Amar....

Lc 6, 27-38

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Amen a sus enemigos, hagan el bien a los que los aborrecen, bendigan a quienes los maldicen y oren por quienes los difaman. Al que te golpee en una mejilla, preséntale la otra; al que te quite el manto, déjalo llevarse también la túnica. Al que te pida, dale; y al que se lleve lo tuyo, no se lo reclames.

Traten a los demás como quieran que los traten a ustedes; porque si aman sólo a los que los aman, ¿qué hacen de extraordinario? También los pecadores aman a quienes los aman. Si hacen el bien sólo a los que les hacen el bien, ¿qué tiene de extraordinario? Lo mismo hacen los pecadores. Si prestan solamente cuando esperan cobrar, ¿qué hacen de extraordinario? También los pecadores prestan a otros pecadores, con la intención de cobrárselo después.

Ustedes, en cambio, amen a sus enemigos, hagan el bien y presten sin esperar recompensa. Así tendrán un gran premio y serán hijos del Altísimo, porque él es bueno hasta con los malos y los ingratos. Sean misericordiosos, como su Padre es misericordioso.

No juzguen y no serán juzgados; no condenen y no serán condenados; perdonen y serán perdonados. Den y se les dará: recibirán una medida buena, bien sacudida, apretada y rebosante en los pliegues de su túnica. Porque con la misma medida conque midan, serán medidos''.

"To you who hear I say, love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you.
To the person who strikes you on one cheek,
offer the other one as well,
and from the person who takes your cloak,
do not withhold even your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks of you,
and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
For if you love those who love you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners do the same.
If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners lend to sinners,
and get back the same amount. 
But rather, love your enemies and do good to them,
and lend expecting nothing back;
then your reward will be great
and you will be children of the Most High,
for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as also your Father is merciful.

"Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and gifts will be given to you;
a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing,
will be poured into your lap.
For the measure with which you measure
will in return be measured out to you."

Meditacion:

Como en un texto escolar, podemos señalar estas partes en el evangelio de hoy. a) Exhortación solemne: Amad, bendecid, orad. Con un objeto difícil: a vuestros enemigos, a los que os odian, a los que os maldicen. b) Lo expresa con unas imágenes expresivas: Si te dan en una mejilla, le pones la otra; al que te quite la capa le dejas la túnica. c) Apunta las razones: Lo contrario también lo hacen los pecadores. d) Ofrece las promesas de Dios: tendréis un gran premio y seréis hijos del Altísimo, que es bueno con los malvados.

El evangelio traza una linea muy clara en esto del perdonar.... ser buenos entre buenos, ser naturalmente bueno, no alcanza..  se nos pide que resaltemos por nuestra bondad y caridad. incluso con los que nos atacan.

No creo que en la mayoria de los casos, viviendo en la sociedad que vivimos tengamos "enemigos" que activamente buscan nuestro mal. Segun mi experiencia, el enemigo mas peligroso que tenemos cerca, somos nosotros mismos.

Nuestra pereza, nuestra falta de compromiso con nuestra propia elevacion como alma, lo lejos que a veces estamos de practicas espirituales diarias y regulares hacen que nos vayamos quedando dormidos espiritualmente y perdiendo de vista nuestros objetivos de santidad.

Buenos como dice el evangelio, somos todos... crecer en la misericordia, la caridad y la gracia del Espiritu Santo, esa es la diferencia.

Porque para hacer eso hay que cambiar, hay que reconocerse pecador y necesitado de la gracia divina que nos impulse y dejarse moldear por el amor del Padre.

Sólo haciendo las cosas “por gracia”, y no sólo por mera justicia como la entienden los hombres, se romperá la espiral o el eslabón de la violencia y nos acercaremos a la reconciliación. No hay que esperar a que el otro pida perdón para otorgar nuestro perdón. “Dios es bueno con los malvados y desagradecidos”. ¿Más claro? Amen

As in a school text, we can point out these parts in today's gospel. a) Solemn Exhortation: Love, bless, pray. With a difficult object: your enemies, those who hate you, those who curse you. b) He expresses it with expressive images: If you get on one cheek, you put the other; If you take off the cloak, you leave the tunic. c) Write down the reasons: The sinners also do the opposite. d) Offer the promises of God: you will have a great reward and you will be children of the Most High, who is good with the wicked.

The gospel draws a very clear line in this to forgive .... be good among good, be naturally good, not enough .. we are asked to stand out for our goodness and charity. even with those who attack us.

I do not think that in most of the cases, living in the society we live in, we have "enemies" who actively seek our harm. In my experience, the most dangerous enemy that we have nearby, is ourselves.

Our laziness, our lack of commitment to our own elevation as a soul, how far we are sometimes from daily and regular spiritual practices make us fall asleep spiritually and losing sight of our holiness goals.

Good as the gospel says, we are all ... growing in the mercy, charity and grace of the Holy Spirit, that is the difference.

Because to do that we must change, we must recognize ourselves as sinners and in need of the divine grace that impels us and allow ourselves to be molded by the love of the Father.

Only by doing things "by grace", and not just by mere justice as men understand it, will the spiral or the link of violence be broken and we will approach reconciliation. Do not wait for the other to ask for forgiveness to grant our forgiveness. "God is good to the wicked and ungrateful." More clear? Amen
