Mt 25, 14-30
En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos esta parábola: "El Reino de los cielos se parece también a un hombre que iba a salir de viaje a tierras lejanas; llamó a sus servidores de confianza y les encargó sus bienes. A uno le dio cinco talentos; a otro, dos; y a un tercero, uno, según la capacidad de cada uno, y luego se fue.
El que recibió cinco talentos fue enseguida a negociar con ellos y ganó otros cinco. El que recibió dos hizo lo mismo y ganó otros dos. En cambio, el que recibió un talento hizo un hoyo en la tierra y allí escondió el dinero de su señor.
Después de mucho tiempo regresó aquel hombre y llamó a cuentas a sus servidores.
Se acercó el que había recibido cinco talentos y le presentó otros cinco, diciendo: 'Señor, cinco talentos me dejaste; aquí tienes otros cinco, que con ellos he ganado'. Su señor le dijo: 'Te felicito, siervo bueno y fiel. Puesto que has sido fiel en cosas de poco valor, te confiaré cosas de mucho valor. Entra a tomar parte en la alegría de tu señor'.
Se acercó luego el que había recibido dos talentos y le dijo: 'Señor, dos talentos me dejaste; aquí tienes otros dos, que con ellos he ganado'. Su señor le dijo: 'Te felicito, siervo bueno y fiel. Puesto que has sido fiel en cosas de poco valor, te confiaré cosas de mucho valor. Entra a tomar parte en la alegría de tu señor'.
Finalmente, se acercó el que había recibido un talento y le dijo: 'Señor, yo sabía que eres un hombre duro, que quieres cosechar lo que no has plantado y recoger lo que no has sembrado. Por eso tuve miedo y fui a esconder tu talento bajo tierra. Aquí tienes lo tuyo'.
El señor le respondió: 'Siervo malo y perezoso. Sabías que cosecho lo que no he plantado y recojo lo que no he sembrado. ¿Por qué, entonces, no pusiste mi dinero en el banco, para que a mi regreso lo recibiera yo con intereses? Quítenle el talento y dénselo al que tiene diez. Pues al que tiene se le dará y le sobrará; pero al que tiene poco, se le quitará aun eso poco que tiene.
Y a este hombre inútil, échenlo fuera, a las tinieblas. Allí será el llanto y la desesperación' ".

called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them.
To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one–
to each according to his ability.
Then he went away.
Immediately the one who received five talents went and traded with them,
and made another five.

But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground
and buried his master's money.
After a long time
the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them.
The one who had received five talents
came forward bringing the additional five.
He said, 'Master, you gave me five talents.
See, I have made five more.'
His master said to him, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities.
Come, share your master's joy.'
Then the one who had received two talents also came forward and said,
'Master, you gave me two talents.
See, I have made two more.'
His master said to him, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities.
Come, share your master's joy.'
Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said,
'Master, I knew you were a demanding person,
harvesting where you did not plant
and gathering where you did not scatter;
so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground.
Here it is back.'
His master said to him in reply, 'You wicked, lazy servant!
So you knew that I harvest where I did not plant
and gather where I did not scatter?
Should you not then have put my money in the bank
so that I could have got it back with interest on my return?
Now then! Take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten.
For to everyone who has,
more will be given and he will grow rich;
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away.
And throw this useless servant into the darkness outside,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.'"

Meditacion:
Entre la parabola de ayer sobre las virgenes y el aceite y la de hoy, nos presenta dos momentos de la vida de cada uno de nosotros.
Mientras ayer se nos instaba a estar preparados para cuando Dios volviera, hoy se nos insta a ser productivos para cuando Dios vuelva podamos mostrar una vida provechosa para el espiritu.
Todos tenemos dones (y lo mas importante) todos venimos a este mundo con todo lo que necesitamos para llevar a cabo la mision que Dios quiere de nosotros y aprender las lecciones que debemos aprender. El que seamos altos, bajos, mas lindos, menos lindos, inteligentes o tal vez, practicos con herramientas todo tiene un sentido.. atravesar el camino de la vida elevandonos y aprendiendo.
Y esos son nuestros dones, los que tenemos que usar una y otra vez, siendo mejores personas cada dia.
Es verdad que algunos talentos son más fáciles de ver, de usar y de poner al servicio de los demás. Pero es verdad también que algunos talentos están ocultos, hasta que probamos a sacarlos a flote. ¿No te has planteado nunca, por ejemplo, si podrías cantar en el coro, o dar algunos cursos de refuerzo en la parroquia, si sabes matemáticas, o visitar a algún enfermo (seguro que el párroco lo agradece, y el enfermo, más), en fin, cosas que no son demasiado difíciles, pero que alegran a los demás? Los talentos dormidos, enterrados, no le gustan mucho al Señor. Es cuestión de tanteo y error. Quizá puedes preguntar en tu grupo, en tu parroquia, en Cáritas, en qué se puede echar una mano.
El Señor de la parábola volvió después de muuuuuuuucho tiempo. Pero volvió. No fue algo inmediato el regreso, pero tuvo lugar. En nuestro caso, el encuentro con Cristo también sucederá, antes o después. ¿Estás usando tus talentos como debes? ¿Estás preparado para dar cuenta? El que tenga oídos, que oiga.
“Amado Señor, concédeme tu gracia para que yo sepa aprovechar las oportunidades que tú me das para usar los dones, talentos y capacidades que por tu bondad me has otorgado.” Amen

Between yesterday's parable about virgins and oil and today's, it presents us with two moments in the life of each one of us.
While yesterday we were being urged to be ready for when God came back, today we are urged to be productive so that when God returns we can show a life that is profitable for the spirit.
We all have gifts (and most importantly) we all come to this world with everything we need to carry out the mission that God wants from us and learn the lessons we must learn. The fact that we are tall, short, prettier, less cute, intelligent or maybe, practiced with tools all has a meaning .. to cross the path of life by elevating ourselves and learning.
And those are our gifts, which we have to use again and again, being better people every day.
It is true that some talents are easier to see, to use and to put at the service of others. But it is also true that some talents are hidden, until we try to get them afloat. Have you ever considered, for example, if you could sing in the choir, or give some reinforcement courses in the parish, if you know mathematics, or visit a sick person (surely the parish priest thanks him, and the sick one, more) In short, things that are not too difficult, but that make others happy? Talents, asleep, buried, do not like the Lord very much. It is a matter of trial and error. Maybe you can ask in your group, in your parish, in Caritas, what you can lend a hand to.
The Lord of the parable returned after a very long time. But he came back. The return was not immediate, but it took place. In our case, the encounter with Christ will also happen, sooner or later. Are you using your talents as you should? Are you ready to give an account? He who has ears, let him hear.
"Beloved Lord, grant me your grace so that I may know how to take advantage of the opportunities you give me to use the gifts, talents and abilities you have given me for your kindness." Amen
