La buena tierra

Mt 13, 18-23

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Escuchen ustedes lo que significa la parábola del sembrador. A todo hombre que oye la palabra del Reino y no la entiende, le llega el diablo y le arrebata lo sembrado en su corazón. Esto es lo que significan los granos que cayeron a lo largo del camino.

Lo sembrado sobre terreno pedregoso significa al que oye la palabra y la acepta inmediatamente con alegría; pero, como es inconstante, no la deja echar raíces, y apenas le viene una tribulación o una persecución por causa de la palabra, sucumbe.

Lo sembrado entre los espinos representa a aquel que oye la palabra, pero las preocupaciones de la vida y la seducción de las riquezas, la sofocan y queda sin fruto.

En cambio, lo sembrado en tierra buena, representa a quienes oyen la palabra, la entienden y dan fruto; unos, el ciento por uno; otros, el sesenta; y otros, el treinta''.

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Hear the parable of the sower.
The seed sown on the path is the one who hears the word of the Kingdom
without understanding it,
and the Evil One comes and steals away
what was sown in his heart.
The seed sown on rocky ground
is the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy.
But he has no root and lasts only for a time.
When some tribulation or persecution comes because of the word,
he immediately falls away.
The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word,
but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word
and it bears no fruit.
But the seed sown on rich soil
is the one who hears the word and understands it,
who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold."

Meditacion:

Los colombianos tienen una expresion para cuando quieren explicar algo de una manera sencilla, ellos dicen "te lo explico con palitos", senalando que sera una manera facil de comprender algo.

Jesus hablaba en parabolas, alegorias faciles de entender para gente sencilla como eran los apostoles y las personas del pueblo, les explicaba conceptos complejos "con palitos". Parabola mas o menos, hay 47 en todo el Nuevo Testamento

En el evangelio de hoy, Jesus nos explica la parabola del sembrador. Lo primero que se me viene a la mente... espero ser el sembrador pero tambien ser la tierra nueva y lista para sembrar donde cae la semilla.

Ayer hablabamos como las pequenas cosas de la vida a veces no nos permiten seguir creciendo como cristianos en la fe, convierten nuestra tierra lista para sembrar en algo medio lleno de malezas y piedras.

Cuantas veces al escuchar, al leer esta parábola hemos intentado identificarnos con un tipo concreto de semilla, y es curioso, según nuestro estado de ánimo, según nuestro proceso personal va cambiando.  Y nos encontramos con nuestra realidad, muchas veces no muy brillante y descubrimos que ese Reino que se nos promete, está ahí, al alcance de la mano, pero se nos escapa, hay demasiadas cosas que nos lo impiden, a veces no entendemos que nos sucede, a veces queremos encontrar en la escritura nuestras respuestas, algo que justifique nuestras conductas, algo que ratifique nuestro estilo de vida, pero eso no dura, eso se marchita, no hay consistencia; es semilla que ha caído al borde del camino.

Cuantas veces nos sentimos eufóricos, creemos que podemos comernos el mundo, pero eso si, por nuestras propias fuerzas, queremos ser autosuficientes.  Pero Dios es el que obra en nosotros, y cerrados a su poder es perder las raíces, que son la base de una fe consistente.  Autosuficiencia y constancia son incompatibles, somos criaturas que se crecen y se mantienen del sustento de su creador.

Del mismo modo, la semilla que llevamos en nuestro corazón no germinará cuando vamos en búsqueda de cosas que no nos alcanzan la plenitud, la felicidad completa.  Buscamos fama, dinero, posición, y olvidamos que el reino es sinónimo de pequeñez, de ocultamiento.  Sólo así encontraremos frutos, lo que sean, pero habrá fruto; las capacidades o importan, los resultados dan lo mismo.  Es ser y darse.

Lo sembrado en tierra fértil que germina requiere dejarse preparar, que el arado entre profundo, que espere paciente la lluvia que le empapará, que no desespere en la oscuridad y que se duela en el esfuerzo.  Será primavera y dará fruto abundante porque el sembrador es el que se desvive por su cosecha.

Vayamos hoy a encontrarnos con Jesús en la oración; él es el único que puede prepararnos para su cosecha.

“Señor, Salvador mío, ayúdame a fijar la vista en tu voluntad. Permite que tu Palabra cobre vida en mí al leer y meditar en la Sagrada Escritura, para que la entienda y reciba sanación. Te entrego mi corazón y te pido que lo uses para tu gloria. Amen

Colombians have an expression for when they want to explain something in a simple way, they say "I explain it to you with sticks", pointing out that it will be an easy way to understand something.

In today's Gospel, Jesus explains the parable of the sower. The first thing that comes to my mind ... I hope to be the sower but also to be the new land and ready to plant where the seed falls.

Yesterday we talked about how the little things in life sometimes do not allow us to continue growing as Christians in the faith, they turn our land ready to sow in something half full of weeds and stones.

How many times when listening, when reading this parable we have tried to identify ourselves with a specific type of seed, and it is curious, according to our state of mind, according to our personal process it is changing. And we find our reality, often not very bright and discover that Kingdom that is promised, is there, within reach, but it escapes us, there are too many things that prevent us, sometimes we do not understand that we happens, sometimes we want to find our answers in writing, something that justifies our behaviors, something that ratifies our way of life, but that does not last, that withers, there is no consistency; it is seed that has fallen by the wayside.

How many times we feel euphoric, we believe that we can eat the world, but that if, by our own strength, we want to be self-sufficient. But God is the one who works in us, and closed to his power is losing the roots, which are the basis of a consistent faith. Self-sufficiency and perseverance are incompatible, we are creatures that grow and maintain the sustenance of their creator.

In the same way, the seed that we carry in our heart will not germinate when we go in search of things that do not reach us the fullness, the complete happiness. We seek fame, money, position, and forget that the kingdom is synonymous with smallness, concealment. Only then will we find fruits, whatever they may be, but there will be fruit; the capabilities or they matter, the results give the same. It is being and giving.

What is planted in fertile land that germinates requires letting itself be prepared, that the plow between deep, that patiently awaits the rain that will soak it, that does not despair in the darkness and that hurts in the effort. It will be spring and will bear abundant fruit because the sower is the one who can not wait for his harvest.

Let's go today to meet Jesus in prayer; He is the only one who can prepare us for his harvest.

"Lord, my Savior, help me to fix my sight on your will. Allow your Word to come alive in me as I read and meditate on Sacred Scripture, so that I understand it and receive healing. I give you my heart and I ask you to use it for your glory. Amen
