Piedra sobre piedra

Lc 19, 41-44

En aquel tiempo, cuando Jesús estuvo cerca de Jerusalén y contempló la ciudad, lloró por ella y exclamó:

"¡Si en este día comprendieras tú lo que puede conducirte a la paz! Pero eso está oculto a tus ojos. Ya vendrán días en que tus enemigos te rodearán de trincheras, te sitiarán y te atacarán por todas partes y te arrasarán. Matarán a todos tus habitantes y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra, porque no aprovechaste la oportunidad que Dios te daba".

GospelLK 19:41-44

As Jesus drew near Jerusalem,
he saw the city and wept over it, saying,
"If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes.
For the days are coming upon you
when your enemies will raise a palisade against you;
they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides.
They will smash you to the ground and your children within you,
and they will not leave one stone upon another within you
because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."

Meditacion:

En una semana comienza el tiempo de adviento y terminaran esta serie de evangelios que yo llamo "la larga marcha" porque todos son escritos de hechos que se produjeron mientras Jesus iba camino a Jerusalen.

Jesus anticipo la destruccion de la ciudad y su templo, en el año 70 DC, las tropas romanas invadirian la ciudad y todo fue destruido. No hubo y no hay mas "templo de Jerusalen" porque los judios hablan de la Jerusalen celestial que vendra con la venida de Jesus al final de los tiempos.

De la misma manera, nosotros tambien somos un templo de Dios y podemos ser destruido por el pecado y las tentaciones.

No se destruye un alma por "un" solo pecado sino por la continua aceptacion de la maldad en nuestras acciones. Esa "pequeña" mentira hoy, ese "me llevo esto total nadie se va a dar cuenta", ese "llego tarde a mi trabajo", todas esas pequeñeces que nos parecen insignificantes son las que van llenando nuestro corazon de tinieblas.

No aceptemos hermanos entonces ese pecado insistente e insignificante que nos impide caminar bajo la gracia de Dios.

“Amado Señor Jesús, enséñame a demostrar tu compasión y tu valentía, para que el mundo reconozca tu santa presencia.” Amen

In a week the time of advent begins and this series of gospels that I call "the long march" will end because they are all written of facts that occurred while Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.

Jesus anticipated the destruction of the city and its temple, in 70 AD, Roman troops would invade the city and everything was destroyed. There was and there is no more "Temple of Jerusalem" because the Jews speak of the heavenly Jerusalem that will come with the coming of Jesus at the end of time.

In the same way, we are also a temple of God and can be destroyed by sin and temptations.

A soul is not destroyed by "one" only sin but by the continued acceptance of evil in our actions. That "little" lie today, that "I take this totally nobody will notice", that "I'm late for my work", all those little things that seem insignificant are those that are filling our hearts with darkness.

Let us not accept brothers, then, that insistent and insignificant sin that prevents us from walking under the grace of God.

"Beloved Lord Jesus, teach me to show your compassion and your courage, so that the world recognizes your holy presence." Amen
