El Reino de Dios

Lc 17, 20-25

En aquel tiempo, los fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús: "¿Cuándo llegará el Reino de Dios?" Jesús les respondió: "El Reino de Dios no llega aparatosamente. No se podrá decir: 'Está aquí' o 'Está allá', porque el Reino de Dios ya está entre ustedes".

Les dijo entonces a sus discípulos: "Llegará un tiempo en que ustedes desearán disfrutar siquiera un solo día de la presencia del Hijo del hombre y no podrán. Entonces les dirán: 'Está aquí' o 'Está allá', pero no vayan corriendo a ver, pues así como el fulgor del relámpago brilla de un extremo a otro del cielo, así será la venida del Hijo del hombre en su día. Pero antes tiene que padecer mucho y ser rechazado por los hombres de esta generación".

Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come,
Jesus said in reply,
"The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, 'Look, here it is,' or, 'There it is.'
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you."

Then he said to his disciples,
"The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
There will be those who will say to you,
'Look, there he is,' or 'Look, here he is.'
Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.
For just as lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other,
so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation"

Meditacion:

“¡Un momento! —le dice un fariseo a otro— ¿Ha dicho que el Reino de Dios ya está entre nosotros? ¿Y los romanos y el imperio que están aquí todavía? Israel sigue siendo una nación ocupada. ¡Esto no parece el Reino de Dios para nada!” Si miramos al mundo de hoy podríamos llegar a una conclusión similar. La diferencia es que el Reino de Dios no es un lugar ni tampoco un régimen político; se refiere a una nueva forma de relacionarnos unos y otros, una forma de conducta que engendra salud y libertad.
Durante su misión mesiánica, Jesús no se limitó a hablar del Reino de Dios; también lo demostró cuando bendecía, prodigaba amor, perdonaba, curaba y servía a cuantos acudían a él y le escuchaban. Su propio testimonio de conducta era prueba del Reino: no guardaba resentimientos, no condenaba a nadie ni se distanciaba de los pobres y marginados. De hecho, les salía al paso para acogerlos y mostrarles la misericordia de Dios. También les enseñó cómo debían tratarse unos a otros exhortándoles a perdonar antes que tomar represalia, servir antes que demandar el ser servidos y demostrar amor abnegado antes que actuar con soberbia e interés propio.
Piensa en las amistades y las relaciones familiares que tú tienes bajo la luz del ejemplo de Cristo. Posiblemente hay más del Reino de Dios a tu alrededor de lo que piensas. Cada vez que abrazas a un niño, llamas a un amigo, ayudas en tu parroquia o lavas los platos (aunque te quejes), el Reino de Dios está ahí. Cada vez que rezas, ahí está el Reino. Cada vez que decides amar a quienes tienes cerca, aun cuando no sean particularmente fáciles de amar, ahí está el Reino.
Eso nos anima a todos. El Reino de Dios está real y verdaderamente entre nosotros.
Piensa cómo puedes hacer presente el Reino de Dios en tu familia y con otras personas. Busca una oportunidad para ser bondadoso, perdonar o ser instrumento de la presencia de Dios. No tiene que ser algo extraordinario, sino una acción edificante y vivificante. Tú eres ciudadano del Reino, un embajador de Cristo (2 Corintios 5, 20). Por eso, puedes llevar la presencia del Señor a dondequiera que vayas. ¡Lo que hagas puede ser justo lo que alguien necesite para cambiar de vida!

“Gracias, Señor, concédeme tu poder para ser una bendición para aquellos a quienes encuentre hoy.” Amen

"Just a moment! "Says one Pharisee to another." Have you said that the Kingdom of God is already among us? And the Romans and the empire that are still here? Israel remains a busy nation. This does not seem like the Kingdom of God at all! ”If we look at today's world we could come to a similar conclusion. The difference is that the Kingdom of God is not a place or a political regime; It refers to a new way of relating to each other, a form of behavior that engenders health and freedom.
During his messianic mission, Jesus did not just talk about the Kingdom of God; He also showed it when he blessed, lavished love, pardoned, healed and served all who came to him and listened to him. His own testimony of conduct was proof of the Kingdom: he did not hold grudges, did not condemn anyone or distance himself from the poor and marginalized. In fact, it was up to them to welcome them and show them the mercy of God. He also taught them how they should treat each other by urging them to forgive rather than retaliate, serve rather than demand to be served and show selfless love rather than act with pride and self-interest.
Think about the friendships and family relationships that you have under the light of Christ's example. Possibly there is more of the Kingdom of God around you than you think. Every time you hug a child, call a friend, help in your parish or wash the dishes (even if you complain), the Kingdom of God is there. Every time you pray, there is the Kingdom. Every time you decide to love those around you, even if they are not particularly easy to love, there is the Kingdom.
That encourages us all. The Kingdom of God is really and truly among us.
Think about how you can present the Kingdom of God in your family and with other people. Look for an opportunity to be kind, forgive or be an instrument of God's presence. It does not have to be something extraordinary, but an edifying and life-giving action. You are a citizen of the Kingdom, an ambassador of Christ (2 Corinthians 5, 20). Therefore, you can take the presence of the Lord wherever you go. What you do may be just what someone needs to change their lives!
