Jn 8, 12-20

GospelJN 8:12-20
Jesus spoke to them again, saying,
"I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life."
So the Pharisees said to him,
"You testify on your own behalf,
so your testimony cannot be verified."
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Even if I do testify on my own behalf, my testimony can be verified,
because I know where I came from and where I am going.
But you do not know where I come from or where I am going.
You judge by appearances, but I do not judge anyone.
And even if I should judge, my judgment is valid,
because I am not alone,
but it is I and the Father who sent me.
Even in your law it is written
that the testimony of two men can be verified.
I testify on my behalf and so does the Father who sent me."
So they said to him, "Where is your father?"
Jesus answered, "You know neither me nor my Father.
If you knew me, you would know my Father also."
He spoke these words
while teaching in the treasury in the temple area.
But no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

Meditacion:
Y no solo.
Amen

This is the second week with the Gospel of John. And there are many characters that appear. Some, in favor of Jesus, especially those who have benefited from the Savior's charitable action. Others, against. Those who adhered to the law, to the norm, until they were almost merciless.
"I am the Light". Throughout the week, we will see Jesus discussing with the Jews, about his authority, his origin and, in some way, anticipating the end that awaits him.
To those of us who live in the north, suffering from the polar night, talking about light is always a cause for joy. And having light in our life is very, very necessary. And not only physically, that is, to see where you are going, but also spiritually, so as not to get lost in the world that surrounds us.
We often feel weak, lost in a world where bad news predominates. And we ourselves see that we can not change much. That the darkness can us. And we want it, but it's not enough. We fall again and again into the same mistakes.
Then the Light appears, and offers us its brightness, so that we know where to go. And he invites us to follow him. Particularly, as people, and together, as Church.
Each one of us has the invitation to accept Christ as the true Light. And not only. Thats not all. We can not be selfish. If we have found the light, we have to share it with everyone. We have to be light. "You are from the world the light," the lyrics of a Christian musical said years ago. It is a task that is waiting for you! Be a good John the Baptist for others! " And, if you see yourself without strength, repeat the refrain of the psalm: "The Lord is my Shepherd, nothing is missing". And believe it.
"Come Holy Spirit, Spirit of truth, teach me to hear in my heart the voice of the Father regarding his Son and teach me to know personally Jesus, my Lord." Amen
