El Reino de los Cielos

Mt 13, 47-53

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a la multitud: “El Reino de los cielos se parece también a la red que los pescadores echan en el mar y recoge toda clase de peces. Cuando se llena la red, los pescadores la sacan a la playa y se sientan a escoger los pescados; ponen los buenos en canastos y tiran los malos. Lo mismo sucederá al final de los tiempos: vendrán los ángeles, separarán a los malos de los buenos y los arrojarán al horno encendido. Allí será el llanto y la desesperación.

¿Han entendido todo esto?’’ Ellos le contestaron: “Sí”. Entonces él les dijo: “Por eso, todo escriba instruido en las cosas del Reino de los cielos es semejante al padre de familia, que va sacando de su tesoro cosas nuevas y cosas antiguas”.

Y cuando acabó de decir estas parábolas, Jesús se marchó de allí.

Jesus said to the disciples:
"The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea,
which collects fish of every kind.
When it is full they haul it ashore
and sit down to put what is good into buckets.
What is bad they throw away.
Thus it will be at the end of the age.
The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous
and throw them into the fiery furnace,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth."

"Do you understand all these things?"
They answered, "Yes."
And he replied,
"Then every scribe who has been instructed in the Kingdom of heaven
is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom
both the new and the old."
When Jesus finished these parables, he went away from there.

Meditacion:

Hoy comenzamos un nuevo mes, Agosto, celebracion de San Maria Ligorio, Doctor de la Iglesia.

Y leemos a "La palabra entre nosotros":

Las redes de pescar recogen todo lo que encuentran a su paso, por lo que, cuando se vuelca el contenido en la barca, se ven muchísimas cosas: peces comestibles, peces no comestibles, crustáceos, erizos de mar y toda clase de objetos, desechos, algas, etc. La red no distingue entre lo bueno y lo malo o entre lo útil y lo inútil. Es el pescador quien tiene que decidir qué conviene dejar y qué desechar.

La Escritura está llena de historias en las que Jesús “pesca” a personas: cuando defendió a la mujer sorprendida en adulterio; cuando cenó con Zaqueo, el recaudador de impuestos; cuando enseñó pacientemente al justo fariseo Nicodemo, y muchas otras. En cualquier lugar donde estuviera, el Señor siempre estaba lanzando su red, siempre estaba tratando de ganar gente para su Reino. Incluso quiso que sus seguidores fueran “pescadores de hombres” y los envió a echar sus propias redes a cuantos encontraran por el camino (Lucas 5, 8).

Hoy, Dios nos encarga a nosotros la misma tarea. Quiere que todos compartamos la Buena Nueva tan a menudo como nos sea posible y de la misma forma indiscriminada como lo hicieron los discípulos y como lo hizo el propio Cristo. ¿Cuánto podría cambiar el mundo si cada persona que lee esta meditación intentara compartir el Evangelio con una sola persona más? ¡La pesca sería enorme!

Tú puedes hacer la diferencia. Hoy tú puedes hablar con tus compañeros de trabajo, un vecino o compañeros de estudios sobre el amor de Dios, aun si todo lo que hagas sea ofrecerles una sonrisa o un saludo amable. También puedes ayudar a tu familia a ir por el camino correcto haciendo algo tan sencillo como rezar juntos el Padre Nuestro todos los días. También puedes edificar más a un amigo tuyo si te dispones a escucharlo más de lo que le hablas. Y si se presenta la ocasión, puedes decirle a cualquiera de estas personas: “Dios te ama.”

Pareciera que el mundo se está quedando vacío de suministros de compasión y consideración, por lo que muchas personas están inmersas en sus problemas y dificultades. Y es ahí donde aparece la oportunidad de actuar. Si tratamos a los demás con bondad y solidaridad, otros lo notarán. Así que sigue echando tus redes cada vez que puedas.

“Espíritu Santo, utilízame para compartir tu amor con todo aquel que encuentre hoy por el camino.” Amen

Fishing nets collect everything they find in their path, so, when the content is dumped in the boat, many things are seen: edible fish, inedible fish, crustaceans, sea urchins and all kinds of objects, waste , seaweed, etc. The network does not distinguish between good and bad or between useful and useless. It is the fisherman who has to decide what to leave and what to dispose of.

Scripture is full of stories in which Jesus "fishes" people: when he defended the woman caught in adultery; when he had dinner with Zacchaeus, the tax collector; when he patiently taught the righteous Pharisee Nicodemus, and many others. Wherever he was, the Lord was always throwing his net, he was always trying to win people to his Kingdom. He even wanted his followers to be "fishers of men" and sent them to cast their own nets to those they found along the way (Luke 5, 8).

Today, God gives us the same task. He wants us to share the Good News as often as possible and in the same indiscriminate way as the disciples did and as Christ himself did. How much could the world change if each person reading this meditation tried to share the Gospel with one more person? The fishing would be huge!

You can make the difference. Today you can talk with your coworkers, a neighbor or fellow students about the love of God, even if all you do is offer them a smile or a kind greeting. You can also help your family go the right way by doing something as simple as praying the Our Father together every day. You can also build more of a friend of yours if you are willing to listen to him more than you speak. And if the occasion arises, you can tell any of these people: "God loves you."

It seems that the world is running out of supplies of compassion and consideration, so many people are immersed in their problems and difficulties. And that is where the opportunity to act appears. If we treat others with kindness and solidarity, others will notice. So keep casting your networks whenever you can.

"Holy Spirit, use me to share your love with everyone I meet today along the way." Amen
