Una oveja perdida

Lc 15, 3-7

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los fariseos y a los escribas esta parábola: "¿Quién de ustedes, si tiene cien ovejas y se le pierde una, no deja las noventa y nueve en el campo y va en busca de la que se le perdió hasta encontrarla? Y una vez que la encuentra, la carga sobre sus hombros, lleno de alegría, y al llegar a su casa, reúne a los amigos y vecinos y les dice: 'Alégrense conmigo, porque ya encontré la oveja que se me había perdido'.

Yo les aseguro que también en el cielo habrá más alegría por un pecador que se arrepiente, que por noventa y nueve justos, que no necesitan arrepentirse''.

Jesus addressed this parable to the Pharisees and scribes:
"What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them
would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,     
'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.'
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance."

Meditacion:

"No he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores al arrepentimiento" dice Jesus en Lucas 5:32 y el evangelio de hoy lo reafirma.

En general, cuando nos encontramos en un paisaje natural, escuchamos una bella canción o contemplamos la obra de un artista, la reacción es de asombro frente a lo que vemos. El Evangelio de hoy nos remite a este tipo de reacción, pero frente a algo totalmente atípico, original y provocador: los secretos del Reino fueron escondidos a los sabios y entendidos y revelados a la gente sencilla. Jesús invierte la lógica de nuestro mundo: el tesoro del Evangelio no está en las manos de los doctores, sino entre aquellos que no cuentan en la sociedad. Son las personas “sin nombre”, los que hoy podríamos considerar los “sin papeles” o tantos otros, los privilegiados de la sabiduría divina.

Esta oración de alabanza suena como un insulto en una sociedad donde los títulos, las metas, la competitividad, la renta y el poder son parámetros que regulan nuestras relaciones. Esta es la única oración de alabanza de Jesús en los Evangelios. En ella Dios no necesita culto, tampoco sacrificios. Sólo aparece el agradecimiento, que es una necesidad nuestra. Aprender a ser agradecidos al Padre. Esto es lo que Jesús nos enseña: el reconocimiento de que Dios nos sorprende con su amor y, en su elección, revela sus secretos a los que tienen un corazón humilde.

Y hablando de corazones, hoy se festeja al Sagrado Corazon de Jesus. Antiguamente, se pensaba que en el corazon residian todas las emociones. El Señor le hizo a Santa Margarita Maria Alacoque varias promesas relativas a la devoción a su Sagrado Corazón, y por medio de ella a todos los devotos, como la siguiente: “Les prometo, en el exceso de mi misericordia, que mi amor todopoderoso concederá a todos aquellos que comulgaren por nueve primeros viernes consecutivos, la gracia de la perseverancia final; no morirán sin mi gracia, ni sin la recepción de los santos sacramentos. Mi Corazón será su seguro refugio en aquel momento supremo.”

Por lo que es sumamente importante venerar al Sagrado Corazon para, al final de nuestra vida, tener una buena y santa muerte.

“Amado Señor Jesucristo, Dios y Señor mío, llena nuestro mundo de tu amor y haz de nosotros almas generosas que se entreguen por entero a tu proyecto de salvación de la humanidad. Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, en ti confío.” Amen

"I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" says Jesus in Luke 5:32 and today's Gospel reaffirms it.

In general, when we are in a natural landscape, we hear a beautiful song or contemplate the work of an artist, the reaction is amazement in front of what we see. Today's Gospel refers us to this type of reaction, but against something totally atypical, original and provocative: the secrets of the Kingdom were hidden from the wise and understood and revealed to simple people. Jesus reverses the logic of our world: the treasure of the Gospel is not in the hands of doctors, but among those who do not count in society. They are the "nameless" people, those that today we could consider the "without papers" or so many others, the privileged ones of the divine wisdom.

This prayer of praise sounds like an insult in a society where titles, goals, competitiveness, income and power are parameters that regulate our relationships. This is the only prayer of praise of Jesus in the Gospels. In it God does not need worship, nor sacrifices. Only gratefulness appears, which is a necessity of ours. Learn to be grateful to the Father. This is what Jesus teaches us: the recognition that God surprises us with his love and, in his choice, reveals his secrets to those who have a humble heart.

And speaking of hearts, today the Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated. Formerly, it was thought that all emotions resided in the heart. The Lord made to Santa Margarita Maria Alacoque several promises regarding the devotion to his Sacred Heart, and through it to all the devotees, like the following: "I promise you, in the excess of my mercy, that my almighty love will grant to all those who receive communion for the first nine consecutive fridays, the grace of final perseverance; they will not die without my grace, nor without the reception of the holy sacraments. My Heart will be your safe refuge in that supreme moment. "

So it is extremely important to venerate the Sacred Heart for, at the end of our life, to have a good and holy death.

"Beloved Lord Jesus Christ, God and my Lord, fill our world with your love and make of us generous souls who give themselves entirely to your project of salvation of humanity. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in you. "Amen
