Mt 12, 46-50
En aquel tiempo, Jesús estaba hablando a la muchedumbre, cuando su madre y sus parientes se acercaron y trataban de hablar con él. Alguien le dijo entonces a Jesús: “Oye, ahí fuera están tu madre y tus hermanos, y quieren hablar contigo”.
Pero él respondió al que se lo decía: “¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?” Y señalando con la mano a sus discípulos, dijo: “Éstos son mi madre y mis hermanos. Pues todo el que cumple la voluntad de mi Padre, que está en los cielos, ése es mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre”.
Pero él respondió al que se lo decía: “¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?” Y señalando con la mano a sus discípulos, dijo: “Éstos son mi madre y mis hermanos. Pues todo el que cumple la voluntad de mi Padre, que está en los cielos, ése es mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre”.

While Jesus was speaking to the crowds,
his mother and his brothers appeared outside,
wishing to speak with him.
Someone told him, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside,
asking to speak with you."
But he said in reply to the one who told him,
"Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said,
"Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father
is my brother, and sister, and mother."

Meditacion:
Recuerdan hace unos dias cuando Jesus nos prevenia que por su causa se enfrentarian las familias? Y hoy en este evangelio parece despreciar a la suya.
Lo que ocurre es que la relacion con Dios debe ser personal y unica, una relacion que debe trascender la familia.
En aquel momento, la voluntad de Dios era que él evangelizara a quienes le estaban escuchando y que éstos le escucharan. Eso dejaba en segundo plano a cualquier otro valor, por entrañable que fuera. Para cumplir su misión y hacer la voluntad del Padre, Jesús estaba ahora dedicado de lleno a cumplir su misión mesiánica lejos de la casa materna.
De esta forma, corrió la misma suerte que había anunciado para sus discípulos. Tuvo que renunciar a su propia familia y separarse de ella, para dedicarse de lleno a cumplir la voluntad de Dios.
Pero ¿quién ha estado más dispuesto a realizar la voluntad de Dios que María? “Yo soy esclava del Señor; que Dios haga conmigo como me has dicho” (Lucas 1, 38). Por esto, San Agustín dice que María acogió primero la Palabra de Dios en su espíritu por la obediencia, y después en su cuerpo por la Encarnación.
Cuando hacemos la voluntad de Dios con fe, nos convertimos, unos para otros, en padres, madres y hermanos. La unidad espiritual es tan fuerte que la unidad de parentesco y de sangre familiar viene a ser nada más que un reflejo material de la realidad eterna sobrenatural.
“Padre celestial, haz crecer en mí el amor sincero y abnegado a todos mis familiares, para que al amarlos a ellos te ame también a ti de todo corazón.” Amen

In this way, he ran the same fate he had announced for his disciples. He had to give up his own family and separate from it, to devote himself fully to fulfilling God's will.
But who has been more willing to perform the will of God than Mary? “I am a slave of the Lord; may God do with me as you have told me ”(Luke 1:38). This is why St. Augustine says that Mary first welcomed the Word of God in her spirit for obedience, and then in her body for the Incarnation.
When we do God's will with faith, we become, for each other, fathers, mothers and brothers. The spiritual unity is so strong that the family kinship and blood unity becomes nothing more than a material reflection of the supernatural eternal reality.
"Heavenly Father, make my sincere and self-sacrificing love grow to all my relatives, so that in loving them, I also love you with all my heart." Amen
