Lc 20, 27-40
En aquel tiempo, se acercaron a Jesús algunos saduceos. Como los saduceos niegan la resurrección de los muertos, le preguntaron: "Maestro, Moisés nos dejó escrito que si alguno tiene un hermano casado que muere sin haber tenido hijos, se case con la viuda para dar descendencia a su hermano. Hubo una vez siete hermanos, el mayor de los cuales se casó y murió sin dejar hijos. El segundo, el tercero y los demás, hasta el séptimo, tomaron por esposa a la viuda y todos murieron sin dejar sucesión. Por fin murió también la viuda. Ahora bien, cuando llegue la resurrección, ¿de cuál de ellos será esposa la mujer, pues los siete estuvieron casados con ella?"
Jesús les dijo: "En esta vida, hombres y mujeres se casan, pero en la vida futura, los que sean juzgados dignos de ella y de la resurrección de los muertos, no se casarán ni podrán ya morir, porque serán como los ángeles e hijos de Dios, pues él los habrá resucitado.
Y que los muertos resucitan, el mismo Moisés lo indica en el episodio de la zarza, cuando llama al Señor, Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, Dios de Jacob. Porque Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos, pues para él todos viven''.
Entonces, unos escribas le dijeron: "Maestro, has hablado bien". Y a partir de ese momento ya no se atrevieron a preguntarle nada.
Jesús les dijo: "En esta vida, hombres y mujeres se casan, pero en la vida futura, los que sean juzgados dignos de ella y de la resurrección de los muertos, no se casarán ni podrán ya morir, porque serán como los ángeles e hijos de Dios, pues él los habrá resucitado.
Y que los muertos resucitan, el mismo Moisés lo indica en el episodio de la zarza, cuando llama al Señor, Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, Dios de Jacob. Porque Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos, pues para él todos viven''.

came forward and put this question to Jesus, saying,
“Teacher, Moses wrote for us,
If someone’s brother dies leaving a wife but no child,
his brother must take the wife
and raise up descendants for his brother.
Now there were seven brothers;
the first married a woman but died childless.
Then the second and the third married her,
and likewise all the seven died childless.
Finally the woman also died.
Now at the resurrection whose wife will that woman be?
For all seven had been married to her.”
Jesus said to them,
“The children of this age marry and remarry;
but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming age
and to the resurrection of the dead
neither marry nor are given in marriage.
They can no longer die,
for they are like angels;
and they are the children of God
because they are the ones who will rise.
That the dead will rise
even Moses made known in the passage about the bush,
when he called ‘Lord’
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;
and he is not God of the dead, but of the living,
for to him all are alive.”
Some of the scribes said in reply,
“Teacher, you have answered well.”
And they no longer dared to ask him anything.

Meditacion:
Una de las principales actividades que yo suelo hacer en un retiro se llama "preguntale a Jesus". Si lo tuvieras enfrente que le preguntarias?
Es muy dificil preguntarle algo que no suene liviano o que amerite respuestas mas sencillas.
Sin embargo a Jesus le hacian preguntas muy complicadas como la de este evangelio, ese tipo de preguntas que uno no sabe si contestar con una sonrisa o enfadandose porque claramente buscaban confundirlo y que diera una respuesta contraria a la Ley.
Pero Jesus no era un improvisado, habia estudiado la Ley en las excelentes sinagogas de la zona de Nazaret, tenia una solida formacion intelectual y espiritual y, por sobre todo, podia ver esta realidad espiritual de cada uno de los que le preguntaba, era Dios en persona.
Por eso siempre responde de una manera sencilla, real y con una autoridad y conocimiento que supera a la media normal y que deja a todos anonadados.
Los saduceos de este evangelio rompen rapidamente el contacto porque se dan cuenta que no lograran llevarlo al terreno resbaloso de la duda que ellos querian llevarlo.
Y sin embargo nosotros, pobres pecadores, vivimos en ese terreno lleno de lodo que es la duda, el pecado y ese continuo oscilar entre el bien y el mal, entre los gozos y las sombras, entre la oscuridad y la luz.
Si por un segundo fueramos capaces de mirar como Jesus nuestra vida a traves del cristal del amor, todo lo que veriamos seria diferente y ya no querriamos volver a nuestro estado de paciente comatoso.
Pidamos a Jesus la claridad de nuestro espiritu, que seamos capaces de mirar la vida a traves del amor fraterno, la caridad y la misericordia.
“Cristo mío, Señor, concédeme la bendición de ver su santa faz y con eso seré feliz hoy y para siempre, te lo ruego Señor.” Amen

One of the main activities that I usually do in a retreat is called "Ask Jesus." If you had it in front of you, what would you ask?
It is very difficult to ask something that does not sound light or that merits simpler answers.
However, Jesus was asked very complicated questions such as this gospel, those kinds of questions that one does not know whether to answer with a smile or angry because they clearly sought to confuse him and give an answer contrary to the Law.
But Jesus was not an improvised, he had studied the Law in the excellent synagogues of the Nazareth area, he had a solid intellectual and spiritual formation and, above all, he could see this spiritual reality of each of those who asked him, it was God in person.
That's why he always responds in a simple, real way and with an authority and knowledge that exceeds the normal average and leaves everyone stunned.
The Sadducees of this gospel quickly break the contact because they realize that they could not take it to the slippery ground of doubt that they wanted to take it.
And yet we, poor sinners, live in that muddy land that is doubt, sin and that continuum oscillate between good and evil, between joys and shadows, between darkness and light.
If for a second we were able to look like Jesus our life through the crystal of love, everything we would see would be different and we would no longer want to return to our state of comatose patient.
Let us ask Jesus for the clarity of our spirit, that we be able to look at life through fraternal love, charity and mercy.
"My Christ, Lord, grant me the blessing of seeing his holy face and with that I will be happy today and forever, I beg you, Lord." Amen
