Jn 17, 1-11

GospelJN 17:1-11A
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said,
"Father, the hour has come.
Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
just as you gave him authority over all people,
so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him.
Now this is eternal life,
that they should know you, the only true God,
and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
I glorified you on earth
by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.
Now glorify me, Father, with you,
with the glory that I had with you before the world began.
"I revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world.
They belonged to you, and you gave them to me,
and they have kept your word.
Now they know that everything you gave me is from you,
because the words you gave to me I have given to them,
and they accepted them and truly understood that I came from you,
and they have believed that you sent me.
I pray for them.
I do not pray for the world but for the ones you have given me,
because they are yours, and everything of mine is yours
and everything of yours is mine,
and I have been glorified in them.
And now I will no longer be in the world,
but they are in the world, while I am coming to you."

Meditacion:
Amen

Before his passion and death, the Lord raised a final prayer to his Father, which we read in chapter 17 of the Gospel of Saint John. In it, he interceded for all believers, both those of that time and those of the future.
The Master is dismissed in the Gospel and the disciple is dismissed in the first reading. Pablo shows his confidence in the future, even though he knows it will not be easy. I do not know what awaits me there, I only know that the Holy Spirit, from city to city, assures me that prisons and struggles await me. It seems that the life of the apostle of the first century and that of the Church of the 21st century have not changed so much.
Most of us live in countries where there is religious freedom, but not everyone can say the same. There are many persecuted Christians. And many have witnessed their faith, until death. For not shutting up anything. For announcing entirely God's plan of salvation for the world. A project of love, justice, solidarity ... Those things that do not all come well, with which some do not agree. But what really matters.
What is it that really matters to us? What is it that really matters to me? Because, to be a witness, until the end, we must be able to lose our lives for the Kingdom. And that is not improvised. Christ prayed to the father for them, because they were his. And everyone knew that what is really important is the following of Christ. Rather than preserve life. That questions me. I review my life, and I see how much I have to improve. And I got some concern.
Today's psalm helps us pray in difficult times. Blessed the Lord every day, God carries our burdens, is our salvation. Our God is a God who saves, the Lord God makes us escape death. Repeat it many times, if you feel tired, overwhelmed, worried. That is a good help. To stop feeling overwhelmed.
Brother, ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior and that way you will be saved and maybe you can take your loved ones to the Lord as well.
"Thank you, Jesus Christ, for revealing us to your Father. Without you, we would be irretrievably lost and deprived of all hope. Help us to make known to the Father all the people we see today. "
Amen
