Mt 21, 33-43. 45-46
En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los sumos sacerdotes y a los ancianos del pueblo esta parábola: "Había una vez un propietario que plantó un viñedo, lo rodeó con una cerca, cavó un lagar en él, construyó una torre para el vigilante y luego la alquiló a unos viñadores y se fue de viaje.
Llegado el tiempo de la vendimia, envió a sus criados para pedir su parte de los frutos a los viñadores; pero éstos se apoderaron de los criados, golpearon a uno, mataron a otro, y a otro más lo apedrearon. Envió de nuevo a otros criados, en mayor número que los primeros, y los trataron del mismo modo.
Por último, les mandó a su propio hijo, pensando: 'A mi hijo lo respetarán'. Pero cuando los viñadores lo vieron, se dijeron unos a otros: 'Éste es el heredero. Vamos a matarlo y nos quedaremos con su herencia'. Le echaron mano, lo sacaron del viñedo y lo mataron.
Ahora díganme: Cuando vuelva el dueño del viñedo, ¿qué hará con esos viñadores?" Ellos le respondieron: "Dará muerte terrible a esos desalmados y arrendará el viñedo a otros viñadores, que le entreguen los frutos a su tiempo".
Entonces Jesús les dijo: "¿No han leído nunca en la Escritura: La piedra que desecharon los constructores, es ahora la piedra angular. Esto es obra del Señor y es un prodigio admirable?
Por esta razón les digo que les será quitado a ustedes el Reino de Dios y se le dará a un pueblo que produzca sus frutos".
Al oír estas palabras, los sumos sacerdotes y los fariseos comprendieron que Jesús las decía por ellos y quisieron aprehenderlo, pero tuvieron miedo a la multitud, pues era tenido por un profeta.

Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people:
"Hear another parable.
There was a landowner who planted a vineyard,
put a hedge around it,
dug a wine press in it, and built a tower.
Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey.
When vintage time drew near,
he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce.
But the tenants seized the servants and one they beat,
another they killed, and a third they stoned.
Again he sent other servants, more numerous than the first ones,
but they treated them in the same way.
Finally, he sent his son to them,
thinking, 'They will respect my son.'
But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another,
'This is the heir.
Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.'
They seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
What will the owner of the vineyard do to those tenants when he comes?"
They answered him,
AHe will put those wretched men to a wretched death
and lease his vineyard to other tenants
who will give him the produce at the proper times."
Jesus said to them, ADid you never read in the Scriptures:
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
by the Lord has this been done,
and it is wonderful in our eyes?
Therefore, I say to you,
the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you
and given to a people that will produce its fruit."
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables,
they knew that he was speaking about them.
And although they were attempting to arrest him,
they feared the crowds, for they regarded him as a prophet.

Meditacion:
El evangelio de hoy es una dura llamada de atencion a los sacerdotes y escribas de ese tiempo que habian convertido la religion de Moises en una mera cuestion de normas, reglas y preceptos donde no habia ya real deseo de servir a Dios y ser mejores.
Muchos de nosotros diriamos que no hay mucha diferencia con la Iglsia actual donde hay tanto conflicto y problemas, donde en muchas Parroquias vemos eso exactamente, el solo cumplimiento de unos preceptos vacios de contenido. Es justamente esta falta de fe y de solo hacer cosas por las apariencias que han vaciado nuestras Iglesias, de todas la denominaciones porque no es un problema solo de una Iglesia, es un problema mundial.
Ayer leia a Charles de Foucault, uno de mis idolos en lo que hace a espiritualidad que decia "La ausencia de riesgo es simbolo de mediocridad". Iglesia que no se arriesga a cambiar, que no busca y se pregunta sobre si misma o sobre la fe, se convierte en la religion mosaica del tiempo de Jesus: una serie vacia de normas rigidas que no evolucionan con las almas a su cargo.
Y mas terrible sera el futuro para los encargados de esas Iglesias, tan dados a desdeñar los "diferentes", los que no encajan con mi rebaño; ellos no tienen lugar en esa comunidad y, generalmente, son rechazados.
""¿No han leído nunca en la Escritura: La piedra que desecharon los constructores, es ahora la piedra angular. Esto es obra del Señor y es un prodigio admirable?" Los humildes, los que viven en las calles, los que menos tienen ellos son los dueños y señores de la creacion que Jesus vino a rescatar.
El Evangelio de hoy es una dramática llamada de atención a todos los cristianos a salir de la modorra, a tratar de responder con fidelidad a la llamada de Dios, para poder dar frutos de santidad para la vida del mundo.
“Padre eterno, te pedimos que protejas a los pastores de tu Iglesia de las dificultades y tentaciones. Te rogamos que los fortalezcas, los reanimes y los renueves, para que conduzcan a tu pueblo por la senda de la santidad.” Amen

Today's Gospel is a harsh call to the priests and scribes of that time who had turned the religion of Moses into a mere question of norms, rules and precepts where there was no longer any real desire to serve God and be better.
Many of us would say that there is not much difference with the current Iglsia where there is so much conflict and problems, where in many Parishes we see that exactly, the only fulfillment of some empty precepts of content. It is precisely this lack of faith and of just doing things because of the appearances that have emptied our Churches, of all the denominations because it is not a problem only of a Church, it is a world problem.
Yesterday I read Charles de Foucault, one of my idols in what he does about spirituality that said "The absence of risk is a symbol of mediocrity". Church that does not risk changing, that does not seek and ask about itself or about faith, becomes the Mosaic religion of Jesus' time: an empty series of rigid norms that do not evolve with the souls in their charge.
And more terrible will be the future for those in charge of those Churches, so given to despise the "different" ones, those that do not fit with my flock; they have no place in that community and, generally, they are rejected.
"" Have you never read in Scripture: The stone that the builders rejected, is now the cornerstone. This is the work of the Lord and is an admirable prodigy? "The humble, those who live in the streets, those who have less are the owners and masters of the creation that Jesus came to rescue.
Today's Gospel is a dramatic call to all Christians to get out of their drowsiness, to try to respond faithfully to the call of God, in order to bear fruits of holiness for the life of the world.
"Eternal Father, we ask you to protect the pastors of your Church from difficulties and temptations. We ask you to strengthen them, revive them and renew them, so that they may lead your people on the path of holiness. "Amen
