Todavia no comprenden??

Evangelio según San Marcos 8,14-21.

Los discípulos se habían olvidado de llevar pan y no tenían más que un pan en la barca. 

Jesús les hacía esta recomendación: “Estén atentos, cuídense de la levadura de los fariseos y de la levadura de Herodes”. 

Ellos discutían entre sí, porque no habían traído pan. 

Jesús se dio cuenta y les dijo: “¿A qué viene esa discusión porque no tienen pan? ¿Todavía no comprenden ni entienden? Ustedes tienen la mente enceguecida. 

Tienen ojos y no ven, oídos y no oyen. ¿No recuerdan 

cuántas canastas llenas de sobras recogieron, cuando repartí cinco panes entre cinco mil personas?”. Ellos le respondieron: “Doce”. 

“Y cuando repartí siete panes entre cuatro mil personas, ¿cuántas canastas llenas de trozos recogieron?”. Ellos le respondieron: “Siete”. 

Entonces Jesús les dijo: “¿Todavía no comprenden?”

The disciples had forgotten to bring bread,
and they had only one loaf with them in the boat.
Jesus enjoined them, "Watch out,
guard against the leaven of the Pharisees
and the leaven of Herod." 
They concluded among themselves that
it was because they had no bread.
When he became aware of this he said to them,
"Why do you conclude that it is because you have no bread?
Do you not yet understand or comprehend?
Are your hearts hardened?
Do you have eyes and not see, ears and not hear?
And do you not remember,
when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand,
how many wicker baskets full of fragments you picked up?"
They answered him, "Twelve."
"When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand,
how many full baskets of fragments did you pick up?"
They answered him, "Seven."
He said to them, "Do you still not understand?"

Meditacion:

El evangelio de hoy es muy interesante. Hay dos cosas que entender aca. La primera, los apostoles estaban totalmente distraidos, mientras discutian sobre quien se habia olvidado de comprar el pan, Jesus les estaba recordando "cuidarse de la levadura de los fariseos  y de Herodes". Esto es, no caer en la vanidad y el falso erudismo que ostentaba la jerarquia eclesiastica.

Hay una fina linea que separa el poseer un conocimiento un poquito mejor de nuestra Iglesia y volvernos vanidosos por eso. Debemos cultivar en nosotros una serena confianza respecto a lo que podemos y conocemos y aplicar nuestros conocimientos siempre de una manera modesta y humilde.

El segundo punto se refiere a la discusion de los panes. Jesus entra en el tema y les dice con una analogia "no se preocupen, yo proveere..." 

Esto lo he visto muchas veces, cada dia, en casi toda persona que se acerca a Dios... el primer temor a vences es el temor a que Dios cambie tu vida y te provea con lo que necesitas. No estamos en control y no sabemos que va a pasar y nos causa temor. La falta de fe es claramente la causante de este temor.

Hay que orar mucho, hay que confiar mucho para que esa falta de fe no afecte nuestra entrega. "No se preocupen" -dice Jesus- "hagan mi voluntad y yo los llevare a lugares que jamas se han imaginado.." y sin embargo, el temor nos gana.

El demonio tiene muchas  caras y la mas conocida es el miedo, ese que paraliza y no nos deja tomar decisiones, nos mantiene en un sitio oscuro, no nos deja evolucionar.

Ese temor no se ira mientras nosotros confiadamente no demos nuestro consentimiento a Dios para que cambie nuestras vidas.. y estemos dispuesto a hacerlo.

Nunca se olviden que somos co creador de nuestras vidas con Jesus. Amen

The gospel of today is very interesting. There are two things to understand here. The first, the apostles were totally distracted, while discussing who had forgotten to buy the bread, Jesus was reminding them to "take care of the leaven of the Pharisees and Herod". That is, not to fall into the vanity and false erudism that the ecclesiastical hierarchy held.
There is a fine line that separates having a little better knowledge of our Church and becoming vain about it. We must cultivate in ourselves a calm confidence regarding what we can and know and apply our knowledge always in a modest and humble way.
The second point refers to the discussion of the loaves. Jesus enters the subject and tells them with an analogy "do not worry, I will provide ..."
I have seen this many times, every day, in almost every person who approaches God ... the first fear of coming is the fear that God will change your life and provide you with what you need. We are not in control and we do not know what is going to happen and it causes us fear. Lack of faith is clearly the cause of this fear.
You have to pray a lot, you have to trust a lot so that lack of faith does not affect our delivery. "Do not worry," Jesus says, "do my will and I will take you to places you have never imagined ..." and yet, fear wins.
The devil has many faces and the best known is fear, that which paralyzes us and does not allow us to make decisions, keeps us in a dark place, does not let us evolve.
That fear will not go away as long as we confidently do not give our consent to God to change our lives ... and we are willing to do so.

Never forget that we are the co-creator of our lives with Jesus. Amen
