Resurreccion

Lc 20, 27-40

En aquel tiempo, se acercaron a Jesús algunos saduceos. Como los saduceos niegan la resurrección de los muertos, le preguntaron: "Maestro, Moisés nos dejó escrito que si alguno tiene un hermano casado que muere sin haber tenido hijos, se case con la viuda para dar descendencia a su hermano. Hubo una vez siete hermanos, el mayor de los cuales se casó y murió sin dejar hijos. El segundo, el tercero y los demás, hasta el séptimo, tomaron por esposa a la viuda y todos murieron sin dejar sucesión. Por fin murió también la viuda. Ahora bien, cuando llegue la resurrección, ¿de cuál de ellos será esposa la mujer, pues los siete estuvieron casados con ella?"

Jesús les dijo: "En esta vida, hombres y mujeres se casan, pero en la vida futura, los que sean juzgados dignos de ella y de la resurrección de los muertos, no se casarán ni podrán ya morir, porque serán como los ángeles e hijos de Dios, pues él los habrá resucitado.

Y que los muertos resucitan, el mismo Moisés lo indica en el episodio de la zarza, cuando llama al Señor, Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, Dios de Jacob. Porque Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos, pues para él todos viven''.

Entonces, unos escribas le dijeron: "Maestro, has hablado bien". Y a partir de ese momento ya no se atrevieron a preguntarle nada.

Some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection,
came forward and put this question to Jesus, saying,
"Teacher, Moses wrote for us,
If someone's brother dies leaving a wife but no child,
his brother must take the wife
and raise up descendants for his brother.
Now there were seven brothers;
the first married a woman but died childless.
Then the second and the third married her,
and likewise all the seven died childless.
Finally the woman also died.
Now at the resurrection whose wife will that woman be?
For all seven had been married to her."
Jesus said to them,
"The children of this age marry and remarry;
but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming age
and to the resurrection of the dead
neither marry nor are given in marriage.
They can no longer die,
for they are like angels;
and they are the children of God
because they are the ones who will rise.
That the dead will rise
even Moses made known in the passage about the bush,
when he called  'Lord'
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;
and he is not God of the dead, but of the living,
for to him all are alive."
Some of the scribes said in reply,
"Teacher, you have answered well."
And they no longer dared to ask him anything.

Hoy leemos de "La palabra entre nosotros":

Postrada en la camilla de la enfermería a la edad de veinticuatro años, Santa Teresa de Lisieux analizó su situación con paz: “No me estoy muriendo —le escribió a una amiga— estoy entrando en la vida.”

Lejos de llenarse de pesar ante la perspectiva de la muerte, Teresita se regocijó y pudo escribir estas palabras, aunque había experimentado la ausencia de Dios durante buena parte de su enfermedad. Estaba pasando por una noche oscura del alma, pero sabía por la fe que la eternidad la estaba esperando y que ahí se uniría a su Esposo, el Señor Jesús. Con razón sus últimas palabras fueron “Dios mío… ¡te amo!”

Las lecturas de hoy nos recuerdan que la muerte tampoco es el final para nosotros. La resurrección a la vida eterna espera a todos los fieles de Dios después de la muerte. Primero, el alma se levantará para estar para siempre con el Señor. Luego, en el último día, Dios infundirá vida en nuestro cuerpo, así como lo hizo con los profetas. Jesús dijo que ese día, seremos como los ángeles, refiriéndose a que ya no estaremos sometidos a la muerte (Lucas 20, 36).

¿Por qué no dedicas un momento en oración para anticipar tu parte en esta resurrección? Usa tu imaginación. Tal vez, al igual que Santa Teresa, vislumbra tu eternidad en la gloria del Señor.

En el tiempo por venir, tú seguirás siendo tú mismo, pues tu personalidad no se perderá. Al contrario, brillará con fuerza y plenitud porque serás liberado de una naturaleza frágil y pecadora. Todas tus experiencias que te han moldeado, desafiado y refinado, incluidas las de hoy en día, tendrán un significado eterno. Todos tus dones serán perfeccionados, todas tus heridas serán transformadas y glorificadas, y la imagen de Dios que llevarás grabada en tu alma brillará para que todos la vean.

Sí, tendrás un cuerpo nuevo, no limitado por la flaqueza de la carne, sino transfigurado y resucitado con poder. Es más, todas las ocasiones en que te has entregado por amor —animando, sacrificándote, entregándote a los demás— resplandecerán como el oro pulido. Incluso las acciones más pequeñas de servicio que hayas hecho resonarán en la eternidad. Y cuando estés completo, contemplarás la incomparable belleza del Señor para siempre.

“Dios mío, ¡te amo! Gracias por la promesa de la resurrección.”

Today we read of "The word among us":

Placed on the bed of the infirmary at the age of twenty-four, Santa Teresa de Lisieux analyzed her situation with peace: "I am not dying," she wrote to a friend, "I am entering life."

Far from being filled with regret at the prospect of death, Teresita rejoiced and was able to write these words, although she had experienced God's absence during much of her illness. She was going through a dark night of the soul, but she knew by faith that eternity was waiting for her and that she would join her Husband, the Lord Jesus. No wonder his last words were "My God ... I love you!"

Today's readings remind us that death is not the end for us either. The resurrection to eternal life awaits all the faithful of God after death. First, the soul will rise to be forever with the Lord. Then, on the last day, God will infuse life into our body, just as He did with the prophets. Jesus said that that day, we will be like angels, referring to the fact that we will no longer be subject to death (Luke 20:36).

Why don't you spend a moment in prayer to anticipate your part in this resurrection? Use your imagination. Perhaps, like Saint Teresa, glimpse your eternity in the glory of the Lord.

In the time to come, you will remain yourself, because your personality will not be lost. On the contrary, it will shine with strength and fullness because you will be freed from a fragile and sinful nature. All your experiences that have shaped you, challenged and refined, including those of today, will have an eternal meaning. All your gifts will be perfected, all your wounds will be transformed and glorified, and the image of God that you will carry engraved on your soul will shine for all to see.

Yes, you will have a new body, not limited by the weakness of the flesh, but transfigured and resurrected with power. Moreover, all the occasions in which you have given yourself for love - encouraging, sacrificing yourself, surrendering to others - will shine like polished gold. Even the smallest actions of service you have done will resonate in eternity. And when you are complete, you will contemplate the incomparable beauty of the Lord forever.

“My God, I love you! Thank you for the promise of the resurrection. ”
