Lc 21, 1-4

GospelLK 21:1-4
When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people
putting their offerings into the treasury
and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.
He said, "I tell you truly,
this poor widow put in more than all the rest;
for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth,
but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood."

Meditacion:
Amen

Today's gospel made me think because we give sometimes.
There is an aggressive and humiliating giving, a paternalistic giving, from an attitude of superiority; and there is a joyful and creative giving of communion, where the gift is accompanied by conversation, of interest for the situation of the one who asks, for entering into their feelings. Saint Vincent de Paul said to Saint Luisa de Marillac and his congregation of Daughters of Charity: "Only for the love you put in it will the poor forgive you the bread you give them."
The donation is sometimes also pure vanity, the human need to figure "doing good" and that, I think, is the worst of all.
We go to Mass, we collaborate with the Parish, we give alms to those who have less but we do it for ourselves, to look good before our brothers.
Let's get away from that way of giving ourselves, it is not good nor is it the one that will help our elevation.
Let us give our hearts, we give what little or much we have but moved by the Holy Spirit, thus becoming a tool in the hands of our Creator.
“Dear Lord, help me to give a good offering at Mass from today and give you my whole life every day. I want to give myself to you with everything I have and everything I am. ”Amen
