El mandamiento mas importante

Mt 22, 34-40

En aquel tiempo, habiéndose enterado los fariseos de que Jesús había dejado callados a los saduceos, se acercaron a él. Uno de ellos, que era doctor de la ley, le preguntó para ponerlo a prueba: "Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento más grande de la ley?"

Jesús le respondió: "Amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con toda tu mente. Este es el más grande y el primero de los mandamientos. Y el segundo es semejante a éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. En estos dos mandamientos se fundan toda la ley y los profetas".

When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,
they gathered together, and one of them,
a scholar of the law, tested him by asking,
"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"
He said to him,
"You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and the first commandment.
The second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."

Meditacion:

Si gran parte del evangelio se hubiera perdido en el tiempo, solo con este pasaje del mismo nos deberia haber bastado para comprender la profunda revolucion de amor que Jesus vino a traernos.

Porque miren, Jesus no dejo nadie de lado, no dijo "ama a este si y a aquel no"; todas las parabolas, todo el evangelio se encuentra resumido aca, en estas dos frases "ama a Dios y ama a tu projimo como a ti mismo".

Entonces si veo toda mi vida a traves de estas dos premisas, si instalo en mi vida este filtro, esta app como esta tan de moda ahora, vere siempre todo con los ojos del amor.

En Jesús vemos cuánto nos ama Dios a todos, porque en la cruz se manifiesta la profundidad del amor verdadero: muriendo y resucitando a la nueva vida, Cristo nos dio todo lo que necesitamos para llevar una vida de amor generoso e ilimitado. No se trata de sentimentalismo ni razonamientos humanos. Es un don del Espíritu Santo, que derrama el amor divino en nuestro corazón (Romanos 5, 5), porque para amar como el Señor nos pide, tenemos que saber primero cómo y cuánto nos ama Dios. Y ¿cuánto nos ama el Señor? Nos ama tanto que estuvo dispuesto a entregar su propia vida y derramar su propia sangre para salvarnos, perdonarnos y renovarnos, con el fin de que un día lleguemos a compartir con él la gloria del cielo. ¡Qué asombroso y magnánimo es nuestro Dios!

“Gracias, te damos, amado Señor Jesús, por enseñarnos que, antes que nada, hemos de amar a Dios y también a nuestros semejantes, especialmente en la familia. Así hacemos tu voluntad.” Amen

If much of the gospel had been lost in time, only with this passage of it should we have been enough to understand the profound revolution of love that Jesus came to bring us.

Because look, Jesus left no one aside, he didn't say "love this one and not that one"; all the parables, the whole gospel is summarized here, in these two phrases "love God and love your neighbor as yourself."

So if I see all my life through these two premises, if I install this filter in my life, this app is so fashionable now, I will always see everything with the eyes of love.

In Jesus we see how much God loves us all, because on the cross the depth of true love is manifested: dying and resurrecting the new life, Christ gave us everything we need to lead a life of generous and unlimited love. It is not about sentimentality or human reasoning. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit, which spills divine love in our hearts (Romans 5, 5), because to love as the Lord asks us, we must first know how and how much God loves us. And how much does the Lord love us? He loves us so much that he was willing to give up his own life and shed his own blood to save us, forgive us and renew us, so that one day we would share with him the glory of heaven. How amazing and magnanimous is our God!
