Lc 6, 36-38
No juzguen y no serán juzgados; no condenen y no serán condenados; perdonen y serán perdonados.
GospelLK 6:36-38
Jesus said to his disciples:
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
"Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and gifts will be given to you;
a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing,
will be poured into your lap.
For the measure with which you measure
will in return be measured out to you."
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
"Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and gifts will be given to you;
a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing,
will be poured into your lap.
For the measure with which you measure
will in return be measured out to you."
Meditacion:
Amen.
Today's Gospel is short and concise, a counsel that Jesus leaves us for our lives and something that I had already talked about last week ... the law of reciprocity that comes to be something like "what you will give, you will receive "
In that context Jesus says "do not judge, be merciful, give to receive ...". This short gospel, one of my favorites, is a complete plan of life; If we only respect these councils in our lives, we would live much happier, with heaven on earth.
There is an old fable that says:
"The god Prometheus, in modeling men, hung them two saddlebags, one of foreign defects, another of their own defects. The one of the others put it in front, but the other hanged it behind.
From then on it happens to men who from afar see the defects of others, but do not look at their own. This fable refers to the meddlesome man who, blind in his own affairs, deals with those that do not concern him. "
We live in a social world and in society and we are passionate about knowing "what the neighbor does" but we must tend to a life of mercy, understood as the "love of the heart", a love of brothers that does not judge the actions of the other but, from his love, helps the other is better.
So we turn our vision and instead of putting it in us looking at what the other does, we put it in us, trying to help the other to be better ... what do you think?
I leave them homework ... for life. Amen.
