Mt 11, 25-27

En aquel tiempo, Jesús exclamó: "¡Te doy gracias, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque has escondido estas cosas a los sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado a la gente sencilla! Gracias, Padre, porque así te ha parecido bien.

El Padre ha puesto todas las cosas en mis manos. Nadie conoce al Hijo sino el Padre, y nadie conoce al Padre sino el Hijo y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar'

"I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."

Meditacion:

Cuando leemos el Evangelio, en varias partes vemos que los jefes de los judíos rechazaron el mensaje de Cristo porque pensaban que su enseñanza no era “auténtica.” Siendo “sabios y entendidos” no lograban captar las verdades de Jesús, porque su arrogancia intelectual y la dureza del corazón les cerraban el acceso a Dios. Por el contrario, los “sencillos” aceptaron con amor todo lo que Jesús enseñó. Para enfatizar la dureza de corazón de los eruditos, Jesús dijo que si Tiro y Sidón (ciudades gentiles conocidas por la inmoralidad y la corrupción) hubieran visto las obras de Jesús y escuchado sus palabras, se habrían arrepentido y cambiado.

¡Qué diferente es la forma en que los pequeños, por un lado, y los sabios y entendidos, por el otro, reciben las palabras del Señor! Esto sucede porque el mensaje de Cristo debe acogerse con humildad y respeto, como lo hacen los que buscan la verdad, sin la soberbia y la indiferencia que tan a menudo caracterizan a quienes confían solo en sí mismos. Los sabios y entendidos, en su mayoría, caen en la necedad de creer que son poseedores de la verdad, mientras que los humildes, indoctos y pequeños dejan que el Espíritu de Dios los ilumine, porque perciben que el Señor siempre tiene algo más que darles.

Dios desea revelar las verdades de su Reino a toda la humanidad, pero ¿estamos dispuestos a recibir la verdad de Jesús? Incluso los que ya tienen una relación con el Señor deben preguntarse esto. Hay quienes aceptan a Cristo hasta cierto punto, pero permanecen inmutables cuando la verdad de Dios es contraria a su modo de pensar o a sus conveniencias personales.

¿Tienes la tendencia a decidir lo que aceptas o rechazas del mensaje de Cristo? ¿Te abstienes de participar en la comunidad de tu parroquia porque no ves la necesidad de ayudar a los demás a crecer en la fe y la devoción? ¿Buscas oportunidades de servicio cristiano para compartir tus bienes, tiempo o talentos con los pobres, los que sufren y los necesitados como lo hizo Jesús? Si vemos situaciones como éstas y somos indiferentes, no estamos recibiendo el mensaje de Jesús como los pequeños y no estamos cumpliendo la voluntad de Dios. Estas son cosas que cabe analizar en la vida cristiana.

“Señor Jesús, quiero ser humilde de corazón y recibir tu palabra como los pequeños. Señor, Espíritu Santo, muéstrame a Cristo y guíame con tu luz.” Amen

When we read the Gospel, in several places we see that the heads of the Jews rejected the message of Christ because they thought that their teaching was not "authentic." Being "wise and understood" they could not grasp the truths of Jesus, because their intellectual arrogance and the hardness of the heart closed the access to God. On the contrary, the "simple" accepted with love all that Jesus taught. To emphasize the hard-heartedness of the scholars, Jesus said that if Tire and Sidon (Gentile cities known for immorality and corruption) had seen the works of Jesus and heard his words, they would have repented and changed.

How different is the way in which the little ones, on the one hand, and the wise and knowledgeable, on the other, receive the words of the Lord! This happens because the message of Christ must be accepted with humility and respect, as those who seek the truth, without the arrogance and indifference that so often characterize those who trust only in themselves. The wise and knowledgeable, for the most part, fall into the foolishness of believing that they are possessors of the truth, while the humble, unlearned and small let the Spirit of God enlighten them, because they perceive that the Lord always has something more to give them. .

God wants to reveal the truths of his Kingdom to all mankind, but are we willing to receive the truth of Jesus? Even those who already have a relationship with the Lord should ask themselves this. There are those who accept Christ to a certain extent, but remain immutable when the truth of God is contrary to their way of thinking or their personal convenience.

Do you have the tendency to decide what you accept or reject from the message of Christ? Do you refrain from participating in the community of your parish because you do not see the need to help others grow in faith and devotion? Are you looking for Christian service opportunities to share your assets, time or talents with the poor, the suffering and the needy as Jesus did? If we see situations like these and are indifferent, we are not receiving the message of Jesus as the little ones and we are not fulfilling the will of God. These are things that can be analyzed in the Christian life.

"Lord Jesus, I want to be humble of heart and receive your word like little ones. Lord, Holy Spirit, show me Christ and guide me with your light. "Amen
