En aquel tiempo, levantando los ojos, Jesús vio a unos ricos que echaban sus donativos en las alcancías del templo. Vio también a una viuda pobre, que echaba allí dos moneditas, y dijo: "Yo les aseguro que esa pobre viuda ha dado más que todos. Porque éstos dan a Dios de lo que les sobra; pero ella, en su pobreza, ha dado todo lo que tenía para vivir".

When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people
putting their offerings into the treasury
and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.
He said, "I tell you truly,
this poor widow put in more than all the rest;
for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth,
but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood."

Meditacion:
Es imposible no dejarse llevar por el tobogan que va desde la semana de Dia de Accion de Gracias a la Navidad en un corto mes.
La celebracion de Cristo Rey del domingo pasado nos prepara para la entrada formal al Adviento y a todas esas hermosas tradiciones catolicas de Diciembre.. el 8 es fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepcion y el 12 es fiesta de la Virgen de Guadalupe que por aca se celebra con mucho fervor y amor.
Los sacerdotes cambiaremos nuestras vestiduras del eterno verde del tiempo ordinario al intenso rojo, el bello purpura y terminaremos en un blanco de Navidad.
Todas las celebraciones son expectantes y los evangelios se van sumando a esa expectacion por el futuro nacimiento de Jesus.
La de hoy es una de esas, Jesus nos muestra que no poseemos nada en realidad, que todo nos es dado para mayor gloria y que solo somos simples administradores de su obra.
Cuando veo tan enorme destruccion en nuestro ambiente y en nuestro planeta, me pregunto cuan duramente seremos juzgados por haber destruido y llenado de basura tan meticulosamente nuestro espacio vital, nuestra agua, nuestro aire.
De la misma manera que Jesus pone de manifiesto la sencillez de la ofrenda al templo de una viuda pobre, nosotros deberiamos inclinarnos a vivir una vida sencilla, y austera.
Y ser generosos con lo que tenemos para los que menos tienen, ser generosos con nuestra Parroquia, con nuestros bienes y posesiones.
Demos de lo que es nuestro, no de lo que nos sobra.
Y vivamos una vida simple, sin caer en un consumismo inutil y destructor para el planeta, Amen

It is impossible not to get carried away by the slide that goes from the week of Thanksgiving to Christmas in a short month.
The celebration of Christ the King last Sunday prepares us for the formal entrance to Advent and all those beautiful catholic traditions of December .. the 8th is feast of the Immaculate Conception and the 12th is the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe that is celebrated here with Much fervor and love.
The priests will change our garments from the eternal green of ordinary time to the intense red, the beautiful purple and we will end up in a Christmas white.
All the celebrations are expectant and the gospels are added to that expectation for the future birth of Jesus.
Today is one of those, Jesus shows us that we do not possess anything in reality, that everything is given to us for greater glory and that we are only simple administrators of his work.
When I see such enormous destruction in our environment and on our planet, I wonder how harshly we will be judged for having destroyed and filled with garbage so meticulously our living space, our water, our air.
In the same way that Jesus shows the simplicity of the offering to the temple of a poor widow, we should be inclined to live a simple, austere life.
And be generous with what we have for those who have less, be generous with our Parish, with our goods and possessions.
Give what is ours, not what we have left.
And let's live a simple life, without falling into an useless and destructive consumerism for the planet, Amen
