Lectura del santo evangelio según san Marcos (10,28-31):

EN aquel tiempo, Pedro se puso a decir a Jesús:
«Ya ves que nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido».
Jesús dijo:
«En verdad os digo que no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o hermanos o hermanas, o madre o padre, o hijos o tierras, por mí y por el Evangelio, que no reciba ahora, en este tiempo, cien veces más —casas y hermanos y hermanas y madres e hijos y tierras, con persecuciones— y en la edad futura, vida eterna. Muchos primeros serán últimos, y muchos últimos primeros».

Peter began to say to Jesus,
'We have given up everything and followed you."
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you,
there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters
or mother or father or children or lands
for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel
who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age:
houses and brothers and sisters
and mothers and children and lands,
with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come.
But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first."

Meditacion:

El evangelio de hoy es una continuacion del joven rico que leiamos ayer.

Para los apostoles si este joven que parecia cumplir con todos los preceptos y era exitoso (en la comunidad judia ser rico es ser bendecido por Dios) y aun asi no alcanzaba... que le quedaba a ellos que habian entregado todo?

El Señor los calmó diciéndoles que los sacrificios que ya habían hecho no eran en vano ni quedarían sin recompensa, porque él conocía bien todo lo que ellos habían dejado atrás y sabía cuántos más sacrificios y vicisitudes tendrían que pasar. Pero, fuera lo que fuera que tuvieran que hacer, Jesús quería asegurarles con absoluta claridad que jamás los abandonaría.

Vemos aqui la incertidumbre que a ninguna persona le gusta. Nadie quiere sentirse en la incertidumbre de lo que sucedera. Nos rodeamos de cosas y rutinas para sentir una falsa sensacion de seguridad que en realidad no existe. En cinco segundos, nuestra vida puede cambiar totalmente.

Pero Jesus mira por nosotros y no permite que caiga ni un cabello de nuestra cabeza sin que El lo permita, cuanto mas nuestros sacrificios.

Cristo conoce perfectamente bien los sacrificios que hacemos nosotros, y lo que nos promete es generoso: El ciento por uno, ahora en el presente… y en el mundo venidero, la vida eterna. Él no se deja ganar en generosidad. Pero añade: Con persecuciones. Jesús es realista y no quiere engañar a nadie, y menos a sus seguidores fieles. ¿Qué significa esto? Que si somos discípulos suyos, si lo somos de verdad, nos toparemos con dificultades y problemas a veces bastante graves y serios. Sin embargo, para el Señor, las persecuciones y las dificultades son una especie de premio, ya que nos ayudan a crecer, si las sabemos aceptar y vivir como ocasiones de crecer en madurez, en entrega y en responsabilidad. Todo aquello que es motivo de sacrificio nos asemeja a Jesucristo, que nos salva por su muerte en la cruz.

Siempre estamos a tiempo para examinar la vida que llevamos y acercarnos más a Jesucristo. En estos tiempos y en cualquier momento podemos descubrir —por medio de la oración y los sacramentos— si entre los discípulos que él busca estamos nosotros, y veremos también cuál ha de ser nuestra respuesta a esta llamada. Junto con las respuestas radicales, como las de los apóstoles, hay otras menos drásticas, pero también válidas. Para muchos, dejar “casa, hermanos, hermanas, madre, padre...” significa dejar todo obstáculo que nos impide vivir en profundidad la amistad con Jesucristo y, como consecuencia, ser testigos suyos ante el mundo. Y esto es urgente.

“Jesús, Señor y Salvador mío, ayúdame a entregarte todas las situaciones de mi vida para que tú habites más plenamente en mí.” Amen

The gospel of today is a continuation of the rich young man we read yesterday.

For the apostles if this young man who seemed to comply with all the precepts and was successful (in the Jewish community being rich is being blessed by God) and even then it was not enough ... what was left to them who had given everything?

The Lord calmed them by telling them that the sacrifices they had already made were not in vain or would be unrewarded, because he knew everything they had left behind and knew how many more sacrifices and vicissitudes would have to pass. But, whatever they had to do, Jesus wanted to assure them with absolute clarity that he would never abandon them.

We see here the uncertainty that no person likes. Nobody wants to feel in the uncertainty of what will happen. We surround ourselves with things and routines to feel a false sense of security that does not really exist. In five seconds, our life can totally change.

But Jesus looks for us and does not allow a hair to fall from our head without Him allowing it, the more our sacrifices.

Christ knows perfectly well the sacrifices we make, and what he promises us is generous: The one hundred for one, now in the present ... and in the world to come, eternal life. He does not let himself be won in generosity. But he adds: With persecutions. Jesus is realistic and does not want to deceive anyone, let alone his faithful followers. What does this mean? That if we are his disciples, if we really are, we will encounter difficulties and problems that are sometimes quite serious and serious. However, for the Lord, persecutions and difficulties are a kind of reward, because they help us to grow, if we know how to accept them and live as occasions to grow in maturity, in dedication and responsibility. Everything that is a motive for sacrifice resembles Jesus Christ, who saves us by his death on the cross.

We are always in time to examine the life we lead and get closer to Jesus Christ. In these times and at any time we can discover - through prayer and the sacraments - whether among the disciples he seeks we are, and we will also see what our response to this call will be. Along with the radical responses, such as those of the apostles, there are other less drastic, but also valid ones. For many, leaving "house, brothers, sisters, mother, father ..." means leaving behind any obstacle that prevents us from living in depth the friendship with Jesus Christ and, as a consequence, being his witnesses to the world. And this is urgent.
