Corazon de Jesus

Jn 19, 31-37

Como era el día de la preparación de la Pascua, para que los cuerpos de los ajusticiados no se quedaran en la cruz el sábado, porque aquel sábado era un día muy solemne, los judíos pidieron a Pilato que les quebraran las piernas y los quitaran de la cruz.

Fueron los soldados, le quebraron las piernas a uno y luego al otro de los que habían sido crucificados con Jesús. Pero al llegar a él, viendo que ya había muerto, no le quebraron las piernas, sino que uno de los soldados le traspasó el costado con una lanza e inmediatamente salió sangre y agua.

El que vio da testimonio de esto y su testimonio es verdadero y él sabe que dice la verdad, para que también ustedes crean. Esto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo que dice la Escritura: No le quebrarán ningún hueso; y en otro lugar la Escritura dice: Mirarán al que traspasaron.

Since it was preparation day,
in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath,
for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one, 
the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken 
and they be taken down.
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first 
and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, 
they did not break his legs, 
but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, 
and immediately blood and water flowed out.
An eyewitness has testified, and his testimony is true; 
he knows that he is speaking the truth, 
so that you also may come to believe.
For this happened so that the Scripture passage might be fulfilled:
Not a bone of it will be broken.
And again another passage says:
They will look upon him whom they have pierced.

Meditation:

Hoy invitamos a la hermana Rosa Ruiz a meditar el evangelio:

Hoy celebra la Iglesia el Corazón de Jesús, su humanidad latiendo al ritmo de Dios. Sin desajustes. Sin arritmias. Puro compás. Eso que a nosotros, también humanos, nos resulta a veces tan costoso (latir al ritmo de Dios y no de otras cosas), es lo que ya Jesús ha realizado en su carne, para que nadie pueda decir: “¡es imposible!”. Puedes decir: “no sé si puedo, no sé si quiero…”, pero no podrás decir que es imposible. La plenitud que Él fue gestando día a día (no mágicamente) es la que se ha arraigado en nuestro propio corazón como fuerte raíz o fiel cimento. ¡No es imposible amar como Él, crecer como Él, tener sus mismos sentimientos y su sensibilidad!

Es un corazón quebrado, traspasado. Algo que nunca hubiera ocurrido con un corazón de piedra. No queremos la plenitud de una roca de granito impasible. Seguimos a un corazón tan débil como fracasado. Traspasado.

Quizá por eso el Corazón de Jesús sigue seduciendo a tantos hombres y mujeres débiles y fracasados como nosotros. ¿Acaso tú no te has sentido vencido en algún momento? ¿acaso nunca hubieras querido ser más fuerte para que no te quebraran? Yo sí.

Pero no es menos cierto que en esos momentos, si Dios quiere y nosotros nos dejamos hacer, descubrimos que “la gracia está en el fondo de la pena y la salud naciendo de la herida”. Y se obra el milagro de encontrar las personas más fuertes y dignas del mundo en medio de una fragilidad y pequeñez física y psíquica que sólo te empuja a arrodillarte y adorar.

Eso sí: adorar desde el corazón y al corazón. Desde la carne y en ella, en la humanidad. Si no, el Corazón que adoras no será el Corazón de Jesús. Amen

Today we invite Sister Rosa Ruiz to meditate on the Gospel:

Today the Church celebrates the Heart of Jesus, its humanity beating to the rhythm of God. Without imbalances. Without arrhythmias. Pure compass That which we, also humans, sometimes find so costly (beat to the rhythm of God and not other things), is what Jesus has already done in his flesh, so that nobody can say: "It is impossible!" . You can say: "I do not know if I can, I do not know if I want ...", but you can not say that it is impossible. The fullness that He was brewing day by day (not magically) is that which has taken root in our own heart as a strong root or faithful foundation. It is not impossible to love like Him, to grow like Him, to have his same feelings and sensitivity!

It is a broken heart, pierced. Something that would never have happened with a heart of stone. We do not want the fullness of an impassible granite rock. We follow a heart as weak as failed. Pierced.

Perhaps that is why the Heart of Jesus continues to seduce as many weak and unsuccessful men and women as we do. Have not you felt defeated at some time? Would you have never wanted to be stronger so they would not break you? I do.

But it is no less true that in those moments, if God wants and we let ourselves be done, we discover that "grace is at the bottom of grief and health born of wounds". And the miracle is to find the strongest and most worthy people in the world in the midst of a fragility and physical and psychic smallness that only pushes you to kneel and adore.

That's right: worship from the heart and the heart. From the flesh and in it, in humanity. If not, the Heart you worship will not be the Heart of Jesus. Amen
