Lc 11, 5-13

Gospel Lk 11:5-13
Jesus said to his disciples:
"Suppose one of you has a friend
to whom he goes at midnight and says,
'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey
and I have nothing to offer him,'
and he says in reply from within,
'Do not bother me; the door has already been locked
and my children and I are already in bed.
I cannot get up to give you anything.'
I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves
because of their friendship,
he will get up to give him whatever he needs
because of his persistence.
"And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
What father among you would hand his son a snake
when he asks for a fish?
Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?"

Meditacion:
“Padre, quiero conocerte mejor. Amen

There are three verbs that only the simple ones practice: ask, search, call. If the adverb "insistently" is added to these verbs, we have outlined the program of a true follower of Jesus.
Asking supposes to recognize that we do not have everything we need, to be aware of our limits, to admit that Someone has more than us. They ask the poor and the beggars. They do not ask for self-sufficiency.
Searching involves experiencing the attraction of something that pulls us, admitting that there is a treasure for which it is worth risking, feeling the prodding of many questions for which there are no prefabricated answers. They do not look for those who have succumbed to routine, the lazy and the hopeless.
To call is to address someone with the confidence that we are going to be heard, to invoke a presence that surpasses us and at the same time takes charge of us. Do not call those who fear that there is no one on the other side of the door, those who are not prepared to enter in case it opens.
Insistently means every day, at all times, not only at certain critical moments, or when we do not find something better.
These essential lessons can be explained in a somewhat arid language, or they can be explained by saying: "If any of you has a friend and he comes during midnight ...". Evidently, Jesus chooses the most effective way. And that's why it removes us inside.
When one asks, he receives; when you search, find; when it calls, it opens. What do we receive and find? The synthesis of all we can receive and find is the Holy Spirit; that is, all we need to say "Abba" and to recognize with our lips and our hearts that "Jesus is Lord".
"Father, I want to know you better. Open my eyes to contemplate the sweetness of your face, your kindness and your love. "Amen
