Mt 13, 10-17

GospelMT 13:10-17
The disciples approached Jesus and said,
"Why do you speak to the crowd in parables?"
He said to them in reply,
"Because knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven
has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted.
To anyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich;
from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
This is why I speak to them in parables, because
they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand.
Isaiah's prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says:
You shall indeed hear but not understand,
you shall indeed look but never see.
Gross is the heart of this people,
they will hardly hear with their ears,
they have closed their eyes,
lest they see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their hearts and be converted
and I heal them.
"But blessed are your eyes, because they see,
and your ears, because they hear.
Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people
longed to see what you see but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."

Meditacion:
Amen

Today they celebrate San Joaquin and Santa Ana. It is not a liturgical celebration but rather it is based on tradition. However, the meaning of this celebration that reminds the fathers of the Virgin Mary, apart from paying homage to the Tradition of the Church, which is a true source of our faith, wants to affirm the realism of the incarnation of the Word of God, its true insertion in human history. And, for this, it is necessary to affirm also the full humanity of Mary, to whom, sometimes, we tend to consider a being so angelic and heavenly, that is outside of our human concretion. Jesus was born of a woman (Gal 4, 4), who was the daughter of some human parents.
And let's go to this beautiful gospel of today ... that right and current words of Jesus "seeing they do not see, hearing they do not hear"!
Even today, in the middle of our diary, we often continue to let Jesus pass in small things ... in the mercy we do not share, in the unnecessary judgment of another person, in violence, in lies, in the lack of sorry ... And eye, sometimes they seem like small, insignificant, almost daily things, but nevertheless they are small things that keep us away from God.
In the path of grace and elevation, this is usually the most difficult thing to do, to pass from an attitude where we let "spend" a lot of these little things that become bad habits.
And for us, missionaries along the way, those who have already decided to live our life in Christ, are those little things that often prevent us from advancing on the path of encounter in God.
Let us ask God then to understand our sins, the strength of the Holy Spirit to change them and patience for our own humanity and that of others. Amen
