra" de Sun Tzu. El dicho dice "cuando acaba la batalla, el guerrero se ajusta su armadura".

Este evangelio es como ese dicho... no se dejen caer, no se descuiden, esten siempre listos para que Dios venga en su gloria o ser llamados a la vista del Padre.

La vision que hace Jesus de ese momento es apocaliptica y descriptiva, un juicio sumamente severo a toda la humanidad, donde ya sera tarde para el arrepentimiento.

Nosotros, sumidos en nuestros problemas economicos o  personales ni creemos mucho en esa clase profesias... pero deberiamos.

Como catolicos, debemos estar listos en cualquier momento asi que hagamos un check in list de lo que debemos hacer:

A) Hacemos la voluntad de Dios o solo cuando nos conviene?

B) Tenemos practicas espirituales solidas, constantes y llevadas a cabo de una manera conciente?

C) Producto de las dos anteriores nos esforzamos por vivir en nuestra propia vida el evangelio y reflejar con nuestra vida lo que el evangelio propone?

D) Misionamos con nuestros propios amigos, relaciones, compañeros de trabajo y extraños?

E) Ejercemos la compasion, la caridad y la misericordia alrededor nuestro?

Dejo afuera otras importantes como el conocimiento cada vez mayor de nuestro Padre Celestial pero mas o menos esa es la lista, ya la tienen ahora, lean cada uno su propia vida y decida donde anda "flojo de papeles"

Dicen los teologos que Dios es un Padre amantisimo que espera nuestro arrepentimiento hasta el ultimo segundo de nuestras vidas pero mejor comenzar porque de nuevo.. nadie sabe cuando nos tocara..

“Amado Señor, concédenos la gracia de estar preparados para el día en que nos llames a irnos contigo.” Amen

There is a saying among the military of the world that comes from the book "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. The saying says "when the battle is over, the warrior adjusts his armor."

This gospel is like that saying ... do not let yourselves fall, do not neglect yourselves, always be ready for God to come in his glory or be called in the sight of the Father.

The vision that Jesus makes of that moment is apocalyptic and descriptive, a very severe judgment to all humanity, where it will be too late for repentance.

We, immersed in our economic or personal problems, do not believe much in that class of professions ... but we should.

As Catholics, we must be ready at any time so let's check-list what we should do:

A) Do we do God's will or only when it suits us?

B) Do we have solid spiritual practices, constant and carried out in a conscious way?

C) Product of the previous two we strive to live in our own life the gospel and reflect with our life what the gospel proposes?

D) Do we work with our own friends, relationships, co-workers and strangers?

E) Do we exercise compassion, charity and mercy around us?

I leave out other important ones like the increasing knowledge of our Heavenly Father but more or less that is the list, they have it now, read each one your own life and decide where you are "lazy of papers"

Theologians say that God is a loving Father who expects our repentance until the last second of our lives but better to start because again .. nobody knows when he touched us ..

"Beloved Lord, grant us the grace to be ready for the day you call us to go with you." Amen
