Lc 16, 9-15

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Con el dinero, tan lleno de injusticias, gánense amigos que, cuando ustedes mueran, los reciban en el cielo. El que es fiel en las cosas pequeñas, también es fiel en las grandes; y el que es infiel en las cosas pequeñas, también es infiel en las grandes. Si ustedes no son fieles administradores del dinero, tan lleno de injusticias, ¿quién les confiará los bienes verdaderos? Y si no han sido fieles en lo que no es de ustedes, ¿quién les confiará lo que sí es de ustedes?

No hay criado que pueda servir a dos amos, pues odiará a uno y amará al otro, o se apegará al primero y despreciará al segundo. En resumen, no pueden ustedes servir a Dios y al dinero''.

Al oír todas estas cosas, los fariseos, que son amantes del dinero, se burlaban de Jesús. Pero él les dijo: "Ustedes pretenden pasar por justos delante de los hombres; pero Dios conoce sus corazones, y lo que es muy estimable para los hombres es detestable para Dios".

Jesus said to his disciples:
"I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth,
so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
The person who is trustworthy in very small matters
is also trustworthy in great ones;
and the person who is dishonest in very small matters
is also dishonest in great ones.
If, therefore, you are not trustworthy with dishonest wealth,
who will trust you with true wealth?
If you are not trustworthy with what belongs to another,
who will give you what is yours?
No servant can serve two masters.
He will either hate one and love the other,
or be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and mammon."

The Pharisees, who loved money,
heard all these things and sneered at him.
And he said to them,
"You justify yourselves in the sight of others,
but God knows your hearts;
for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God."

Meditacion:

Que lindo evangelio para terminar nuestra semana!

Leemos hoy de "La palabra entre nosotros":

Quiero destacar dos ideas para la reflexión de hoy.

La primera es la importancia de los pequeños detalles. El que es de fiar en lo menudo también en lo importante es de fiar. Hablábamos el martes de los buenos propósitos que todos nos hacemos alguna vez. Si los cumplimos, día a día, somos capaces de llevarlos a cabo. Si comenzamos a dejar de hacerlos un día, sabemos que es nuestro final. La constancia en la oración, aunque estemos cansados, o cuando nadie nos ve, por ejemplo. En este sentido, me asombra la fidelidad de la babushkas, las abuelas que, por toda Rusia, van cada día a Misa, aunque caigan chuzos de punta y haya 10º bajo cero. Las que bautizaron a sus hijos y nietos, incluso arriesgando su propia carrera y, a veces, la vida. Ellas sí han sido fieles en lo poco. Y recibirán su premio.

La segunda idea, es saber y recordar cada día por qué, o mejor, por Quién hacemos las cosas. Todo por amor a Cristo, que nos busca, nos encuentra y está con nosotros, si sabemos ser humildes. Si esto no lo tenemos claro, si nos falla el punto de partida, podemos hacer muchas cosas, pero al final nos vamos a desviar del camino, y acabaremos sirviendo – quizá sin darnos cuenta – a otros señores. Y cuando vengan los malos tiempos, nos cansaremos, nos rendiremos y nos iremos a otro sitio, porque nos faltará los principal, que es el Amor. Muchos voluntarios de ONGs se rinden cuando no hay frutos, ya que es difícil ser fieles porque sí. Los cristianos nos movemos en otra dimensión, la del seguimiento de Cristo, que se entregó por nosotros, dándonos ejemplo.

Como san León Magno, que fue fiel y siempre supo Quién era su Señor. Este pastor vivió según el Evangelio. Eran tiempos difíciles y no le fue fácil. Algo de su vida puedes leer aquí. Que su ejemplo nos ilumine para ser buenos hijos de la Iglesia, con humildad y con alegría.

“Amado Jesús, sé que el dinero es necesario en el mundo, pero quita de mí toda inclinación a la codicia, te lo ruego.” Amen

I want to highlight two ideas for today's reflection.

The first is the importance of small details. The one who is trustworthy in the often also in the important thing is to be trusted. We were talking on Tuesday about the good intentions we all have for each other. If we meet them, day by day, we are able to carry them out. If we begin to stop doing them one day, we know that it is our end. The constancy in prayer, even if we are tired, or when nobody sees us, for example. In this sense, I am amazed by the fidelity of the babushkas, the grandmothers who, all over Russia, go every day to Mass, even if they are puny and have 10º below zero. Those who baptized their children and grandchildren, even risking their own career and, sometimes, life. They have been faithful in the little. And they will receive their prize.

The second idea is to know and remember each day why, or better, by Who we do things. All for the love of Christ, who seeks us, finds us and is with us, if we know how to be humble. If this is not clear to us, if the starting point fails us, we can do many things, but in the end we are going to deviate from the path, and we will end up serving - perhaps without realizing it - other lords. And when the bad times come, we will get tired, we will surrender and we will go somewhere else, because we will lack the main ones, which is Love. Many volunteers of NGOs surrender when there are no fruits, since it is difficult to be faithful just because. Christians move in another dimension, that of the following of Christ, who gave himself for us, giving us an example.

Like Saint Leo the Great, who was faithful and always knew Who was their Lord. This pastor lived according to the Gospel. They were difficult times and it was not easy for him.
