Hagamos limpieza

Jn 2, 13-22

Cuando se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos, Jesús llegó a Jerusalén y encontró en el templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas con sus mesas. Entonces hizo un látigo de cordeles y los echó del templo, con todo y sus ovejas y bueyes; a los cambistas les volcó las mesas y les tiró al suelo las monedas; y a los que vendían palomas les dijo: "Quiten todo de aquí y no conviertan en un mercado la casa de mi Padre".

En ese momento, sus discípulos se acordaron de lo que estaba escrito: El celo de tu casa me devora.

Después intervinieron los judíos para preguntarle: "¿Qué señal nos das de que tienes autoridad para actuar así?" Jesús les respondió: "Destruyan este templo y en tres días lo reconstruiré". Replicaron los judíos: "Cuarenta y seis años se ha llevado la construcción del templo, ¿y tú lo vas a levantar en tres días?"

Pero él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo. Por eso, cuando resucitó Jesús de entre los muertos, se acordaron sus discípulos de que había dicho aquello y creyeron en la Escritura y en las palabras que Jesús había dicho.

GospelJN 2:13-22

Since the Passover of the Jews was near,
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves,
as well as the money-changers seated there.
He made a whip out of cords
and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen,
and spilled the coins of the money-changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves he said,
"Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture,
Zeal for your house will consume me.
At this the Jews answered and said to him,
"What sign can you show us for doing this?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews said,
"This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?"
But he was speaking about the temple of his Body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.

Meditacion:

Definitivamente Jesus no se andaba con cosas a medias. Hoy le toco al templo que se habia convertido en una feria con puestos de todo lo que uno se puede imaginar.

Hace ya un tiempo leia una interpretacion respecto a esta lectura que decia que no le molesto a Jesus esta especie de feria en si mismo, le molesto que estuviera en el atrio del templo, parte del recinto sagrado.

Y podemos pensar que no hay diferencia, que no hace mal si dejo poner unos puestitos por aca y otros por alla, total, la parroquia recibe unos centavitos que nunca vienen de mas... que total puedo organizar viajes a los casinos o muchas de esas cosas que las Parroquias hoy organizan para conseguir fondos y no hay problema, no estamos haciendo nada malo.

Pero en todo esto tan inocente hay un limite, el de tomar la casa de oracion como organizadora de eventos (lo he visto antes) y nos olvidemos de lo principal: la Parroquia existe para estar al servicio espiritual de su pueblo. Punto.

Entonces cada tanto, tambien nosotros, al igual de Jesus y siendo templo del Espiritu Santo deberiamos "hacer una limpieza de mercaderes"... Todas esas pasiones que por alli tenemos, la pasion por el dinero, la pornografia, la mentira, la soberbia, el orgullo... y tantas otras que tenemos ocultas por alli... hora de hacer un latigo espiritual y echarla de nosotros... y no hay mejor momento que este, ya casi comenzando Adviento para vivir con un corazon nuevo y renovado la Navidad.

Hermanos... no seamos como los mercaderes del templo, no perdamos el horizonte de porque estamos aca y, de la misma manera, tengamos un ojo vigilante sobre nuestra comunidad y Parroquia para que no "perdamos el rumbo"

En nuestro templo no habrá palomas para el sacrificio, pero quizá sí haya pasiones desordenadas (dinero, sexo, comida) y necesitemos que el Señor venga, nos vuelque las mesas y nos permita comenzar de nuevo. Revisa tu interior, a la luz de la Palabra, y deja que Cristo te limpie. Verás la vida de otra manera.

“¡Dios mío, enséñame a adentrarme en el río de agua viva que fluye de tu templo sagrado, que es Jesucristo, mi Dios y Salvador!” Amen

Definitely Jesus did not deal with half-baked things. Today I touch the temple that had become a fair with stalls of everything one can imagine.

A while ago read an interpretation about this reading that said that Jesus did not bother this kind of fair itself, it bothered him to be in the atrium of the temple, part of the sacred site.

And we can think that there is no difference, that it does not hurt if I let some places in here and others out there, total, the parish receives a few cents that never come more ... than total I can organize trips to the casinos or many of those things that Parishes today organize to raise funds and there is no problem, we are not doing anything wrong.

But in all this so innocent there is a limit, that of taking the house of prayer as an event organizer (I've seen it before) and forgetting the main thing: the Parish exists to be at the spiritual service of its people. Point.

So every so often, we too, like Jesus and being a temple of the Holy Spirit, we should "cleanse merchants" ... All those passions that we have there, the passion for money, pornography, lies, arrogance , pride ... and so many others that we have hidden there ... time to make a spiritual whip and throw it out of us ... and there is no better time than this, already almost beginning Advent to live with a new and renewed heart Christmas.

Brothers ... let us not be like the merchants of the temple, let's not lose sight of why we are here and, in the same way, we have a watchful eye on our community and Parish so that we do not "lose our way"

In our temple there will be no pigeons for sacrifice, but perhaps there are disordered passions (money, sex, food) and we need the Lord to come, overturn the tables and allow us to start over. Check your interior, in the light of the Word, and let Christ cleanse you. You will see life in another way.

"My God, teach me to enter the river of living water that flows from your sacred temple, which is Jesus Christ, my God and Savior!" Amen
