Mt 25, 31-46

GospelMT 25:31-46
Jesus said to his disciples:
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory,
and all the angels with him,
he will sit upon his glorious throne,
and all the nations will be assembled before him.
And he will separate them one from another,
as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the king will say to those on his right,
'Come, you who are blessed by my Father.
Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
a stranger and you welcomed me,
naked and you clothed me,
ill and you cared for me,
in prison and you visited me.'
Then the righteous will answer him and say,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you drink?
When did we see you a stranger and welcome you,
or naked and clothe you?
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'
And the king will say to them in reply,
'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did
for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Then he will say to those on his left,
'Depart from me, you accursed,
into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.
For I was hungry and you gave me no food,
I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
a stranger and you gave me no welcome,
naked and you gave me no clothing,
ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.'
Then they will answer and say,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty
or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison,
and not minister to your needs?'
He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you,
what you did not do for one of these least ones,
you did not do for me.'
And these will go off to eternal punishment,
but the righteous to eternal life."

Meditacion:
Amen

Imagine for a moment that Jesus the Master is in front of you and wants to make you an examination of the most important of his Gospel, and that depends on your personal future. Friend, tell me the most important and great things you have done in your life. 'You would tell him your successes, triumphs, how you were loved by your friends and the outstanding place you occupied in your community ... And suddenly Jesus interrupts you and says: "You gave me food in the poor, you dressed me in the naked, you gave me drink in the thirsty, you visited me in the hospital, you welcomed me in the unknown, you welcomed me willingly in the emigrant, you looked at me with good eyes in the prisoner, drug addict and alcoholic, you respected me in your wife and In other women, you treated me well in children and the elderly, did you take good care of everyone's common home ...? Would you insist Jesus: those things were of every day or only in some moments? You did not discriminate against people, right? What qualification, do you believe, would Jesus give you?
Lent is this special time to do this type of test on us.
It is not easy and, generally, we always lose out due to inaction or laziness.
We are not constant in the love of God; if one day we do something good for the other, we already feel very satisfied and do not do anything to the other, or we ruin it, doing something not so right and so we go, in a sinuous way between God and sin.
Let us ask God for help to start walking the path of his grace, that we can see by his eyes as helping those who have less.
I remember an anecdote from Saint Theresa of Calcutta; Inspired by the work of the Missionaries of Charity in India, a young woman once asked St. Teresa of Calcutta if she could enter the order. "Stay where you are" he replied. "Find your own Calcutta. Look for the sick, the suffering and the abandoned wherever you are, in your home and in your family, at your place of work and at school. Everywhere, wherever you go you will find people who suffer because nobody wants them. "
You see then that it is not a question of walking missionary so far ... in our work, in our family, among our friends we will surely find people who need us.
"Beloved Lord, show me at least one way that I can help someone today." Amen
