Felices...

Mt 5, 1-12

En aquel tiempo, cuando Jesús vio a la muchedumbre, subió al monte y se sentó. Entonces se le acercaron sus discípulos. Enseguida comenzó a enseñarles, hablándoles así:

“Dichosos los pobres de espíritu,
porque de ellos es el Reino de los cielos.
Dichosos los que lloran,
porque serán consolados.
Dichosos los sufridos,
porque heredarán la tierra.
Dichosos los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia,
porque serán saciados.
Dichosos los misericordiosos,
porque obtendrán misericordia.
Dichosos los limpios de corazón,
porque verán a Dios.
Dichosos los que trabajan por la paz,
porque se les llamará hijos de Dios.
Dichosos los perseguidos por causa de la justicia,
porque de ellos es el Reino de los cielos.
Dichosos serán ustedes cuando los injurien, los persigan y digan cosas falsas de ustedes por causa mía. Alégrense y salten de contento, porque su premio será grande en los cielos, puesto que de la misma manera persiguieron a los profetas que vivieron antes que ustedes”.

GospelMT 5:1-12

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,
and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. 
He began to teach them, saying:

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you
and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad,
for your reward will be great in heaven.
Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Meditacion:

Cuando vivimos a la luz de la gracia, nada de lo que ocurre en nuestras vidas es casualidad.. es Dios dandonos otra magnifica clase de humanidad y amor fraterno.

Anoche termino mi retiro anual, por 3 dias comparti con mis hermanos monjes trapenses la sencillez de los salmos cantados, la profundidad de su fe, el enorme valor de la oracion...

Y hoy, me encuentro con mi lectura favorita, el sermon de la montaña.

Particularmente pienso que el sermon es el resumen de todo lo que Jesus vino a enseñarnos.. no solo es un pasaje hermoso, lleno de simbolismos sino tambien un plan de vida para nosotros y para toda la humanidad.

Porque cuanto mas vivo, mas me doy cuenta que ser santo es ser cada dia mas humano, mas sensible a las necesidades de mis hermanos, mas responsable de mis acciones.

Y tambien profundizar mis raices en la espiritualidad para que las pequeñas cosas de cada dia no nos afecten. Cuando vivimos en la gracia, los pequeños problemas diarios, las peleas, las discusiones, el trafico de cada dia, lo cotidiano se ilumina a la luz de la fe y, al igual que cuando lanzamos una piedra a un lago tranquilo, en la superficie se hacen ondas, pero abajo, en lo profundo, todo es quietud y calma.

El sermon de la montana no es propiedad de la Iglesia Catolica, es un canto a toda la humanidad; en su punto siete, señala "dichoso los que trabajan por la paz porque se les llamara hijos de Dios" y es este punto en especial en el que yo siempre hago hincapie cuando hablo de que el camino de la santidad es para todos, no para unos pocos, no solo para los catolicos. Busquemos la paz, busquemos la misericordia, busquemos la justicia para nosotros y todos nuestros hermanos pero busquemosla desde la calma, la alegria y la quietud de los misericordiosos, los limpios de corazon y los justos. Amen

When we live in the light of grace, nothing that happens in our lives is chance ... it is God bringing us another magnificent kind of humanity and brotherly love.

Last night I ended my annual retreat, for 3 days I shared with my brother Trappist monks the simplicity of the sung psalms, the depth of their faith, the enormous value of prayer ...

And today, I find my favorite reading, the sermon of the mountain.

Particularly I think that the sermon is the summary of everything that Jesus came to teach us ... not only is it a beautiful passage, full of symbolism but also a plan of life for us and for all humanity.

Because the more I live, the more I realize that being a saint is becoming more human every day, more sensitive to the needs of my brothers, more responsible for my actions.

And also deepen my roots in spirituality so that the little things of each day do not affect us. When we live in grace, the small daily problems, the fights, the discussions, the traffic of every day, the everyday is illuminated in the light of faith and, like when we throw a stone into a calm lake, on the surface waves are made, but down, deep down, everything is stillness and calmness.

The sermon of the mountain is not property of the Catholic Church, it is a song to all humanity; in point seven, "those who work for peace because they are called children of God" says "happy" and this is a special point in which I always emphasize when I say that the path of holiness is for everyone, not for a few, not only for Catholics. Let us seek peace, seek mercy, seek justice for ourselves and all our brothers but let us seek it from the calm, joy and quiet of the merciful, the pure in heart and the righteous. Amen
