Lc 8, 19-21

GospelLK 8:19-21
The mother of Jesus and his brothers came to him
but were unable to join him because of the crowd.
He was told, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside
and they wish to see you."
He said to them in reply, "My mother and my brothers
are those who hear the word of God and act on it."
but were unable to join him because of the crowd.
He was told, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside
and they wish to see you."
He said to them in reply, "My mother and my brothers
are those who hear the word of God and act on it."

Meditacion:
Amen

The gospel of today is one of those complicated means of understanding ... Jesus' response to his family members is not well understood ...
For me, the text talks about something that we may never have stopped to think about ... the salvation of each one is particular and unique, the path of elevation of each soul is private and secret, a pact of love between God and that soul.
So at that level, the family has each a different path to travel ... and we go through it, in fraternal love, yes but also in our spiritual obligations and duties.
When you see it in this so essential way, it is when the Gospel takes on a different force ... the family of Jesus are its followers, those who wish to be saints.
Since last week we have been reading about the need to sanctify our lives, concretely and realistically to consider the need for holiness as the primary and only objective.
Already the Sunday Gospel spoke of being like children and today tells us that we must follow his word.
Brothers, let us follow the word of the risen one and, humbly, take up our cross and carry it in an infinite cycle of elevation. As I always say, I hope to see you all in heaven
