Mt 12, 14-21
En aquel tiempo, los fariseos se confabularon contra Jesús para acabar con él. Al saberlo, Jesús se retiró de ahí. Muchos lo siguieron y él curó a todos los enfermos y les mandó enérgicamente que no lo publicaran, para que se cumplieran las palabras del profeta Isaías:
Miren a mi siervo, a quien sostengo;
a mi elegido, en quien tengo mis complacencias.
En él he puesto mi Espíritu,
para que haga brillar la justicia sobre las naciones.
No gritará ni clamará,
no hará oír su voz en las plazas,
no romperá la caña resquebrajada,
ni apagará la mecha que aún humea,
hasta que haga triunfar la justicia sobre la tierra;
y en él pondrán todas las naciones su esperanza.

The Pharisees went out and took counsel against Jesus
to put him to death.
When Jesus realized this, he withdrew from that place.
Many people followed him, and he cured them all,
but he warned them not to make him known.
This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet:
Behold, my servant whom I have chosen,
my beloved in whom I delight;
I shall place my Spirit upon him,
and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
He will not contend or cry out,
nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
a smoldering wick he will not quench,
until he brings justice to victory.
And in his name the Gentiles will hope.

Meditacion:
El evangelio de hoy habla de grandeza y humildad. Jesus no andaba buscando el reconocimiento publico para si mismo; en todo momento durante su vida, estuvo buscando el reconocimiento para el amor del Padre, manifestado entre nosotros.
Jamas aparto los ojos de esa mision. Y cuando uno ama de esa manera, la obediencia fluye, dandole a la persona integridad para llevar a cabo la tarea.
Frente a esa integridad, nos encontramos la tan humana necesidad de controlar nuestro alrededor. Ya hemos leido y comentado varias veces la profunda miopia con que los fariseos observaban a Jesus y todo su entorno, sintiendose atacados en su fe, blasfemados por ese amor lleno de caridad que Jesus profesaba.
Muchas veces he visto yo el mismo problema, personas que se sienten atacadas porque alguien mas se propone hacer, sencillamente, algo por otras personas.
Y es que el amor molesta, nos confronta, nos obliga a vernos en un espejo que no siempre no es favorable.
Miremos hoy dia la situacion de nuestros queridos inmigrantes, de nuestros desamparados viviendo en las calles. No nos conmueve? O somos tan fariseos de pensar que no es nuestra responsabilidad tratar de resolver y ayudar en cada una de esas situaciones?
Volteamos la mirada ante el dolor ajeno? No siempre estamos en condiciones de cambiar de raiz una situacion dificil pero siempre estamos en condiciones de orar por cada uno de nuestros hermanos
atrapados por el dolor, la afliccion, la enfermedad, la adiccion.
Hoy sabado propongamonos seguir el modelo de Jesus. En efecto, el Señor no quiere vernos envueltos en confrontaciones, sino que seamos agentes de reconciliación y consolación. En lugar de “protestar” o “gritar”, quiere que sigamos adelante para cumplir el siguiente servicio que nos toque hacer.
Tampoco quiere que nos distraigamos con los planes del enemigo, sino que nos preocupemos de adelantar el Reino de Dios. ¡Cuántas más personas podrían escuchar la buena noticia si todos aprendiéramos el arte de abstenernos de entrar en polémicas, discusiones y descalificaciones!
En una cultura que promueve la confrontación y el conflicto, a veces nos cuesta recordar que el único cuya opinión realmente cuenta es Dios. Dedícate a amar al Señor y servir a su pueblo; proponte hacer todo y solo aquello que tú sabes que Dios te pide, y luego pasa a la siguiente tarea, confiando en que tu Padre ve todo lo que tú haces y te protegerá y te recompensará.
“Amado Jesús, enséñame a no dejarme arrastrar a las discusiones inútiles. Quiero parecerme a ti, Señor, amar y servir a mis semejantes.”

The gospel of today speaks of greatness and humility. Jesus was not looking for public recognition for himself; At all times during his life, he was seeking recognition for the love of the Father, manifested among us.
I never take my eyes off that mission. And when one loves in that way, obedience flows, giving the person integrity to carry out the task.
Faced with this integrity, we find the human need to control our surroundings. We have already read and commented several times on the profound myopia with which the Pharisees observed Jesus and all his surroundings, feeling attacked in their faith, blasphemed by that love full of charity that Jesus professed.
Many times I have seen the same problem, people who feel attacked because someone else proposes to do, simply, something for other people.
And it is that the annoying love, confronts us, forces us to see ourselves in a mirror that is not always favorable.
Let's look today at the situation of our beloved immigrants, of our homeless living in the streets. It does not move us? Or are we such Pharisees to think that it is not our responsibility to try to solve and help in each of those situations?
We turn our eyes to the pain of others? We are not always able to change the root of a difficult situation but we are always in a position to pray for each of our brothers
trapped by pain, affliction, disease, addiction.
Today, Saturday, let's propose to follow the model of Jesus. In fact, the Lord does not want to see us involved in confrontations, but rather we are agents of reconciliation and consolation. Instead of "protesting" or "shouting", he wants us to move on to fulfill the next service that we have to do.
Nor does he want us to be distracted by the plans of the enemy, but rather to worry about advancing the Kingdom of God. How many more people could hear the good news if we all learned the art of refraining from entering into polemics, arguments and disqualifications!
In a culture that promotes confrontation and conflict, we sometimes have trouble remembering that the only one whose opinion really counts is God. Dedicate yourself to love the Lord and serve his people; propose to do everything and only that which you know God asks of you, and then go on to the next task, trusting that your Father sees everything you do and will protect and reward you.
"Beloved Jesus, teach me not to let myself be drawn into futile discussions. I want to resemble you, Lord, to love and serve my fellowmen. "
