Salgamos de nuestras casas

Jn 7, 40-53

En aquel tiempo, algunos de los que habían escuchado a Jesús comenzaron a decir: "Éste es verdaderamente el profeta". Otros afirmaban: "Éste es el Mesías". Otros, en cambio, decían: "¿Acaso el Mesías va a venir de Galilea? ¿No dice la Escritura que el Mesías vendrá de la familia de David, y de Belén, el pueblo de David?" Así surgió entre la gente una división por causa de Jesús. Algunos querían apoderarse de él, pero nadie le puso la mano encima.

Los guardias del templo, que habían sido enviados para apresar a Jesús, volvieron a donde estaban los sumos sacerdotes y los fariseos, y éstos les dijeron: "¿Por qué no lo han traído?" Ellos respondieron: "Nadie ha hablado nunca como ese hombre". Los fariseos les replicaron: "¿Acaso también ustedes se han dejado embaucar por él? ¿Acaso ha creído en él alguno de los jefes o de los fariseos? La chusma ésa, que no entiende la ley, está maldita".

Nicodemo, aquel que había ido en otro tiempo a ver a Jesús, y que era fariseo, les dijo: "¿Acaso nuestra ley condena a un hombre sin oírlo primero y sin averiguar lo que ha hecho?" Ellos le replicaron: "¿También tú eres galileo? Estudia las Escrituras y verás que de Galilea no ha salido ningún profeta". Y después de esto, cada uno de ellos se fue a su propia casa.

GospelJN 7:40-53

Some in the crowd who heard these words of Jesus said,
"This is truly the Prophet."
Others said, "This is the Christ."
But others said, "The Christ will not come from Galilee, will he?
Does not Scripture say that the Christ will be of David's family
and come from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?"
So a division occurred in the crowd because of him.
Some of them even wanted to arrest him,
but no one laid hands on him.

So the guards went to the chief priests and Pharisees,
who asked them, "Why did you not bring him?"
The guards answered, "Never before has anyone spoken like this man."
So the Pharisees answered them, "Have you also been deceived?
Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him?
But this crowd, which does not know the law, is accursed."
Nicodemus, one of their members who had come to him earlier, said to them, 
"Does our law condemn a man before it first hears him
and finds out what he is doing?"
They answered and said to him,
"You are not from Galilee also, are you?
Look and see that no prophet arises from Galilee."

Then each went to his own house.

Meditacion:

"Y después de esto, cada uno de ellos se fue a su propia casa"

El final de este evangelio me parecio muy interesante y real.

Cuando estamos enojados y no aflojamos, no cambiamos de parecer "cada uno esta en su casa", nadie quiere ver el punto de vista del otro.

No somos misericordiosos ni caritativos.

Jesus era motivo de polemica. Sus acciones, lo que hablaba iba en contra de todo un sistema de creencias y leyes.

Pero esas creencias y leyes no estaban basadas en el amor al projimo.

No es dificil salir de nosotros mismos, de nuestras casas y abrazar al otro, perdonar, asistir, aceptar, amar a mi hermano.

Y no necesitamos ni siquiera racionalizarlo, solo hacerlo.

Hoy salgamos de nuestras casas y aceptemos a Jesus en nuestro hermano como lo que es: una persona como yo con cosas buenas y malas.

“Amado Jesús, te ruego que me infundas tu gracia para creer cada vez más en ti y saber que tú eres el único Salvador y Señor de toda la Creación.” Amen

And after this, each of them went to his own house"

The end of this gospel seemed very interesting and real to me.

When we are angry and do not loosen up, we do not change our minds "everyone is in their house", nobody wants to see the other's point of view.

We are not merciful or charitable.

Jesus was controversial. His actions, what he spoke went against a whole system of beliefs and laws.

But those beliefs and laws were not based on love of neighbor.

It is not difficult to leave ourselves, our homes and embrace the other, to forgive, to attend, to accept, to love my brother.

And we do not even need to rationalize it, just do it.

Today we get out of our homes and accept Jesus in our brother as what it is: a person like me with good and bad.

"Beloved Jesus, I beg you to give me your grace to believe more and more in you and know that you are the only Savior and Lord of all Creation." Amen
