Esten preparados...

Lc 21, 34-36

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Estén alerta, para que los vicios, la embriaguez y las preocupaciones de esta vida no entorpezcan su mente y aquel día los sorprenda desprevenidos; porque caerá de repente como una trampa sobre todos los habitantes de la tierra.

Velen, pues, y hagan oración continuamente, para que puedan escapar de todo lo que ha de suceder y comparecer seguros ante el Hijo del hombre''.

Gospel LK 21:34-36

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy
from carousing and drunkenness
and the anxieties of daily life,
and that day catch you by surprise like a trap.
For that day will assault everyone
who lives on the face of the earth.
Be vigilant at all times
and pray that you have the strength
to escape the tribulations that are imminent
and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Meditacion:

Bueno se acabó el año!! Y si bien no abrimos vino y comemos como en navidad o ano nuevo, el ano liturgico para los que se guian por el calendario romano, termina hoy sabado; manana comienza el tiempo de Adviento y se abre un nuevo ano liturgico.

Para los hermanos Ortodoxos que seguimos el calendario Juliano, aun falta una semana para terminar el ciclo.

Y nos encontramos con este evangelio que al final de este tiempo nos invita a preguntarnos si estamos preparados, si hoy tuvieramos que enfrentar a Jesus.. estamos listos?

Y nos invita a estar listos, a velar y estar en oracion constante.

Ayer, hablando con un diacono me recordaba el antiguo concepto de la elevacion del alma.. cuando nuestra vision se amplia y vemos con ojos de evangelio la vida, es ese evangelio el que se transforma y pasa de ser simple ojas de papel que leemos a ser una ventana a traves de la cual vemos la vida y nuestros hermanos.

Y aqui me gustaria hacer una reflexion respecto a este tiempo tan particular donde parece haberse corrido el limite moral; escucho y leo muchos padres preocupados por sus hijos y por las elecciones morales que los chicos toman. Deberiamos preocuparnos todos un poco antes por hacer conocer a ese alma en formacion a Dios por un lado y despues, acompanar a nuestros hijos en su formacion moral. Pero no es la nuestra como papas la responsabilidad por las decisiones que en algun momento y de forma adulta y concientes nuestros hijos tomen.

De nuevo, estemos alertas y orando.. y formando, siendo siempre el norte para nuestra  familia pero a la vez, dejando que el libre albedrio de la cual Dios nos dio no se vea alterada.

Para terminar, les sugeriria ver el corto video sobre un nino autista que esta semana "se colo" en la audiencia papal, acercandose al Papa Francisco con total informalidad y jugando alrededor de El. Al final el Papa lo tomo como referencia y dijo que todos deberiamos ser como ese nino, y jugar frente a nuestro Padre Celestial con total libertad, se los aconsejo, el video esta en la pagina de la parroquia en facebook.

Tengan un hermoso Adviento, es un tiempo de preparacion y expectativa de cara a la Navidad.

“Señor, Dios mío, concédeme la gracia de escuchar tu voz y obedecer tu palabra para hacer lo correcto.” Amen

Well, the year is over !! And while we do not open wine and eat as in Christmas or new year, the liturgical year for those who follow the Roman calendar, ends today Saturday; tomorrow the time of Advent begins and a new liturgical year opens.

For the Orthodox brothers who follow the Julian calendar, there is still a week to finish the cycle.

And we find this gospel that at the end of this time invites us to ask ourselves if we are ready, if today we have to face Jesus ... are we ready?

And he invites us to be ready, to watch and be in constant prayer.

Yesterday, speaking with a deacon, he reminded me of the old concept of the elevation of the soul ... when our vision expands and we see life with gospel eyes, it is that gospel that transforms and goes from being simple sheets of paper that we read to to be a window through which we see life and our brothers.

And here I would like to reflect on this particular time where the moral limit seems to have run; I listen and read many parents concerned about their children and the moral choices that the children make. We should all worry a little before to make known that soul in formation to God on the one hand and then, accompany our children in their moral formation. But it is not ours as parents the responsibility for the decisions that at some time and in an adult and conscious way our children take.

Again, let us be alert and praying ... and forming, always being the north for our family but at the same time, letting the free will of which God gave us is not altered.

To conclude, I would suggest you watch the short video about an autistic child who this week "stands" in the papal audience, approaching Pope Francis with total informality and playing around Him. In the end the Pope took it as reference and said that all We should be like that child, and play in front of our Heavenly Father with total freedom, I advise you, the video is on the page of the parish on Facebook.

Have a beautiful Advent, it is a time of preparation and expectation for Christmas.

"Lord, my God, grant me the grace to listen to your voice and obey your word to do the right thing." Amen
