No pierdan la paz

Jn 14, 1-6

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "No pierdan la paz. Si creen en Dios, crean también en mí. En la casa de mi Padre hay muchas habitaciones. Si no fuera así, yo se lo habría dicho a ustedes, porque ahora voy a prepararles un lugar. Cuando me vaya y les prepare un sitio, volveré y los llevaré conmigo, para que donde yo esté, estén también ustedes. Y ya saben el camino para llegar al lugar a donde voy".

Entonces Tomás le dijo: "Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas, ¿cómo podemos saber el camino?" Jesús le respondió: "Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida. Nadie va al Padre si no es por mí".

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. 
You have faith in God; have faith also in me. 
In my Father's house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way." 
Thomas said to him, 
"Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?" 
Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. 
No one comes to the Father except through me."

Meditacion:

Cada vez hay más y más familias que subsisten con un salario que apenas les alcanza; la clase media está desapareciendo y cayendo en la pobreza, y los problemas de las ciudades, como las drogas y la delincuencia, van en aumento. El porcentaje de divorcios permanece en alrededor de un 60% y el número de personas que probablemente sean diagnosticadas con cáncer crece cada día más.

Ciertamente, pareciera que nos enfrentamos a una verdadera montaña de problemas; sin embargo, en el Evangelio de hoy, el Señor nos dice: “No pierdan la paz”.

Cuando Jesús pronunció estas palabras, su propia mente estaba abrumada por problemas, pues sabía que en las próximas 24 horas tendría que enfrentarse con una violenta injusticia y sufrir el dolor y la humillación pública de la muerte en una cruz. Debe haber sido un momento terrible para él.

Como reaccionariamos nosotros, sabiendo que seremos torturados y muertos un dia despues?

Jesus nos dice "no pierdan la paz", reacciona de una manera divina porque tenia la certeza que volvia al Padre.

Todos en nuestra vida enfrentamos problemas y diferencias, a veces nos ahogamos en ellos... pero hay dos certezas que no debemos olvidar.

La primera, los problemas siempre pareceran estan alli, la segunda, Jesus  siempre esta alli tambien y nos conoce a fondo,

Significa que Jesus nos resolvera la vida? Para nada, una de las maravillas de Dios es nuestra propia libertad, las decisiones y responsabilidad es nuestra pero alli esta esa vocesita de la conciencia, susurrandonos nuestro camino hacia la eternidad,

El Evangelio de hoy es tal vez el que transmite las palabras de mayor consuelo en toda la Escritura y puede convertirse en un bastión de seguridad y confianza para cada uno de los creyentes. Así que, hermano, sigue repitiendo la palabra de Jesús: “No pierdan la paz. Si creen en Dios, crean también en mí” (Juan 14, 2). Permite que estas palabras te convenzan de quién eres y te reafirmen lo que tú crees; permite que te llenen el corazón de la paz de Dios.

“Señor Jesús, concédeme tu fuerza y tu gracia para atravesar cada valle oscuro con fe y confianza en ti.” Amen

Every time there are more and more families that subsist with a salary that barely reaches them; the middle class is disappearing and falling into poverty, and the problems of cities, such as drugs and crime, are on the rise. The percentage of divorces remains at around 60% and the number of people who are likely to be diagnosed with cancer grows every day.

Certainly, it seems that we are facing a real mountain of problems; However, in today's Gospel, the Lord tells us: "Do not lose your peace".

When Jesus spoke these words, his own mind was overwhelmed by problems, for he knew that in the next 24 hours he would have to face a violent injustice and suffer the pain and public humiliation of death on a cross. It must have been a terrible moment for him.

How would we react, knowing that we will be tortured and killed a day later?

Jesus tells us "do not lose peace", he reacts in a divine way because he had the certainty that he returned to the Father.

Everyone in our life faces problems and differences, sometimes we drown in them ... but there are two certainties that we should not forget.

The first, the problems always seem to be there, the second, Jesus is always there too and knows us thoroughly,

Does it mean that Jesus will solve our lives? Not at all, one of the wonders of God is our own freedom, decisions and responsibility is ours but there is that voices of conscience, whispering our way to eternity,

Today's Gospel is perhaps the one that transmits the words of greatest comfort in all of Scripture and can become a bastion of security and trust for each one of the believers. So, brother, keep repeating the word of Jesus: "Do not lose peace. Believe in God, believe also in me "(John 14, 2). Let these words convince you of who you are and reaffirm what you believe; let them fill your heart with the peace of God.

"Lord Jesus, grant me your strength and your grace to cross each dark valley with faith and trust in you." Amen
