Con que autoridad??

Mc 11, 27-33

En aquel tiempo, Jesús y sus discípulos llegaron de nuevo a Jerusalén, y mientras Jesús caminaba por el templo, se le acercaron los sumos sacerdotes, los escribas y los ancianos, y le preguntaron: “¿Con qué autoridad haces todo esto? ¿Quién te ha dado autoridad para actuar así?”

Jesús les respondió: “Les voy a hacer una pregunta. Si me la contestan yo les diré con qué autoridad hago todo esto. El bautismo de Juan, ¿era cosa de Dios o de los hombres? Contéstenme”.

Ellos se pusieron a razonar entre sí: “Si le decimos que de Dios, nos dirá: ‘Entonces ¿por qué no le creyeron?’, y ¿si le decimos que de los hombres…?” Pero, como le tenían miedo a la multitud, pues todos consideraban a Juan como verdadero profeta, le respondieron a Jesús: “No lo sabemos”. Entonces Jesús les replicó: “Pues tampoco yo les diré con qué autoridad hago todo esto”.

GospelMK 11:27-33

Jesus and his disciples returned once more to Jerusalem.
As he was walking in the temple area,
the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders
approached him and said to him,
"By what authority are you doing these things?
Or who gave you this authority to do them?"
Jesus said to them, "I shall ask you one question.
Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 
Was John's baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me."
They discussed this among themselves and said,
"If we say, 'Of heavenly origin,' he will say,
'Then why did you not believe him?'
But shall we say, 'Of human origin'?"– 
they feared the crowd,
for they all thought John really was a prophet.
So they said to Jesus in reply, "We do not know."
Then Jesus said to them,
"Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things."

Meditacion:

Ayer me toco volar a New York por trabajo y por eso no hubo lectura ni meditacion, hoy retomamos con este evangelio que nos pregunta sobre la autoridad de Jesus. Jesús nos deja una vez más desconcertados. Para Él no pareciera haber demasiadas normas inamovibles; más bien, todo está en función de Dios y su Reino… ¡todo! 

La pregunta que le hacen los escribas y fariseos en el Templo no se refiere a ningún asunto teológico ni escriturístico… no. Le preguntan por su autoridad, que en el fondo, es tanto como preguntarle de dónde viene esa libertad personal tan contundente y tan libre. Nadie tiene más autoridad que quien es libre. Alguien que actúa siguiendo las normas o los dictados de otros, difícilmente tendrá autoridad. Puede mandar, puede asustar, puede organizar…. Pero no tendrá autoridad personal.

Esta vez, Jesús no quiere contestarles (parece que se mantiene en la actitud de ayer con la higuera). Y sin embargo, me atrevo a dejar que sea el salmo de hoy quien nos de la respuesta.

Jesús, ¿con qué autoridad haces esto? ¿Quién te ha dado semejante autoridad? 

Y Jesús, lentamente, nos contesta desde el salmo 62:

"Mi alma está sedienta de Dios, mi Señor y mi Padre. Por él madrugo, mi carne le ansía como tierra reseca, agostada, sin agua. Para mí, su gracia vale más que la vida, y mis labios le alaban continuamente, porque mi vida tiene sentido en bendecirle a Él, que me sacia como de enjundia y de manteca. De mi Padre y mi Dios, viene mi libertad y mi autoridad. De Él también mi sed."  

Y ante esto, nadie se atrevió a preguntar nada más. Algunos se fueron lentamente. Otros pidieron a Dios un poco más de esa sed y esa agua. Amen

Yesterday I had to fly to New York for work and that's why there was no reading or meditation, today we return to this gospel that asks us about the authority of Jesus. Jesus leaves us once more baffled. For Him there does not seem to be too many immovable norms; rather, everything is in function of God and his Kingdom ... everything!

The question asked by the scribes and Pharisees in the Temple does not refer to any theological or scriptural issues ... no. They ask him for his authority, which in the end is as much as asking him where this personal freedom comes from, so forceful and so free. Nobody has more authority than who is free. Someone who acts according to the rules or dictates of others, will hardly have authority. You can send, you can scare, you can organize ... But he will not have personal authority.

This time, Jesus does not want to answer them (it seems that he remains in yesterday's attitude with the fig tree). And yet, I dare to let today's Psalm give us the answer.

Jesus, by what authority do you do this? Who gave you such authority?

And Jesus, slowly, answers us from Psalm 62:

"My soul thirsts for God, my Lord and my Father, I wake up early, my flesh craves for it like parched earth, withered, without water, for me, its grace is worth more than life, and my lips praise it continually, because My life has a meaning in blessing Him, which satisfies me as a substance and as a lard From my Father and my God comes my freedom and my authority, from Him also my thirst. "

And before this, nobody dared to ask anything else. Some left slowly. Others asked God for a little more of that thirst and that water. Amen
