Fuerza de sanacion

Lc 6, 12-19

Por aquellos días, Jesús se retiró al monte a orar y se pasó la noche en oración con Dios.

Cuando se hizo de día, llamó a sus discípulos, eligió a doce de entre ellos y les dio el nombre de apóstoles. Eran Simón, a quien llamó Pedro, y su hermano Andrés; Santiago y Juan; Felipe y Bartolomé; Mateo y Tomás; Santiago, el hijo de Alfeo, y Simón, llamado el Fanático; Judas, el hijo de Santiago, y Judas Iscariote, que fue el traidor.

Al bajar del monte con sus discípulos y sus apóstoles, se detuvo en un llano. Allí se encontraba mucha gente, que había venido tanto de Judea y Jerusalén, como de la costa, de Tiro y de Sidón. Habían venido a oírlo y a que los curara de sus enfermedades; y los que eran atormentados por espíritus inmundos quedaban curados. Toda la gente procuraba tocarlo, porque salía de él una fuerza que sanaba a todos.

Jesus departed to the mountain to pray,
and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself,
and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles:
Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew,
James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,
Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon who was called a Zealot,
and Judas the son of James,
and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

And he came down with them and stood on a stretch of level ground.
A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people 
from all Judea and Jerusalem
and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon
came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases;
and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured.
Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him
because power came forth from him and healed them all.

Meditacion:

Leemos de "ciudad redonda"

Sin papeles, sin planes, sin proyectos, sin documentos. Y qué bien organiza Jesús su jornada. Aparece la totalidad de su vida y ministerio.

De una manera gráfica, señalamos el monte y el llano. El monte es el lugar del encuentro, de la relación, de la intimidad con Dios, de la apertura al misterio. Se quedó la noche en oración con su Padre Dios. Llegada la luz del día, entre los discípulos, escogió a doce y los nombró apóstoles; entre ellos, al traidor Judas Iscariote. Ellos habían de ser el fundamento permanente de la Iglesia. Su fuerza estaría en Jesús que los había elegido. Ellos eran pobres, humildes, ignorantes, pero habían sido llamados. Todavía les quedaba por recibir el Espíritu Santo.

Ya estaba formada la comunidad de Jesús. Con ellos bajó del monte a la llanura. Aquí aparecen los personajes diferenciados. Jesús, en el centro; en torno, los doce apóstoles; luego, el grupo de los discípulos (que identificaríamos con la Iglesia); y, al fin, la gran masa de todas las gentes.

En este escenario, se despliega toda la vida de Jesús: la oración, lo primero; es la fuente y la garantía de todo. En segundo lugar, la comunidad, el grupo; estar con Jesús y vivir juntos su estilo de vida. Y, al fin, como algo espontáneo y necesario, comunicar la vida de Jesús, predicar y sanar: “Bajó con ellos”  y  “Venían a oírlo y a que les curara”. Una vez más, el mundo necesita antes testigos que maestros.

Como Jesús, nosotros buscamos la unidad. La unidad entre la oración y la actividad. La unidad entre el anuncio de la religión y el compromiso por la justicia y las obras de misericordia. Esto lo decimos mil veces, y mil veces nos damos cuenta de que es muy difícil. Pero, por lo menos, tengámoslo claro, y no nos engañemos, que no es poco.

Sentirnos llamados por Jesús, nos llena de un sentido personal, directo, de encuentro amigable. Esto facilita nuestra relación con él. A la vez, nos hace humildes; es él quien nos ha elegido, quien actúa en nosotros, a él la gloria. Incluso, nos aporta tranquilidad; “somos unos mandaos”.

Pero, todo dependerá de una circunstancia que apuntan los evangelios. Los llamó para “estar con él”. Estar con Jesús es lo primero. El encuentro con Jesús y su mensaje revolucionan a la persona. Un místico, un profeta es capaz de todo.

“Señor Jesús, dame la gracia de responder a tu llamado a formar parte de tu pueblo santo para dar gloria, honor y alabanza al Padre todopoderoso.” Amen

We read of "round city"

Without papers, without plans, without projects, without documents. And how well Jesus organizes his journey. The whole of his life and ministry appears.

In a graphic way, we point out the mountain and the plain. The mountain is the place of encounter, of relationship, of intimacy with God, of openness to mystery. He stayed the night in prayer with his Father God. In the light of day, among the disciples, he chose twelve and appointed them apostles; among them, the traitor Judas Iscariot. They were to be the permanent foundation of the Church. His strength would be in Jesus who had chosen them. They were poor, humble, ignorant, but they had been called. They still had to receive the Holy Spirit.

The community of Jesus was already formed. With them he came down from the mountain to the plain. Here the differentiated characters appear. Jesus, in the center; around, the twelve apostles; then, the group of disciples (that we would identify with the Church); and, finally, the great mass of all the people.

In this scenario, the whole life of Jesus unfolds: prayer, the first; it is the source and guarantee of everything. Second, the community, the group; be with Jesus and live their lifestyle together. And, finally, as something spontaneous and necessary, to communicate the life of Jesus, preach and heal: "He went down with them" and "They came to hear him and to heal them." Once again, the world needs witnesses before teachers.

Like Jesus, we seek unity. The unity between prayer and activity. The unity between the announcement of religion and the commitment for justice and the works of mercy. We say this a thousand times, and a thousand times we realize that it is very difficult. But, at least, let's be clear, and make no mistake, that's not little.

Feeling called by Jesus, fills us with a personal sense, direct, friendly meeting. This facilitates our relationship with him. At the same time, it humbles us; it is he who has chosen us, who acts in us, to him the glory. It even brings us peace of mind; "We are mandates."

But, everything will depend on a circumstance pointed out by the Gospels. He called them to "be with him." Being with Jesus comes first. The encounter with Jesus and his message revolutionizes the person. A mystic, a prophet is capable of everything.

"Lord Jesus, give me the grace to respond to your call to be part of your holy people to give glory, honor and praise to the almighty Father." Amen
