Jn 6, 60-69
En aquel tiempo, muchos discípulos de Jesús dijeron al oír sus palabras: "Este modo de hablar es intolerable, ¿quién puede admitir eso?"
Dándose cuenta Jesús de que sus discípulos murmuraban, les dijo: "¿Esto los escandaliza? ¿Qué sería si vieran al Hijo del hombre subir a donde estaba antes? El Espíritu es quien da la vida; la carne para nada aprovecha. Las palabras que les he dicho son espíritu y vida, y a pesar de esto, algunos de ustedes no creen". (En efecto, Jesús sabía desde el principio quienes no creían y quién lo habría de traicionar). Después añadió: "Por eso les he dicho que nadie puede venir a mí, si el Padre no se lo concede".
Desde entonces, muchos de sus discípulos se echaron para atrás y ya no querían andar con él. Entonces Jesús les dijo a los Doce: "¿También ustedes quieren dejarme?" Simón Pedro le respondió: "Señor, ¿a quién iremos? Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna; y nosotros creemos y sabemos que tú eres el Santo de Dios".

Many of the disciples of Jesus who were listening said,
“This saying is hard; who can accept it?”
Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this,
he said to them, “Does this shock you?
What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
It is the Spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail.
The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life.
But there are some of you who do not believe.”
Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe
and the one who would betray him.
And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me
unless it is granted him by my Father.”

Meditacion:
Después de la amplia revelación de Jesús en la sinagoga de Cafarnaúm sobre el pan de vida, los discípulos manifiestan su malestar y comentaban que un discurso así «¿quién puede hacerle caso?». Delante del escándalo y la murmuración de los discípulos, Jesús puntualiza que «el Espíritu es quien da vida; la carne no sirve para nada. Las palabras que les he dicho son espíritu y vida». La fe en la persona de Jesús y el seguimiento son un don, es una gracia que se nos concede. Cuando no somos capaces de reconocer la vida nueva que Jesús nos da, nos pasa como a esos discípulos que se echaron atrás y no volvieron a ir con él. Pidamos en nuestra oración que el Señor nos alimente siempre con el pan de su Palabra, con su cuerpo y su sangre, con su espíritu de vida. Haciendo nuestras las palabras de Pedro: «Señor, ¿a quién vamos a acudir? Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna»
Y es esa palabra la que llama y congrega a la Iglesia primitiva.
San Óscar Romero en una homilía del 29 de octubre de 1978 decía: «Una comunidad cristiana se evangeliza para evangelizar. Una luz se enciende para alumbrar. No se enciende una candela y se mete debajo de un canasto, decía Cristo; se enciende y se pone en alto para que ilumine. Esto es una comunidad verdadera. Una comunidad de hombres y mujeres que han encontrado en Cristo y en su Evangelio la verdad y la siguen, y se unen para seguirla más fuertemente. No es simplemente una conversión individual; es conversión comunitaria, es familia que cree, es un grupo que acepta a Dios. Y, como grupo, cada uno siente allí que el hermano lo fortifica y que en momentos de debilidad se ayudan mutuamente y, amándose y creyendo, dan luz, son ejemplo, de tal manera que el predicador ya no necesita predicar cuando hay cristianos que han hecho de su propia vida una predicación»
Hermanos hagamos de nuestra vida una predicacion constante y pensemos por hoy esta frase de Jesus "Por eso les he dicho que nadie puede venir a mí, si el Padre no se lo concede". Amen
