Posesiones celestiales

Mt 6, 19-23

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “No acumulen ustedes tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el moho los destruyen, donde los ladrones perforan las paredes y se los roban. Más bien acumulen tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni el moho los destruyen, ni hay ladrones que perforen las paredes y se los roben; porque donde está tu tesoro, ahí también está tu corazón.

Tus ojos son la luz de tu cuerpo; de manera que, si tus ojos están sanos, todo tu cuerpo tendrá luz. Pero si tus ojos están enfermos, todo tu cuerpo tendrá oscuridad. Y si lo que en ti debería ser luz, no es más que oscuridad, ¡qué negra no será tu propia oscuridad!”

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal.
But store up treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

"The lamp of the body is the eye.
If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light;
but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness.
And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be."

Meditacion;

Hace un tiempo leia una encuesta a nivel mundial que hablaba de las profesiones en las cuales las personas eran mas felices y se sentian mas realizadas.

Increiblemente, encabezando la lista estaban las personas que siguen carreras religiosas como sacerdotes  y monjas y aquellos que se dedicaban a la salud.

Esta simple encuesta me puso a pensar que el servicio a los demas causa naturalmente alegria a las personas.

Muchas veces me he encontrado con personas que vienen a la consultoria para preguntarme solo una cosa... que quiere Dios de mi?, cual es mi destino? y si bien dificilmente pueda contestarle con certeza, conozco un camino facil para encontrar lo que Dios quiere de nosotros: el servir a los demas.

En un mundo ideal, no acumulariamos mas que el minimo que necesitaramos para subsistir mientras pasamos por este mundo, aprendiendo en el servicio a los demas, las lecciones que debemos aprender para seguir elevando nuestra alma.

Pero hemos sido educados en una sociedad que privilegia la seguridad por sobre todo... la seguridad de la posesion (y luego asegurar esa posesion no vaya a ser cosa que la pierda o me la roben), la seguridad de las relaciones, de nuestros trabajos y asi.. y el consumir, consumir igual que esos pollos que uno ve en los criaderos que comen y comen sin saber ni entender que su futuro sera alguna parrilla de asado de domingo.

Claro que salir de esas cuatro paredes que nosotros mismos hemos construidos y ponernos a servir y acumular y aprender las cosas que son realmente importantes lleva un tiempo y muchas renuncias, es un camino para toda la vida pero bueno... ese es el sentido de la vida.

San León I Magno escribió: “Por la gracia de Dios, hasta las cosas terrenas se transforman en celestiales cuando los hombres dedican a fines devotos las riquezas que han ganado o heredado. Cuando reparten sus bienes para dar de comer a los pobres, acumulan riquezas imperecederas.” (Sermón 92).

Cristo enseñó que, siendo generosos y sirviendo a los menos afortunados, podemos convertir las posesiones materiales en tesoros eternos. Amen

A while ago I read a worldwide survey that talked about professions in which people were happier and felt more fulfilled.

Incredibly, leading the list were people who follow religious careers as priests and nuns and those who were dedicated to health.

This simple survey made me think that service to others naturally causes happiness to people.

Many times I have met people who come to the consulting room to ask me just one thing ... what does God want from me? What is my destiny? and although I can hardly answer him with certainty, I know an easy way to find what God wants from us: to serve others.

In an ideal world, we would not accumulate more than the minimum we need to subsist while we pass through this world, learning in service to others, the lessons we must learn to continue elevating our soul.

But we have been educated in a society that privileges safety above all ... the security of possession (and then ensuring that possession is not going to be lost or stolen), the security of relationships, of our jobs and so on ... and consuming, consuming the same as those chickens that one sees in the hatcheries that eat and eat without knowing or understanding that their future will be a Sunday barbecue grill.

Of course, leaving those four walls that we have built ourselves and put to serve and accumulate and learn the things that are really important takes a while and many resignations, is a path for life but well ... that is the meaning of life.

St. Leo I Magno wrote: "By the grace of God, even earthly things are transformed into celestials when men dedicate for devoted purposes the riches they have won or inherited. When they distribute their goods to feed the poor, they accumulate undying wealth. "(Sermon 92).

Christ taught that, by being generous and serving the less fortunate, we can turn material possessions into eternal treasures. Amen
