Lc 6, 27-38

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Amen a sus enemigos, hagan el bien a los que los aborrecen, bendigan a quienes los maldicen y oren por quienes los difaman. Al que te golpee en una mejilla, preséntale la otra; al que te quite el manto, déjalo llevarse también la túnica. Al que te pida, dale; y al que se lleve lo tuyo, no se lo reclames.

Traten a los demás como quieran que los traten a ustedes; porque si aman sólo a los que los aman, ¿qué hacen de extraordinario? También los pecadores aman a quienes los aman. Si hacen el bien sólo a los que les hacen el bien, ¿qué tiene de
extraordinario? Lo mismo hacen los pecadores. Si prestan solamente cuando esperan cobrar, ¿qué hacen de extraordinario? También los pecadores prestan a otros pecadores, con la intención de cobrárselo después.

Ustedes, en cambio, amen a sus enemigos, hagan el bien y presten sin esperar recompensa. Así tendrán un gran premio y serán hijos del Altísimo, porque él es bueno hasta con los malos y los ingratos. Sean misericordiosos, como su Padre es misericordioso.

No juzguen y no serán juzgados; no condenen y no serán condenados; perdonen y serán perdonados. Den y se les dará: recibirán una medida buena, bien sacudida, apretada y rebosante en los pliegues de su túnica. Porque con la misma medida conque midan, serán medidos’’

"To you who hear I say, love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you.
To the person who strikes you on one cheek,
offer the other one as well,
and from the person who takes your cloak,
do not withhold even your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks of you,
and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
For if you love those who love you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners do the same.
If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners lend to sinners,
and get back the same amount.
But rather, love your enemies and do good to them,
and lend expecting nothing back;
then your reward will be great
and you will be children of the Most High,
for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as also your Father is merciful.

"Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.

Meditacion:

Que interesante plan de vida! Y que complejo es intentar seguirlo al pie de la letra cada dia!

Leamos un fragmento de "La palabra entre nosotros" respecto a este evangelio:

La enseñanza de Cristo sobre la misericordia nos parece exigente, sin duda porque a diario encontramos oportunidades para practicarla; pero, como sucede con otras situaciones difíciles, lo mejor es prepararse de antemano para hacer frente a estos casos. Entonces, ¿qué actitudes hay que tener antes para poder actuar con misericordia?

En primer lugar, el amor. Cuando Jesús nos manda ser misericordiosos, básicamente nos está diciendo que sigamos el camino del amor. El amor no busca retribución ni “guarda rencor” (1 Corintios 13, 5). Fue por esta razón que Jesús dijo a sus seguidores “bendigan a quienes los maldicen” y “oren por quienes los insultan” (Lucas 6, 28). Entonces, por amor, cuando un familiar tuyo te diga algo hiriente, trata de retenerte y no reacciones con dureza ni con una ironía ofensiva, y cuando alguien se te atraviese cuando vayas conduciendo de prisa, reza por esa persona en vez de reaccionar con enojo.

También está el entendimiento. El Papa Francisco ha dicho que todos somos “una compleja combinación de luces y sombras” (Exhortación apostólica La alegría del amor, 113). Entonces, cuando alguien te ofenda, no respondas de manera negativa, sino hazte la pregunta: “¿Qué le pasará a esta persona que la hace actuar así?” Si te das el tiempo de tratar de entender a esa persona y los complicados factores que tal vez la llevan a actuar de esa manera, te ayudará a ser más comprensivo y por lo tanto misericordioso.

En tercer lugar está la conciencia de uno mismo. Tú también eres una mezcla de luces y sombras, pero es muy fácil fijarse en la paja en el ojo ajeno y no ver la viga que uno tiene en el propio (Mateo 7, 3). Si te haces el hábito de examinarte la conciencia con frecuencia, verás constantemente tu propia debilidad. Cuando uno es más consciente de que necesita la compasión y la tolerancia de Dios, es más fácil perdonar a otras personas y ser compasivos con ellas.

Recuerda que nos falta mucho para llegar a la perfección, así que probablemente nos resultará difícil demostrar misericordia. Pero, ¡qué bendición es que Dios sea misericordioso con nosotros! Si ponemos de nuestra parte y nos preparamos de corazón, el Señor nos colmará de su gracia cada día. Ojalá que al vernos, los demás encuentren en nosotros el rostro de la misericordia de Dios

“Amado Jesús, concédeme hoy la gracia de ser misericordioso, así como tu Padre es misericordioso conmigo.” Amen

When one is more aware that one needs God's compassion and tolerance, it is easier to forgive other people and be compassionate to them.

Remember that we have a long way to go to perfection, so we will probably find it difficult to show mercy. But what a blessing it is for God to be merciful to us! If we do our part and prepare ourselves from the heart, the Lord will fill us with his grace every day. I hope that when we see each other, others will find in us the face of God's mercy
